From 4 to 11 of June the OBESSU event "Education in Crisis" will discuss how the financial crisis in Europe has affected education. OBESSU Political Platform states: Education is the only way of solving the crisis. Still, in times of crisis, many governments in Europe have decided not to invest in education, but the opposite. For this reason, OBESSU is giving the school student representatives from all over Europe the chance to map the situation and find out if the financial crisis has also lead to an educational crisis. The conference will bring together participants from OBESSU Member and Candidate Organisations as well as local Italian school student councils to come up with strategies on how to tackle the crisis and its effects on education. Why is there a financial crisis? Why do governments privatize education? What does commodification of education mean? What can OBESSU and its Member and Candidate organisations do together to change the direction education is going? Who? We hereby open a Call for a maximum of two participants for each Member and Candidate organisation of OBESSU. We remind you that OBESSU is a strong supporter of gender equality and encourages you to bear this in mind when composing your delegation. th th THE DEADLINE IS 10th May 2014 At midnight (CET) Questions?
