lessandrojacopo Boncompagni Ludovisi è il nuovo principe del vino romano. Ha ereditato
dal cugino Alberico la storia di Fiorano, uno dei pochi grandi vini italiani degli anni ‘60:
giovanissimo, nel 1999 ha inziato a reimpiantare la storica vigna di famiglia nella tenuta alle porte di
Roma. Presenta le annate del nuovo corso prodotte nello stesso luogo e dalle stesse persone seguendo
con passione e precisione le indicazioni del maestro. I vini sono ottenuti da un piccolo vigneto di circa
5 ettari che riprende tutte le impostazioni che hanno reso Fiorano una leggenda. Seguendo le
indicazioni di Alberico il giovane Alessandrojacopo ha modificato solo la composizione del bianco che
ora è ottenuto da ghechetto e viognier mentre il rosso resta quel perfetto binomio tra cabernet
sauvignon, in maggioranza, e merlot. La conduzione del vigneto è, questa sì, assolutamente naturale
e la vinificazione viene effettuata in botti di rovere di Slavonia dalla capacità di 10 ettolitri dove il vino
matura fino all’imbottigliamento.

lessandrojacopo Boncompagni is the new prince of Roman wines. He inherited the history of Fiorano,
one of the great Italian wines of the 60s, from his cousin Alberico. In 1999, when he was very young,
he started to replant the historic family vineyard in the estate on the outskirts of Rome. He presented the new
vintage wines that had been produced in the same place by the same people by following the exact directions of
the expert. The wines come from a small vineyard of about 5 hectares that follows all the recommendations that
made Fiorano become a legend. By following Alberico’s instructions, young Alessandrojacopo only changed the
composition of the white wine which is now made from ghecchetto and viognier, whereas the red wine is still
that same coupling of a larger proportion of cabernet sauvignon and merlot. The care of the vineyard is totally
natural and the vinification comes about in Slavonia oak barrels of 10 hectalitre capacity, where the wine ages
before being bottled.

a uve grechetto e viognier, maturato “sur lies” in botti di
rovere e di castagno da 10 ettolitri. Il colore è giallo
dorato chiaro, segno di una lieve permanenza sulle bucce. I
profumi sono di sorprendente complessità, minerali, intensi ma
eleganti, con un frutto piacevole e non troppo maturo, pesca
bianca, nespola, forse mandorla fresca, poi pietra focaia, fiori di
genziana. Sapore equilibrato, morbido, sapido, perfettamente
sostenuto da un’acidità salmastra e mediterranea. Un bianco che
promette di evolvere benissimo.

iorano Bianco is made from grechetto and viognier grapes and
aged “sur lies” in oak and chestnut barrels of 10 hectolitres.
The color is light golden yellow, a sign of slight maceration. The aromas
are of surprising complexity, mineral, intense but elegant, with a pleasant
and not too ripe fruit, white peach, medlar, perhaps fresh almonds, then
flint and gentian flowers. Such a balanced flavor, soft, fruity, perfectly
supported by a briny and Mediterranean acidity. A white wine that
promises to evolve very well.

a uve cabernet sauvignon e merlot, maturato in vecchi
fusti di rovere di Slavonia da 10 ettolitri. Colore rubino
vivo ed intenso, di media concentrazione. Profumi davvero
complessi ed articolati, note austere di goudron, lievi toni appena
affumicati, poi balsamici, con accenni di cassis e mirtilli che si
fondono in uno spettro olfattivo ampio e di straordinaria eleganza.
Setoso, armonico, pieno all’assaggio, con tannini appena accennati,
di grana finissima, privi di qualunque concessione ed elementi
legnosi. Finale agile e sottile, di ottima persistenza.

articulated, austere notes of tar, mild slightly smoked tones, then balsamic,
with hints of cassis and blueberries that blend in an extraordinarily
elegant wide range of aromas. Silky, harmonious, full-tasting, with a
slight hint of tannins, of fine texture, without any concessions and woody
elements. Thin, agile finish of excellent persistence.
