Campaign 2007
On Saturday, February 10th, we will be celebrating the Feast of
Our Lady of Lourdes, which is designated as world day for the
Sick. We will be celebrating Mass at 10:00 a.m., for the sick
and suffering members of our community. We especially
encourage parishioners to bring any shut-ins they have at
home to Mass that morning. Refreshments will be served
afterwards. To the sick in our parish, we offer our prayers for
your well-being and ask the Lord to enkindle in you, a courage
and hope beyond all measure. To health care workers in our
midst – a heart-felt thanks.
Our Capital Campaign to undertake the major repairs of our
church is moving along very well. To date we’ve collected over
$93,000. We still have a long way to go and the sooner we can
collect the necessary funds, the sooner we’ll be able to commence
the work (without taking out a loan and paying interest). Please
join in this great effort to save and improve our beautiful church.
We’re asking you to make a big sacrifice. If every individual or
family would consider offering $1,000, we’ll be able to reach our
goal. Some can give more, some less. Whatever you give is
greatly appreciated and will go a long way. Envelopes are
available at the entrance of the church. Pass them to your
relatives, friends, acquaintances, co-workers, former parishioners,

Evening Conference on the Sacrament of
Anointing of the Sick
With World Day of the Sick drawing near we’re brought to think
about the Anointing of the Sick. Those of us who are older may
remember it as Extreme Unction. The name says it all. It was the
anointing given to a person who was about to die. Because we
looked on the sacrament in that way, many of us grew to fear this
sacrament. But things are different today. We have a new name
for the sacrament and a new understanding of its purpose. It is
now called 'The Anointing of the Sick'. We now see it as a
sacrament of healing. Come find out more about this Sacrament
on Tuesday, February 6 at 7 p.m.
Scriptural Reflection Group
This week’s Scriptural Reflection Group will participate in the
Conference on the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.
Parish Council Meeting
Our Parish Council meets on Wednesday, February 7th at 7 p.m.
in our Meeting Room.

The 55+ group will be meeting this Thursday, February 8th at
9:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall. All the young at heart are invited!

Family Mass
On Sunday, February 18th, we will not be having the Children’s
Liturgy at either of the Masses. Instead, we invite all the children
to come for a “Family Mass” at 9:15 a.m.
The 9th Annual St. Clare’s Parish
Pancake Breakfast is set for Sunday,

On Monday, February 19th at 7:00 p.m., we will be celebrating
a special “Explained” Mass and Church Tour. This means Mass
with pauses to explain certain actions. The Church Tour will
give us an explanation of the various articles and their uses in

5a Domenica dell’Anno
“Prendi il largo e calate le reti”. Se Gesù manda i suoi a pesca di uomini, è
perché essi per primi sono stati presi nella rete della sua parola. Si apre
quindi davanti a loro l’avventura della fede: devono accettare il rischio di
levare le ancore, di lasciare la sicurezza del porto per andare là dove soffia
lo Spirito. Dopo essere stati catturati, devono a loro volta diventare
pescatori, senza temere la fatica, come veri apostoli; se mai, faranno
segno ai compagni dell’altra barca – a noi – di andare ad aiutarli.
Campagna 2007
La nostra campagna per intrapendere le grande riparazioni della chiesa sta
andando bene. Fin oggi, abbiamo raccolto più di $93,000, ma ancora
abbiamo tanta strada da fare. Più presto raccogliamo questi fondi, più
presto possiamo incominciare con questi lavori (senza prendere in prestito
e pagare interessi). Uniamoci tutti per questo grande sacrificio di salvare
ed abbellire la nostra chiesa. Se ogni individuo o famiglia potrebbe offrire
$1,000, potreremo arrivare alla nostra meta. C’è chi può fare di più, c’è
chi può fare di meno, ma quello che date è molto apprezzato. Le buste
opposite per questa colletta sono sempre all’entrata della chiesa.
Informate i vostri parenti, amici, conoscenti, colleghi di lavoro e primi
parrocchiani, ecc… Grazie.

20 Sabati della Madonna di Pompeii
Per la devozione della Nostra Signora di Pompeii, continuamo con il rosario
in chiesa ogni sabato mattino alle 8:15 a.m, fino al 5 maggio quando si
farà la supplica alla Madonna.
Conferenza Serale sul Sacramento
dell’Unzione degli Ammalati
Con l’avvicinamento del Giorno Mondiale degli Ammalati, ci porta a pensare
dell’Unzione degli Ammalati. Per quelli di noi che siamo più anziani,
ricordiamo che questo sacramento si chiamava Exreme Unzione.
Quest’espressione dice tutto. Era l’unzione data alla persona che stava per
morire. Dato che tanti di noi la vediamo in questo modo, siamo cresciuti
con la paura di questo sacramento. Oggi, la pensiamo diversamente.
Abbiamo un nuovo nome per questo sacramento e una nuova
comprensione del suo scopo.
Adesso si chiama, “L’Unzione degli
Ammalati”, il quale è riconosciuto come Sacramento della Guarizione.
Venite martedì, 6 febbraio alle 7 p.m., per scoprire di più su questo
Sacramento.

Il Consiglio Parrocchiale si riunisce mercoledì, 7 febbraio alle 7 p.m. nella
Saletta delle Adunanze.
Gruppo 55 e Più
Il Gruppo 55 anni e più si riunisce questo giovedì, 8 febbraio alle 9:30
a.m. nella Sala Parrocchiale. Chi fosse interessato(a), è benvenuto(a).
Unzione degli Ammalati
Celebriamo la festa della Madonna di Lourdes sabato, 10 febbraio alle
10:00 a.m. Questo giorno è considerato dalla Chiesa cattolica giorno di
preghiera per tutti gli ammalati. La Messa sarà celebrate con Unzione
Sacramentale per tutte le persone della nostra parrocchia che sono
ammalate o sofferenti. Vi incoraggiamo a portare in chiesa i vostri cari
ammalati che hanno difficoltà a venire da soli. Dopo Messa, vi sarà un
piccolo rinfresco nella sala. Agli ammalati della nostra parrocchia, offriamo
le nostre preghiere per il vostro benessere e preghiamo che il Signore vi
riempia di ogni coraggio e speranza. Per coloro che tengono cura dei
nostri cari ammalati – un caloroso ringraziamento di vero cuore.
9a COLAZIONE ANNUALE A SANTA CHIARA
SUNDAY
Faremo la 9a Colazione Annuale qui a S. Chiara, domenica mattina, 18
febbraio, dalle 8:30 fino a Mezzogiorno nella Sala della Chiesa. Per
soltanto $3 farete una bella colazione con pancakes, salciccie, succo
d’arancia e caffé. I biglietti saranno in vendita oggi, dopo Messa. Non

WOMENS' LENTEN RETREAT WEEKEND - March 2-4, 2007 at Queen of Apostles Renewal Centre, Mississauga. The theme for this retreat is "EXPLORING THE GRACE
