GIRO D'ITALIA PER REGIONI / TOUR IN ITALY BY REGIONS
A cominciare dal prossimo Settembre, dal 6 al 17 stesso
mese, organizza in collaborazione con "Transwold Travel" di
Ottawa, un giro a tappe per conoscere meglio l'Italia.
Cominceremo dalla Sicilia con partenza da
Montreal, ("Air Canada" e "Alitalia"). Visiteremo
esclusivamente questa regione così ricca di storia, cultura e
natura.

Three days before on March 16 we will celebrate St. Joseph the patron of the Church, Canada and in Italy Father's
day. We will have occasion to celebrate a fun evening with homemade cooking accompanied with music by
“Nostalgia”. As mentioned and explained before, the tickets must be paid at the time of reservations.
DAL VANGELO
Lc 9,28b-36.
"Beati i puri di cuore perché vedranno Dio"
"Prese con sè Pietro, Giacomo e Giovanni", sono i tre
apostoli che Gesù invita nei momenti particolarmente
belli e particolarmente tristi della sua vita. Sono gli
amici intimi ai quali ha rivelato le meraviglie della sua
divinità (Lc 9,28) e l’angoscia della sua umanità (Mc
14,33).
La trasfigurazione è un atto di fede, è un gesto di fiducia
che Gesù rivolge ai suoi amici e insieme una gioiosa
accettazione con cui gli amici rispondono all’invito
ricevuto dal Maestro. Dio si manifesta all’uomo sempre
in un momento di amicizia, anzi crea prima l’amicizia
con l’uomo per potergli poi rivelare la profondità dei
suoi segreti.
Gesù si trasfigura, si manifesta cioè per quello che è,
davanti agli amici, come si manifesterà dopo la
risurrezione alle persone che lo amano e non ai suoi
avversari. In questo modo la manifestazione di Dio non
è mai un’imposizione, e la conversione della vita
avverrà sempre in un clima di amore e non di forzatura.
I segreti di Dio, come i segreti dell’amore, vanno
annunciati e proclamati dopo un cammino di
conoscenza, dopo uno scambio di vita, dopo una
donazione reciproca che ha fatto cadere, ogni barriera.
Fa parte di questo clima l’invito di Gesù fatto agli amici
di non rivelare a nessuno la visione che avevano avuto
(Mc 9,9).
Tutte le rivelazioni più grandi, tutte le manifestazioni di
Dio, tutte le conoscenze che gli uomini hanno della
divinità vengono accompagnate dalla prescrizione del
silenzio, quasi a non violare il clima di intimità che
viene creato da questi eventi straordinari.
La trasfigurazione è forse uno dei culmini di questa
presenza di Dio; dunque non poteva sfuggire alla legge
del segreto, potendo solo essere raccontata all’orecchio
dell’amico, lontano da indiscrezioni o curiosità.
L’incontro con Dio non viene gridato sulle piazze, non
viene manifestato a tutti, ma trasmesso nell’intimità di
un contatto personale, discreto e tranquillo. "Ecco, sto
alla porta e busso. Se qualcuno ascolta la mia voce e
mi apre la porta, io verrò a lui e cenerò con lui ed egli
con me" (Ap 3,20).
La trasfigurazione, come la risurrezione, è
un’anticipazione del mondo nuovo, un preludio
dell’esperienza finale della verità. L’esperienza della
trasfigurazione, come lo sarà l’esperienza della
risurrezione, è eccezionale, fuori dal mondo intelligibile, non è razionale e non è del mondo dei sensi.
Per vivere la trasfigurazione, tutto deve essere capovolto
e trasformato, perché essa significa vedere Dio con gli
occhi del cuore, non con gli occhi dell’intelligenza, a
meno che non si tratti di un’intelligenza di amore:
"Beati i puri di cuore perché vedranno Dio" (Mt 5,8).
Per vedere Dio già nel nostro mondo, per contemplare il
bianco delle sue vesti, la trasparenza del suo volto, per
ascoltare la parola che invita a seguirlo, è necessario
chiudere i nostri sensi, aprire gli occhi del nostro spirito,
passare dal visibile all’invisibile e penetrare la realtà e
gli avvenimenti con gli stessi occhi di Dio.
"Beati i puri di cuore" significa giudicare il mondo con
la stessa giustizia di Dio, che ha come fondamento
l’amore e non accetta il legalismo degli scribi e dei
farisei.
"Beati i puri di cuore" significa disporre di spazi
infiniti e accettare l’idea che la nostra comunità o la
nostra chiesa è già larga come il mondo, è già universale
come Dio è universale.
"Beati i puri di cuore" significa che la verità di Dio non
viene ristretta a quella che noi possediamo o a quella
che noi difendiamo, spesso con la scusa di proteggere
Dio dal sincretismo o dal relativismo, mentre in realtà
ciò che ci spinge non è tanto il desiderio di proteggere
Dio quanto di proteggere noi stessi e il nostro quieto
vivere.
E così, l'uomo che ha più che mai bisogno di mistero, se
non lo trova là dove c'è (o ci dovrebbe essere), cioè nelle
cose sacre, che siano cose, dottrina o persone, lo va a
cercare dove non c'è: cioè presso maghi, cartomanti,
stregoni ...), che sono sempre più ricercati proprio
perché dispensatori di mistero (di bassissima lega, ma
per niente a buon mercato, anzi a carissimo prezzo,
mentre i misteri della fede, la Chiesa li dispensa
gratuitamente).
Questo evidentemente ci chiede una conversione, una
vera trasformazione che capovolga i nostri pensieri e il
nostro operare, e ci prepari il cuore ad accettare la
pasqua come vero passaggio del Signore che cambia
ogni uomo che si incontra con lui.
FESTA DI S. GIUSEPPE: Festa del papà italiano.
