The exhibition is open to the general public from 13th May to 28th August, 2005 in its European preview. The entire Star Wars universe, ranging from the scenarios, the characters, the costumes, and the spacecraft will be presented on a surface area covering 1,200 square metres, using approximately two hundred and fifty various objects and original drawings coming from the LucasFilm studios (Lucas Valley, San Francisco, USA). Exhibits and evidence of the production of all six films - including completely unreleased parts from the last episode - will be displayed on a tour that is both spectacular and fantastic, and at the same time will highlight the imaginative value they assume in cinema fiction and the high technical skills of their creators and producers. The exhibition includes a number of sections with special video and audio effects, in addition to interactive areas where the visitor can compete with the strength of the Jedi or witness a dual fought with laser swords. In addition, the exhibition tries to create characters and scenarios, illustrating their development from the conceptual drawings and rendering models and the computer created images. 2 PRESS RELEASE THE LIGHTING PROJECT DISANO ILLUMINAZIONE has offered a significant contribution to the preparation of the event. The exhibition is illuminated using Vision spotlights produced by Fosnova, (Disano illuminazione brand) selected by the architect Alessandro Pedretti, the designer of the exhibition's staging layout, as well as the designer of the spotlights in question. The Vision spotlights are used in their highest performance version, with the addition of profilers to ensure a perfect calibration of the light beam. The variety of the materials on exhibition (scene costumes, objects, set designs, etc.) required a complex lighting project, capable of ensuring the maximum visibility of the items on display, but also to create stimulating and exciting scenarios for the visitor. The staging layout has the appearance of a show where the principal players are on stage against a backdrop rich in evocative fascination and atmosphere that take us on a fictitious adventure and to a galactic landscape. DISANO FOR ART AND CULTURE The sponsorship of the Milanese exhibition is part of a long-term commitment by Disano in the art and cultural heritage sector. Among the more recent initiatives it is important to mention the sponsorship of the major retrospective exhibition dedicated to GIOVANNI BOLDINI at Palazzo Zabarella in Padua currently open until next 12th June. Disano is also the technical sponsor of the ‘Appuntamenti a Ca’ Pesaro’ (Appointments at Ca’ Pesaro), an innovative cultural tour, precisely structured using lights, organised inside the International Gallery of Modern Art in Venice. The Milanese company has also contributed to the implementation of EXPA, the first gallery dedicated to contemporary architecture, graphic art and design in South Italy, and recently inaugurated in Palermo in the ancient stables of Palazzo Cefala. And again in the Sicilian provincial capital, the Vision spotlights were also selected to illuminate a major exhibition at ‘Palazzo dei Normanni’ (Norman Palace): The Wurth collection. Masterpieces of impressionism and expressionism. Finally, it is important to remember that Disano has implemented lighting systems for a number of the most important Italian artistic and monumental sites, these include the ‘VALLE DEI TEMPLI’ (Valley of the Temples) in Agrigento and the ‘CAPPELLA DEGLI SCROVEGNI’ (SCROVEGNI CHAPEL) in Padua, which represent outstanding examples.
