GRASPALONGA GOURMET Castelvetro in BIKE! - MAGGIO
Un weekend all’insegna della natura, dello sport, dell’enogastronomia e della cultura, nei suggestivi itinerari ciclo-turistici del territorio di Castelvetro “Le Strade
del Grasparossa”. Percorso facile in bicicletta, adatto ad adulti non particolarmente
esperti e bambini, con tappe di degustazione presso aziende agricole e agriturismi locali.
MERCURDO Biennale dell’Assurdo - GIUGNO (anni dispari)
Il primo week end di giugno nel centro storico di Castelvetro si assisterà a spettacoli, performances, mostre tutti dedicati al tema dell’Assurdo. Nelle vie del centro
si potranno acquistare oggetti strani e inusuali nelle bancarelle rigorosamente selezionate dall’associazione Mercurdo.
JAZZ FESTIVAL - Campo San Rocco, Levizzano Rangone - LUGLIO
Rassegna internazionale di musica Jazz. Nella cornice suggestiva dell’ex cimitero
Napoleonico si sono esibiti: Antonella Ruggero, Rossana Casale, il duo Tuck and
Patti ed il chitarrista Preston Reed, il chitarrista Kiko Loureiro e il quartetto della
cantante Eva Cortés...
CALICI DI STELLE - AGOSTO
L’evento si svolge in contemporanea in molte piazze dei comuni aderenti all’Associazione Nazionale Città del Vino con la collaborazione del Movimento Turismo
del Vino. Un’occasione per assaporare nelle vie del centro storico le migliori produzioni di Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro di Modena D.O.P., alternate a aspecialità di gastronomia tipica, direttamente dai produttori o servite da sommelier
professionisti. Le degustazioni saranno arricchite da musica dal vivo, mostre d’arte
e una speciale zona relax nella splendida cornice della Piazza della Dama dove
sarà possibile osservare le stelle guidati da un astronomo.
CORTEO STORICO E DAMA VIVENTE (anni pari) - SETTEMBRE (2° weekend )
Evento storico rievocativo che ricorda i festeggiamenti dei Marchesi Rangone in
onore del Poeta Torquato Tasso rifugiato a Castelvetro. La manifestazione, che si
alterna annualmente alla “Dama Vivente Corteo storico”, viene organizzata nella
suggestiva piazza a scacchiera del centro storico.
FESTA A CASTELLO (anni dispari) - SETTEMBRE (2° weekend )
Consiste in un fastoso banchetto rinascimentale, al quale si potrà accedere solo
indossando abiti in stile. Ad allietare gli ospiti: musici, mangiafuoco, zingari e danze d’epoca. La serata è antcipata al pomeriggio dal corteo storico nelle vie del
centro storico.
SAGRA DELL’UVA E DEL LAMBRUSCO GRASPAROSSA
DI CASTELVETRO DI MODENA - SETTEMBRE (3º e 4º weekend )
Evento che si propone di valorizzare e rinsaldare la vocazione agricola del territorio castelvetrese esaltando la storia e le caratteristiche del suo prodotto principe:
Il Lambrusco Grasparossa. Questo pertanto il tema centrale delle iniziative realizzate nei cortili e nelle piazze del centro storico con rappresentazione delle fasi

della vita contadina dalla vendemmia alla pigiatura dell’uva; degustazioni presso i
produttori vitivinicoli locali ed incontri tecnici guidati. L’atmosfera sarà allietata da
spettacoli, animazioni per bambini, intrattenimenti musicali per concludere con la
tradizionale sfilata dei Carri di Bacco e Concorso Miss Grasparossa.
GRASPAROSSA! QUALITA’ SENZA RISERVE - SETTEMBRE (3° weekend )
Solo piccoli produttori, solo terreni di collina, solo produzioni limitate, in un territorio di qualità basato sullo sviluppo economico produttivo sostenibile. Sono
questi i principi su cui si basa l’evento tecnico dedicato ad appassionati, giornalisti
ed operatori del settore turistico enogastronomico, alla scoperta del Lambrusco
Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOP, della sua zona d’origine e delle sue innumerevoli
possibilità di abbinamento a tavola.
POESIA FESTIVAL - SETTEMBRE (3° weekend )
La rassegna di poesia e di spettacolo vede la presenza di attori, scrittori, cantanti e
personaggi noti e di spettacolo che trattano, recitano e parlano di poesia. Si svolge in contemporanea a Castelvetro ed in altri 9 comuni (Unione Terre di Castelli)

E’ NATALE A CASTELVETRO - DICEMBRE
Dall’8 dicembre ai weekend che precedono il Natale fino all’Epifania, il centro
storico di Castelvetro sarà animato da una suggestiva atmosfera natalizia che richiama alla tradizione, con l’ambientazione del Presepe e artigiani degli antichi
mestieri. Non mancheranno intrattenimenti e spettacoli oltre a degustazioni di
prodotti tipici tradizionali e mercatino natalizio.

