“abgenutzte” Warnung wäre wahrscheinlich unbemerkt
geblieben, wenn sie nicht während der Miss Italia Wahl
im Fernsehen von einer zwanzigjährigen Kandidatin aus Venetien
gesagt worden wäre.Das bedeutet Hoffnung für unsere
vom “Autokrieg” gemarterte Region. Diese Aussage bestärkt
unsere Absicht, uns intensiv für weitere Kampagnen zur
Unfallvorbeugung und Verkehrssicherheit einzusetzen, was wir
mit dieser Ausgabe von Veicolare beweisen.

“Don’t drink and drive, save your own life”. A tired old admonition
that’s been heard a million times and wouldn’t have much effect if it
hadn’t been given during the live broadcast of the Miss Italia pageant
by a 20-year-old contestant from the Veneto.
An important signal of hope, because ours is the region that is most
effected by the “battle” - for indeed the numbers suggest nothing
less than a war - against vehicular accidents. A signal that strengthens
our conviction to create and disseminate highway safety campaigns,
to which this issue of Veicolare is dedicated.
Editoriale
“Non bere, guidare lucidi e avere cura della propria vita”. Monito “usurato”, sentito innumerevoli
volte, che forse non farebbe effetto, se a pronunciarlo non fosse stata, durante una diretta televisiva
di Miss Italia, una candidata al titolo, ventenne, veneta.
Un segnale, una speranza, perché proprio la nostra regione è una delle più martoriate dalla “guerra”,
perché i numeri purtroppo assomigliano terribilmente a questo, degli incidenti stradali.
Un segnale che rafforza la nostra convinzione per l’ideazione e la promozione di Campagne
di prevenzione degli incidenti, a favore della sicurezza stradale, di cui questo numero di Veicolare
vuol essere testimonianza.

Il titolo di questa pagina non è uno slogan, anche se potrebbe esserlo. È, invece, il titolo del programma
di sicurezza stradale permanente, messo in atto dalla Società Autostrada Brescia Verona Vicenza Padova,
al fine di sensibilizzare i propri utenti, ma non solo, contro i comportamenti pericolosi alla guida.
Per la Società Bs-Pd, sicurezza stradale è da sempre sinonimo di cura e manutenzione delle proprie
infrastrutture, attenzione alle innovazioni tecnologiche in grado di migliorare la sicurezza attiva e passiva
lungo i 182 km dei tratti autostradali di competenza, ovverosia oltre ai 146 km
della Brescia-Padova, i 36 km dell’autostrada A31 Valdastico.
Ciononostante abbiamo la piena consapevolezza, avvalorata dalle casistiche degli incidenti, che il fattore umano
è quasi sempre prevalente nelle origini degli incidenti.
Per questo motivo, nel corso degli anni, la Società Brescia-Padova, ha ideato e sostenuto, nel tempo, tramite
affissioni, pubblicità su quotidiani e riviste, distribuzione di video, gadget e magliette, oltre che la
partecipazione a convegni e dibattiti, diverse Campagne di educazione stradale e per la sicurezza volte
soprattutto ad evidenziare i comportamenti pericolosi alla guida.
La nostra attenzione, su consiglio di molti esperti del settore, si è particolarmente concentrata su quattro fattori:
l’alta velocità, il mancato uso delle cinture di sicurezza, le distanze di sicurezza, la guida in stato di ebbrezza
o sotto l’effetto di sostanze stupefacenti.
Tuttavia, specie tramite questo opuscolo, non abbiamo mancato di mettere in evidenza altri comportamenti
pericolosi, nel corso degli anni entrati a far parte delle norme del Codice della strada, quali ad esempio,
l’uso dei telefonini senza auricolare, il mancato uso della prima corsia, la mancata revisione periodica della