Il 16 Marzo, anticipando di tre giorni, festeggeremo S. Giuseppe, patrono della Chiesa, del Canada e, in Italia, del
Papà. Avremo l'occasione di trascorrere una serata in allegria con l'ottima cucina casareccia della parrocchia
accompagnata dalla musica di "Nostalgia". Come vi è stato annunciato e spiegato, al momento della prenotazione
si paga anche il biglietto (sono pronti!).
FROM THE GOSPEL Lk 9,28b-36.
Luke describes an incident in Christ's life of which only
Peter, James and John were witnesses. It took place on a
mountain. Some days previously Peter had confessed that
Christ was the "Messiah of God." Christ had then foretold
his passion and death at the hands of his enemies, to be
followed by his resurrection. He had encouraged his
disciples not to fear sufferings but to carry their cross and
so reach their glory as he was about to do.
However the disciples could not persuade themselves that
he who had shown such wonderful powers could allow
himself to be put to death by his enemies. This scene on
the mountain therefore, which is called the
Transfiguration, was intended by Christ to be an
encouragement to his disciples to remain steadfast in the
terrible test of faith which his passion and death was soon
to be for them.
He gave his disciples a glimpse of what his glorified
humanity would become after his ascension. "His face
shone as the sun," Matthew says. His garments also
became a brilliant white.
Moses and Elijah, in bodily form and "in glory" also, that
is, not exactly as they were when on earth but yet
recognizable, appeared talking with Christ. Moses
represented the Old Law, and Elias the prophets of the old
covenant.
This scene was so enthralling that Peter, in his simplicity,
wished to prolong it. He suggested that tents should be set
up so that they could remain there indefinitely. He was as
yet worldly-minded and did not realize that the place for
glory was in the future life.
The voice of God the Father proclaims Christ to be his
Son, a fact the disciples had not yet understood or
accepted. That he was the Messiah chosen and sent by God
they already had confessed and could grasp.
The scene was something they did not then understand, but
later, after the Resurrection and the Descent of the Holy
Spirit, they understood and told their followers all about it.
It was out of the abundance of his divine love that God
gave a glimpse of the future glory of Christ in his risen
humanity to the three disciples on that memorable
occasion. He understood the human weakness of the
disciples, and foresaw the shock to their faith which the
sad scenes of the passion and crucifixion of their beloved
Master would be some weeks later. So, to strengthen and
forearm them for that sad trial, he gave them a glimpse of
the future glory which was to be theirs, too, if they
persevered.
Like the Apostles, we, too, believe firmly in God. We, too,
are convinced that Christ was sent by God to bring us to
heaven. We now have much more convincing proof that
Christ was not only the Messiah, an envoy of God, but the
very Son of God---something the Apostles did not then
understand. But we are still very much like them in our
human weakness, and in our half-hearted acceptance of
God's purpose for and promises to us.
The Apostles had to face the awful test to their faith and
trust in God, which the passion and crucifixion of Christ
was for them. We now accept with gratitude and realize
that Christ "had to suffer and thus enter into his glory." We
even understand that the very purpose of Christ's passion
was that, in spite of our mortality and weakness, we also
might enter into eternal glory through his suffering, on
condition that we remain true to our faith.
In our moments of cool, calm reasoning we can see clearly
how good God has been to us, how wonderful his love
which has arranged for us an eternity of happiness, the
perfect fulfillment of every rational human desire. We can
also see how little God asks of us during our few short
years here, in return for the everlasting happy home he has
prepared for us.
"Lord, it is good for us to be here," it is wonderful to be
adopted sons of God on the road back to our Father. It is
wonderful to be assured that in death this body of ours
with its pains and aches, its attraction to earthly things and
worse still its propensity to sin, will give place to a
glorified body. This glorified body will be free from all
pain and corruption and will possess all the human
spiritual gifts of intelligence and will to so much greater a
degree as will enable us to appreciate and enjoy the eternal
happiness in store for us.

LENT
Con la Quaresima cerchiamo il Signore là dove si fa
trovare, doniamo ai fratelli il nostro amore anche
rinunciando a qualcosa.
Vi ricordo, come tradizione per la nostra comunità:
 Carità: Con il nostro contributo aiuteremo i poveri
lontani attraverso il movimento “Development &
Peace”.
 Preghiera, ogni venerdì VIA CRUCIS.
 Penitenza, non mangiare la carne il venerdì o un’altra
mortificazione (TV).
During the Lent we search for Jesus where he allows
us to find him, let’s give our brothers and sisters love
even if only by giving up something. I remind you of
the tradition for our community:

movement.
