Seventeenth Sunday in
Ordinary Time
The Memorare
REMEMBER, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never
was it known that anyone who
fled to Thy protection, implored Thy help, or sought
Thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to Thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to
Thee do I come; before
Thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the
Word Incarnate, despise not
my petitions, but in Thy
mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.

XVII TEMPO ORDINARIO
From the Deacon’s desk ….
A note from Fr. Wayne . . .
THE HOLY MASS
The most important thing that we do as a parish
family is the celebration of Holy Mass. It is in this
most holy sacrament that Jesus comes to us in an
extraordinary way. The Eucharistic Host that we
receive is truly the Real Presence of Jesus; that is, it is
the actual Body and Blood of Christ. For us, the
altar is the central and the focal point of the celebration of the Holy Mass. The Church teaches us
through the Catechism:
Chaplet of the Most Precious Blood
Please join us on Tuesday, July 28 at 6:45 p.m. in the
Rectory Chapel as we pray the Chaplet of the Most
Precious Blood and the Litany of the Most Precious
Blood. This will be a grace-filled time of prayer and
reflection on the spilling of Our Lord’s Blood for our
redemption.
“The altar, around which the Church is gathered in
the celebration of the Eucharist, represents the two
aspects of the same mystery: the altar of the sacrifice
and the table of the Lord. This is all the more so
since the Christian altar is the symbol of Christ himself, present in the midst of the assembly of his faithful, both as the victim offered for our reconciliation
and as food from heaven who is giving himself to us.
“For what is the altar of Christ if not the image of the
Body of Christ?” asks St. Ambrose. He says elsewhere, “The altar represents the body [of Christ] and
the Body of Christ is on the altar.” The liturgy expresses this unity of sacrifice and communion in
many prayers.”
(Catechism of the Catholic Church #1383)
In keeping with the teachings of the Church, we will
at the beginning of each Holy Mass place an image of
the Blessed Mother and the Infant Child in front of
the Tabernacle (where the Sacred Hosts are always
reserved). The image on the cover of the bulletin
will be that which is placed directly in front of the
Tabernacle only at the beginning of Holy Mass.
After the Holy Mass, the image will be removed so as
to allow people the opportunity to pray before the
Lord present there.

XVII SUNDAY IN ORDIANRY TIME
JULY 26, 2015
XVII TEMPO ORDINARIO
Summer is just about here! It is important to examine our “dress code” for Holy Mass.
There is a time and place for just about everything. How we dress for Church fits into this category.
How we dress should be guided by the spirit of respect and modesty we have for ourselves, Church, and the
people around us. The Parish Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a House of Worship and Prayer; it is
the House of God where we gather as God's people. It is "The Temple of God" where we celebrate the
Sacred Mysteries of our Faith.
Does it matter what we wear when we enter Church to participate in Religious services? The answer is yes!
Absolutely!! Despite changing cultures, some things do not and should not change. RESPECT is the key
word. We can be casual and comfortable and still be respectful and modest in our attire.
In recent years, we have become lax and careless in this area. The Church of God is not a beach, a backyard, a mall, a sporting event, or a park. Styles change, but RESPECT for God's House, for yourself, and
for others, does not. We have forgotten that how we look and dress for different occasions makes a statement about who we are and what values guide our personal lives.
Parents need to teach their sons and daughters what is modest, appropriate, and respectful for church, as
well as, many social events. But parents must first look at the example they give by the way they dress.
Church is no place for tee-shirts with inappropriate or vulgar words and expressions, cut offs, (male or female); halter tops; tank tops, crop tops. At times it is embarrassing to see how some enter the House of
God.
Does it matter? YES!!!! It is about RESPECT for God, for self and for others!!
Just something to think about in the weeks ahead.
What we believe . . .
Some Catholic Preliminaries to the Presidential
Campaign by Fr. C.J. McCloskey
Political differences on these sorts of questions do
not fall into the category of "prudential judgments,"
such as what is the proper level of military funding or
which is the fairest tax system. The more basic issues
are either/or questions that derive directly from the
moral law.
Made in the Image of God But we should always remember that Christ's dying
and rising offers us new life in the Spirit, whose saving grace delivers us from sin and heals sin's damage
within us.
Thus we speak of the value, dignity, and goal of human life, even with its imperfections and struggles.
Human life, as a profound unity of physical and
spiritual dimensions, is sacred. It is distinct from all
other forms of life, since it alone is imprinted with
the very image of its Creator.

XVII TEMPO ORDINARIO
regni in mezzo a noi Cristo Dio. Rit.
magnanimità, sopportandovi a vicenda nell’amore,
presente in tutti.
GLORIA
Gloria a Dio nell'alto dei cieli e pace in terra agli
uomini di buona volontà. Noi ti lodiamo, ti
benediciamo, ti adoriamo, ti glorifichiamo, ti
Signore,
Figlio unigenito, Gesù Cristo, Signore Dio, Agnello

Verbum Domini
da mangiare?». Diceva così per metterlo alla prova;
Andrea, fratello di Simon Pietro: «C’è qui un ragazzo che ha cinque pani d’orzo e due pesci;

Rispose
Gesù: «Fateli sedere». C’era molta erba in quel
luogo. Allora Gesù prese i pani e, dopo
«Raccogliete i pezzi avanzati, perché nulla vada perduto».
COMUNIONE
È giunta l’ora, Padre, per me.
Ai miei amici ho detto che questa è la vita;
conscere Te e il Figlio Tuo, Cristo Gesù.
Erano Tuoi, li hai dati a me; ed ora sanno
Laus Tibi, Christe
mi hai mandato, li hai amati come ami me.
IL CREDO DEGLI APOSTOLI
Credo in Dio, Padre onnipotente,
Creatore del cielo e della terra.
E in Gesù Cristo, Suo Figlio unigenito,
Signore nostro; il quale fu concepito
di Spirito Santo, nato dalla vergine Maria;
soffrì sotto Ponzio Pilato, fu crocifisso, morì
e fu sepolto; discese agli inferi;
il terzo giorno risuscitò dai morti; ascese al cielo;
siede alla destra di Dio Padre onnipotente;
Io credo nello Spirito Santo;
la santa Chiesa universale;
la comunione dei santi;
la remissione dei peccati;
la risurrezione della carne; la vita eterna.
Amen.
FINALE
Rit: Dov’è carità e amore, qui c’è Dio.
Chi non ama resta sempre nella notte
e dall’ombra della morte non risorge;
ma se noi camminiamo nell’amore,
noi saremo veri figli della luce. Rit .
L’Angelus
V. L’Angelo del Signore portò l’annunzio a Maria;
R. Ed ella concepì per opera dello Spirito Santo.
V. Eccomi, sono la serva del Signore.
R. Si compia in me la tua parola.
V. E il Verbo si fece carne.
R. E venne ad abitare in mezzo a noi.
OFFERTORIO
all’acque tue tranquille mi fai tu dissetar. Rit.
Preghiamo:
Cristo nostro Signore. Amen.
Se in valle tutta oscura io camminar dovrò,
vicino a Te, Signore, più nulla temerò. Rit.
Rit.
Buona Domenica
E
Buon Pranzo a Tutti Voi.