propria autovettura, comportamenti che, se messi in atto oggi, verrebbero sanzionati.
Il lavoro sin qui svolto si pone, peraltro, perfettamente in linea con quanto auspicato anche
in un documento promosso dal Vaticano, ove s’invita, ciascuno nell’ambito delle proprie competenze - ad
“operare al fine di creare una coscienza generale e pubblica per quel che riguarda la sicurezza stradale
e promuovere, con tutti i mezzi, una corrispondente e adeguata educazione dei conducenti”…al fine di
“suscitare una rinnovata presa di coscienza degli obblighi inerenti alla strada e della responsabilità morale
circa la trasgressione delle norme stradali”.
Nelle pagine che seguono riassumeremo, mostrandovi foto e disegni, quanto fatto finora, a partire
dalla prima Campagna di educazione stradale, volta in particolare contro l’alta velocità, uno dei problemi
che il rinnovato Codice della strada e la patente a punti sono riusciti in parte a contenere ma non a ridurre
in maniera significativa e che rimane tra le cause primarie di incidenti mortali e con feriti gravi.
I limiti di velocità attuali, infatti, sono abbondantemente al di sotto delle potenzialità che la maggior parte
delle vetture offrono oggi a chi le acquista. Pur essendo dotate di molti sistemi di sicurezza passiva
e di assistenza automatica, le moderne autovetture non riescono ancora a valutare la capacità di guida
e di reazione dei singoli automobilisti, anche se le case automobilistiche stanno sperimentando prototipi
in grado di prendere decisioni “autonome”.
In attesa di acquistare le auto del domani è bene, per la sicurezza Vostra, dei Vostri passeggeri e degli altri
automobilisti, fare attenzione alle pagine che seguono, che iniziano con la presentazione della Campagna di
educazione stradale 1997.

The title of this page is not a slogan, though it could be. It is instead
the title of the permanent highway safety program established by
the Società Autostrada Brescia Verona Vicenza Padova, with the
aim of educating its users - and others as well - about dangerous
driving habits. For the Società Bs-Pd, traffic safety has always been
synomymous with the care and maintenance of its infrastructures,
and attention to technological innovations capable of improving
active and passive safety along the 182 km of highway for which we
are responsible, or more exactly, the 146 km of the Brescia-Padova
and the 36 km of the A31 Valdastico.
Nevertheless, we are fully aware that a safe infrastructure is not
enough, for the statistics show that the human factor is nearly
always prevalent in the cause of accidents.
For this reason, the Società Brescia-Padova has over the years
created and implemented numerous driver education campaigns
against dangerous driving habits, communicating by way of
posters, newspaper and magazine adverts and the distribution of
videos, t-shirts and promotional gifts, not to mention participation
in conferences and debates.
On the advice of numerous experts in the field, we concentrated our
attention on four factors: excessive velocity, safety belt use,
maintaining a safe distance between vehicles, and driving under
the influence of alcohol or drugs.
We have also used the pages of this publication to draw attention
to other dangerous habits that have over the years been
incorporated into the highway safety code, such as using cell

permanenten Programmes für Verkehrssicherheit, das die
Autobahngesellschaft Brescia Verona Vicenza Padua umsetzt, um die
Benutzer, aber nicht nur diese, vor gefährlichem Verhalten am Steuer
zu warnen. Für die Autobahngesellschaft BS-PD ist
Verkehrssicherheit Synonym für Pflege und Wartung der
Infrastrukturen und Aufmerksamkeit für technologische
Errungenschaften, durch die aktive und passive Sicherheit auf den
182 km Autobahn, d.h. den 146 km zwischen Brescia und Padua und
den 36 km der A31 Valdastico, verbessert werden kann. Trotzdem
sind wir uns bewusst, dass der menschliche Faktor fast allen Unfällen
zugrunde liegt. Daher hat die Gesellschaft Brescia-Padua in den
letzten Jahren verschiedene Kampagnen über Verkehrssicherheit ins
Leben gerufen und gefördert, durch Plakate, Werbung in Zeitschriften
und Zeitungen, durch die Verteilung von Videos, T-Shirts und
Gadgets, sowie Veranstaltungen und Rundtischdiskussionen, um die
Verkehrsteilnehmer zur Sicherheit zu erziehen und gefährliches
Verhalten am Steuer aufzuzeigen. Unsere Aufmerksamkeit richtet
sich, auf Anraten verschiedener Verkehrsexperten, auf vier Faktoren:
hohe Geschwindigkeit, Nichtbenutzung der Sicherheitsgurte,
Sicherheitsabstand, Alkoholgenuss und Drogenmissbrauch am
Steuer. In diesem Heft, wie schon öfters, haben wir allerdings auch
andere gefährliche Verhaltensweisen aufgezeigt, die mit der Zeit von
der Verkehrsordnung übernommen worden sind: Handybenutzung
ohne Freisprechanlage beim Fahren, nicht rechts fahren, mangelnde
Wartung des Fahrzeugs, alles, was zum Glück heute strafbar ist.

