Dear friends,
Greetings from all of us, staff and children of Snehalaya!
It gives me great pleasure to share with you the activities of
Snehalaya during the past few months. Snehalaya Day was
celebrated on January 10, marking the completion of 14 years of its
service to children in need of care and protection.
This year, our HSLC candidates have made us proud. They passed
the HSLC Examinations with flying colours with 7 first divisions
and 3 second divisions, which includes 4 distinctions. This year
there were 10 candidates in all.
I would also like to share with you about the senior secondary
students; Moon Moon Ghosh who has passed class XII and is
already training to be a flight attendant and Maloti Hemrom
promoted to Class 12 who wants to be a nurse.

An exposure trip to Delhi and Agra was organised for our HSLC
candidates after their exams. They were accompanied by their
counsellors, Mr. Richard Johnson Claridge and Ms. Baby Rabha.
In March 7 of our girls, Sonia, Minati Das, Priya, Moromi, Divya,
Monica and Filula were job placed in Kitex Company, Aluva,
Kerala. They are the 2nd batch from Snehalaya to join this garment

manufacturing company, drawing a salary of Rs. 7000/- per
month with free food and accommodation.
During the first half of this year 28 lost and runaway children were reunited
with their families. One such case of abandoned children came to us on 4th of
March 2015. These children were siblings, by the name Akash, aged 7 and
Barsha, aged 6, their mother having abandoned them in the railway station.
I am giving you all these information so that you understand how important
your help is and how much GOOD comes from it.

Cari amici,
Saluti a voi tutti noi, lo staff e I bambini di Snehalaya!
Mi fa molto piacere condividere con voi le attività di Snehalaya degli ultimi mesi. La
giornata di Snehalaya è stata celebrate il 10 gennaio segnando il completamento di
14 anni al servizio dei bambini bisognosi di cure e protezione.
Quest’anno gli esaminandi ci hanno reso orgogliosi. Hanno passato gli esami di
HSLC con ottimi voti, sette in prima divisione e 3 in seconda divisione, tra questi ci
sono state quattro distinzioni. In totale I candidate erano 10.
Vorrei condividere con voi anche le notizie riguardanti I ragazzi più grandi. Moon
Moon Gosh ha passato la classe 12^ e ha già iniziato il corso per assistente di volo
mentre Maloti Hemrom è stata promossa in 12^ e vorrebbe diventare infermiera.
Dopo gli esami è stata organizzata una gita a Delhi e ad Agra per i ragazzi. Sono
stati accompagnati dai loro consulenti Mr Richard Johnson Claridge e Ms Baby
Rabha.
A marzo sette delle nostre ragazze: Sonia, Minati Das, Priya, Moromi, Divya, Monica
e Filula sono state assunte alla Kitex di Aluva in Kerala. Sono il secondo gruppo che
viene assunto da questa fabbrica d’abbigliamento con uno stipendio mensile di
7.000 rupie vitto e alloggio compresi.
Durante la prima metà di quest’anno 28 bambini che si erano perduti o erano
fuggiti di casa sono stati riuniti alle loro famiglie. Uno di questi casi di abbandono è
datato 4 marzo. Due fratelli Akash di 7 anni e Barsha di 6 abbandonati dalla madre
alla stazione ferroviaria.
Condivido con voi queste notizie perché comprendiate quanto sia importante il
vostro aiuto e quanto Bene ne derivi.
