A note from Fr. Wayne . . .
This weekend, we celebrate All Saints Day. We
have the opportunity to reflect on those men and
women who have been raised to the dignity of sainthood. This weekend also gives us the opportunity to
think about our call to sainthood. When you actually
think about it, God calls us to be saints. Have you
every thought that possibly you could be a saint?
Saint Josemaria once wrote:
The month of November
a time to remember all souls
During the month of November, the Church takes a
special time to remember “those, who have gone before us…” This tradition started, in the 16th century.
This month serves as our reminder to pray for the
souls in Purgatory, those who have not yet attained
the joy of heaven.
“Let us try to foster deep down in our hearts a burning desire, an intense eagerness to achieve sanctity,
even though we see ourselves full of failings. Do not
be afraid: the more one advances in the interior life,
the more clearly one sees one's own faults. Grace
works in us like a magnifying glass, and even the tiniest speck of dust or an almost invisible grain of sand
can appear immensely large, for the soul acquires a
divine sensitivity, and even the slightest shadow
irritates one's conscience, which finds delight only in
the limpid clarity of God. Speak now from the bottom of your heart: 'Lord, I really do want to be a
saint. I really do want to be a worthy disciple of yours
and to follow you unconditionally.' And now you
should make a resolution to renew each day the great
ideals which inspire you at this moment.”
Catholic tradition holds that Saint Gertrude the Great
was told, by the Lord, that piously praying this prayer
would release 1,000 souls from Purgatory:
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious
Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the
masses said throughout the world today, for all the
holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for
sinners in the universal church, those in my own
home and within my family. Amen.

Alliance to Stop Public Funding (our tax dollars) of

amend the State Constitution so that taxpayer subsidized abortions are no longer a constitutional entitlement in Massachusetts. Please stop and sign this

Parish Council Nomination Sheet
Sacred Heart Parish
Recognizing that sound pastoral decisions are informed by the wisdom of the People of God, Father Wayne will
open a new session of the Parish Pastoral Council of Sacred Heart Church on November 29, 2015. The documents of the Second Vatican Council recommended the establishment of such councils. They state that Catholics have a right and duty to express their opinion on what pertains to the good of the Church. The purpose of
the Parish Pastoral Council is to investigate pastoral matters, to consider them thoroughly, and to propose practical conclusions about them. Nominees work well in a team setting, are willing to listen to the opinions of all
council members, take an active role in every meeting, and make every effort to attend every council meeting.
They are baptized Catholics, eighteen years of age or older, in good standing with the Church, who reflect the
parish’s various neighborhoods, social and professional groups, and apostolates.
Directions: You may nominate up to three people for the Parish Pastoral Council. One of those three people
may be yourself. This is not an election but only a nomination. Please fill in the table below with the nominees

una moltitudine immensa, che nessuno poteva contare, di ogni nazione, tribù, popolo e lingua. Tutti stavano in piedi davanti al trono e davanti all’Agnello, avvolti in vesti candide, e tenevano rami di palma nelle
loro mani. E gridavano a gran voce: «La salvezza appartiene al nostro Dio, seduto sul trono, e all’ Agnello». E tutti gli angeli stavano attorno al trono e agli
anziani e ai quattro esseri viventi, e si inchinarono con
la faccia a terra davanti al trono e adorarono Dio dicendo: «Amen! Lode, gloria, sapienza, azione di grazie, onore, potenza e forza al nostro Dio nei secoli
dei secoli. Amen». Uno degli anziani allora si rivolse
a me e disse: «Questi, che sono vestiti di bianco, chi
sono e da dove vengono?». Gli risposi: «Signore mio,
tu lo sai». E lui: «Sono quelli che vengono dalla grande tribolazione e che hanno lavato le loro vesti, rendendole candide nel sangue dell’Agnello».
A FACCIA A FACCIA CON CRISTO
La morte del cristiano non è un momento al termine del suo cammino terreno, un punto avulso dal
resto detta vita. La vita terrena è preparazione a quella celeste, stiamo in essa come bambini nel seno
materno: la nostra vita terrena è un periodo di formazione, di lotte, di prime scelte. Con la morte
l’uomo si trova di fronte a tutto ciò che costituisce
l’oggetto delle sue aspirazioni più profonde: si troverà di fronte a Cristo e sarà la scelta definitiva, costruita con tutte le scelte parziali di questa vita.
Cristo ci attende con le braccia aperte: l’uomo che
sceglie di porsi contro Cristo, sarà tormentato in
eterno dal ricordo di quello stesso amore che ha
rifiutato. L’uomo che si decide per Cristo troverà in
quell’amore la gioia piena e definitiva.

Carissimi, vedete quale grande amore ci ha dato il
Padre per essere chiamati figli di Dio, e lo siamo realmente! Per questo il mondo non ci conosce: perché
non ha conosciuto lui.
Carissimi, noi fin d’ora siamo figli di Dio, ma ciò che
saremo non è stato ancora rivelato. Sappiamo però
che quando egli si sarà manifestato, noi saremo simili
a lui, perché lo vedremo così come egli è. Chiunque
ha questa speranza in lui, purifica se stesso, come egli
è puro.
