The Breakdown
• Adverbs describe how or when the action of a verb takes place
• -Mente is equivalent to –ly in English (ex. Sinceramente = Sincerely)
• When verbs have different endings, there are different ways to form
the adverb:
– Ends in “e”- add “mente” to the end.
– Ends in “o”- change to “a” and add “mente”.
– Ends in “le” or “re”- drop the “e” and add “mente”.

• The adverb non is placed before the verb and mai after the verb.

• If you do something well or badly, use bene or male.
