SUNDAY
Today, we begin Holy Week, the Most Solemn time
of the year when we focus on the greatest mysteries
of our faith, the suffering death and resurrection of
Christ. Let us pray in a special way for all our
Catechumens and Candidates as they prepare for
the Easter sacraments.
HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE
PALM SUNDAY – regular Sunday Masses
4:00 p.m. Procession on St. Clair Ave. to St. Nicholas’
Church and back to St. Clare’s. Reception to follow at St.
Clare’s Church Hall.
Seder Supper - MONDAY, APRIL 2ND, 6:30 P.M.
We will be holding our Pot Luck Seder in the Parish Hall. Please
join us in this Christian Celebration of Passover, remembering the
Last Supper of Jesus and the Apostles. Please bring a dish of food
or dessert and a beverage to share with everyone. No pork meat,
please. The parish will provide lamb and fruit for everyone.

Through the generosity of a parishioner in the Archdiocese, all new

Clare’s, to St. Nicholas’, to St. John Bosco, returning to St. Clare’s
before midnight; tracing the steps of Jesus from the Garden to
Caiaphas’ house, to Pilate and then to Golgotha).
GOOD FRIDAY – April 6 (day of fasting and abstinence)

7:00 p.m. - Candlelight procession to St. Thomas Aquinas Church
- Bishop McGratten will join us for the procession.
HOLY SATURDAY – April 7
9:00 a.m. – HOUR OF THE MOTHER
2:00 p.m. – Blessing of your Easter Baskets (containing food
for your Easter table) – outside on church steps
8:00 p.m. - Bilingual Easter Vigil
Reception in the Hall afterwards. We are asking for an offering of
sweets, if you can.

Thank You for contributing to the 1st of 3 Sharelife
Collections, and thanks to your generosity, we were able
to raise $12,605.00 so far, that will be distributed to
Sharelife’s 34 agencies!

children of all ages. We will meet in the
church for a time of dialogue, singing and
Easter joy. Then the egg hunt begins!)

New Beginnings
New Beginnings is sponsoring 4 sessions on grief and faith, using
the video “No-one cries the Wrong Way”. The group meets for
the 3rd of these 4 sessions on Tuesday, April 10th at 7:30 p.m. in
the meeting room.
“They stuck by me so many times. They could have just closed
the doors and said, ‘You’re too much to handle.’ I had a bad
attitude. I didn’t want to follow the rules. I had no structure. But
they stuck by me and when I had my son in the hospital, they
were there to make sure that CAS was on my side and did not
take my son. My son saved me. If he wasn’t here, I don’t think I
would be here either." ShareLife agencies provided
counseling, support and community education to more
than 8,300 young people last year – offering personal and
group counseling to 1,674 pregnant youth and young
mothers who turned to them for help.
PARISH ANNIVERSARY
On August 11, 2013, our parish will celebrate its 100th
Anniversary. A subcommittee from the parish council will be
meeting with parish volunteers who wish to be involved in the
preparation events and programs leading to that special day.
Planning meetings will commence on Thursday, April 12th, at 7:30
p.m. in the parish meeting room. Everyone is welcome. Bring
your ideas and suggestions.
Pilgrimage to the Shrines of Quebec – Leaving Tuesday,
July 24th and going to Montreal where we’ll have an opportunity
to stop and visit the Old City. In the morning, Mass at St.
Joseph’s oratory, and then leaving for the Shrine of Our Lady of
the Cape. The following day, feast of St. Anne and St. Joachim,
we will spend the morning in Quebec City, continuing in the
afternoon to the great Shrine of St. Anne for the various
celebrations. We will be returning Friday evening, July 27. The
cost for travel, 3 night hotel, 3 breakfasts and one lunch is
$499.00 for double room occupancy, $549.00 for single.
Pilgrimage to Martyr’s Shrine Midland
Our parish will be going on Pilgrimage to the Martyrs’ Shrine in
Midland, Ontario on Monday, August 6th. We will be leaving St.
Clare’s Church at 8:00 a.m. and will be back in Toronto by 7:00
p.m. that evening. Tickets are $35 each and may be purchased in
the parish office during the week from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

MIRACOLI NELLA NOSTRA COMUNITÀ….
“Non mi hanno abbandonato. Potevano chiudere la porta e dire,
‘Non ti possiamo aiutare.’ Avevo un male atteggiamento. Non
volevo seguire le regole. Non avevo strutture. Con tutto ciò, non
mi hanno abbandonato e quando è nato mio figlio in ospedale,
erano ancora accanto a me per assicurarsi che Children’s Aid
Society (la società per il soccorso dei minorenni) mi aiutasse e che
non avrebbero permesso che si prendevono mio figlio. Mio figlio
mi ha salvato. Se non fosse per lui, non penso che ci sarei
neanch’io. L’anno scorso, le agenzie di ShareLife hanno
provveduto consiglio, appoggio e vari istruzioni e
insegnamenti a più di 8,300 giovani – offrendo consigli
individuali e in gruppo a 1,674 giovani ragazze che si sono
trovate incinte, come anche per giovane mamme che si
sono rivolte a Sharelife per aiuto.
Domenica delle Palme
Oggi iniziamo la Settimana Santa, il tempo più solenne dell’anno
quando riflettiamo su i grandi misteri della nostra fede: la Passione,
Morte e Risurrezione di Cristo. Preghiamo, in particolar modo, per
tutti i nostri catecumeni e candidati che si preparano a ricevere i
Sacramenti Pasquali.

Pellegrinaggio ai Santuari di Quebec
Partenza, martedì, 24 luglio con ritorno venerdì sera, 27 luglio. Il
costo del biglietto include il viaggio, 3 pernottamenti in hotel, 3
colazioni ed un pranzo. $ 499 a persona (camera doppia), o $549
(camera singola).

Andremo in pellegrinaggio al Santuario dei Martiri a Midland, lunedì, 6
agosto. Partiremo dalla chiesa alle 8 a.m. con ritorno a Toronto per le 7
p.m. Il prezzo dei biglietti è $35 e possono essere prelevati in ufficio
durante la settimana, dalle 9 a.m. alle 5 p.m.
ANNIVERSARIO DELLA PARROCCHIA
Domenica, 11 agosto, 2013, la nostra parrocchia celebrerà il 100o
anniversario. Un sottocomitato dal consiglio parrocchiale si riunirà’
con volontari che desiderono aiutare con i preparativi. Venite alla
riunione del 12 aprile alle 7:30 p.m. nella saletta parocchiale.