phones without an earpiece, failing to stay in the right lane, failing
to keep one’s car properly maintained - all practices which today
are punishable by law. The work conducted thus far is perfectly in
line with the recent recommendations from the Vatican, which
published a document inviting all concerned to “work toward the
goal of creating a general public awareness of highway safety, and
to use all means available to provide a corresponding education for
drivers”…with the aim of “fostering a renewed sense of the
obligations inherent in operating a vehicle and the moral
responsibility for the transgression of highway laws”.
In the pages that follow we will show, using photos and
illustrations, what has thus far been done, starting with the latest
driver education campaign against speeding, one of the problems
that the revised highway code and the new driver license with
penalty points have succeeded in partially curbing but not
significantly reducing, and which remains among the primary
causes of traffic deaths and severe injuries.
The current speed limits are well below the engine power of the
majority of automobiles on the market. While equipped with many
passive safety and automatic assistance systems, today’s
automobiles still cannot evaluate the driving abilities and reaction
times of individual drivers, although auto manufacturers are
developing prototypes that would be capable of making
“autonomous” decisions.
But while waiting for the cars of tomorrow, we invite our readers,
for the safety of themselves, their passengers and other drivers, to
pay attention to the pages that follow, starting with the
presentation of the driver education campaigns of 1997.
Unsere bisher geleistete Aufklärungsarbeit ist allerdings auch vom
Vatikan anerkannt worden mit dem Dokument, in dem jeder im
Bereich seiner Zuständigkeit eingeladen wird, zur Förderung des
allgemeinen öffentlichen Gewissens für Verkehrssicherheit
beizutragen und die Fahrer angemessen zu erziehen, um “sie auf das
Bewusstsein für richtiges Verhalten im Straßenverkehr und die
moralische Verpflichtung zur Einhaltung der Verkehrsvorschriften”
aufmerksam zu machen. Auf den folgenden Seiten eine
Zusammenfassung, mit Fotos und Zeichnungen, der bisher
geleisteten Aufklärungsarbeit, insbesondere die letzte Kampagne
gegen zu schnelles Fahren, ein Verhalten, dass das neue
Verkehrsgesetz und das Punktesystem auf dem Führerschein
teilweise reduziert, aber immer noch nicht ausreichend bekämpft hat
und das immer noch unter den wichtigsten Ursachen von schweren
und tödlichen Unfällen ist. Die heutigen Geschwindigkeitsvorschriften
liegen weit unter den Höchstgeschwindigkeiten, die die meisten
Fahrzeuge ihren Besitzern heute bieten. Trotz der zahlreichen
passiven Sicherheitsvorrichtungen und automatischen
Unterstützungssystemen können die modernen Fahrzeuge immer
noch nicht bewerten, wie groß die aktuellen Fähigkeiten und das
Reaktionsvermögen des Fahrers ist, auch wenn viele
Fahrzeughersteller versuchen, Prototypen zu testen, die
“autonome” Entscheidungen treffen können. Während wir also
darauf warten, dass Auto von morgen beim Händler abzuholen,
können wir, für unsere Sicherheit, für die der Passagiere und der
anderen Fahrer, die folgenden Seiten aufmerksam durchlesen,
auf denen wir mit der Präsentation unserer Sicherheitskampagne
1997 beginnen möchten.

si propongono di “scuotere” le coscienze di quanti riflettono poco
sulle conseguenze dei loro comportamenti al volante, cercando di destare
l’attenzione degli utenti per l’originalità e l’innovatività della proposta,
discontinua rispetto alla riproposizione, a volte inutilmente ossessionante,
di immagini choccanti o di presunto forte impatto, che purtroppo nel corso
degli anni sono entrate a far parte ormai di una rassegnata quotidianità.

sollen das Gewissen derjenigen “wecken”, die wenig über die
Konsequenzen ihres Verhaltens am Steuer nachdenken. Wir haben
versucht, originell und innovativ zu sein und uns von anderen
Kampagnen zu unterscheiden, die manchmal zu stark wirken oder
schockierende Bilder zeigen, um die Fahrer “aufzurütteln”, was bei
diesen durch die alltägliche Konfrontation mit den Jahren eher
Gewöhnung oder sogar Widerstand hervorgerufen hat.

who think too little about the consequences of their behaviour behind
the wheel, capturing their attention with originality and innovation,