cultura, alla natura, all’identità del nostro Paese con itinerari del Gusto presso le
aziende agrituristiche del territorio;
Aprile - ANDAR PER COLLINA: Itinerario guidato tra colline e vigneti alla scoperta
di storia e cultura del territorio.
Maggio - VINI & CANTINE: Visite e degustazioni presso le aziende vitivinicole di
produzione Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOP ed altri prodotti vitivinicoli;
Settembre - E’ TEMPO DI VENDEMMIA! Nel rispetto assoluto delle fasi di lavorazione che caratterizzano il periodo, è l’occasione per assistere (partecipare) alle fasi
tipiche del ciclo di produzione.
Ottobre - GIORNATA NAZIONALE BANDIERE ARANCIONI: Iniziative turistico/
culturali promosse dal TOURING CLUB ITALIANO per i PAESI BANDIERA ARANCIONE. Visite guidate, tour tematici, degustazioni e iniziative dedicate agli appassionati di storia, cultura ed enogastronomia;
Novembre - GIORNATA EUROPEA DELL’ENOTURISMO Itinerario del gusto fra
vino, prodotti tipici e cultura. Presso il borgo antico, rievocazione storica in costume della festa di San Martino.

GRASPALONGA GOURMET. Castelvetro in BIKE! Among the hills, good wine and food - MAY
A sporty, cultural, natural, gastronomic weekend through the “Grasparossa paths”. The program
provides an easy bike tour requiring no special expertise, suitable for adults and children. Along
the way, some stops at farms and farm holidays to enjoy wine and other local products. In addition, guided tours to the historical centre of Castelvetro and surrounding castles and technical
tastings of Lambrusco wine and Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.
MERCURDO Biennial Festival of the Absurd - JUNE (ODD YEARS)
Mercurdo is the only biennial of art in the world dealing with the theme of the
Absurd. The event takes place in the historic centre of Castelvetro, visitors can assist at shows,
performances of artists and actors, exhibitions of photographers, grafic designers and illustrators
dedicated to the concept of Absurd, a natural connection between differents artistic expressions.
In the streets of downtown, it is possible to buy strange and unusual items from the exhibitors,
carefully selected by the Mercurdo Association.
JAZZ FESTIVAL International Festival of Jazz music - July
Jazz Festival takes place in a former Napoleonic cemetery, today “Campo San Rocco”, a picturesque setting where bands, ranging from jazz to manouche and classic music, find a perfect choreography. In the previous editions of this successful event many important Italian and international
artists have performed: 2006 Antonella Ruggero, 2007 Rossana Casale, 2008 Tuck and Patty duet
and the guitarist Preston Reed, 2009 Kiko Loureiro and Eva Cortés quartet...
QUALITY WINE TASTINGS…UNDER A SKY FULL OF STARS - August 10
The event conceived by the Wine Tourism Movement sings the praise of Bacchus on one of the
most evocative nights of the year and offers tourists the possibility to delight in “the raining of
San Lorenzo’s tears” in the company of quality wine. On August 10th, the event takes place at the
same time in many piazzas of Italy which are members of the National Association of Wine Cities.
Through the streets of the historic centre of Castelvetro, passionate wine tourists can taste the best
productions of Lambrusco Grasparossa of Castelvetro, coupled with local products, directly from
the wineries or lead masterfully by experienced sommeliers. The tastings are enriched by live music, art exhibitions, theatrical performances and a special relax area in the beautiful Dama square
where people have the chance to observe the stars with astronomers.
LIVING DRAUGHTS - 2nd Saturday and Sunday of September (pair years)
The “Dama Vivente” (living draughts) is an amazing draughts game played in the square with children and girls in old-fashioned dresses. During the biennial event, audience can admire the historical parade, shows with soldiers, archers, acrobats, funambulists, waders and musicians, that go
through the streets of the village.
AN HISTORICAL RECONSTRUCTION OF A RENAISSANCE BANQUET
2nd Saturday of September (odd years)
“Festa a Castello”, which alternates every year with Dama Vivente, is organized in the charming
checkerboard square of Castelvetro. This historical commemoration remembers the celebrations
dedicated to the poet Torquato Tasso staying in Castelvetro during 1564 at the court of Rangone
marques lord of these lands and consists in a rich Renaissance banquet, which can be accessed
only by wearing clothes in Renaissance style. Musicians, fire-eaters, gypsies and dances from the
past entertain guests during the feast. In the afternoon, the historical parade promenades across
the streets of the village.

GRAPE AND LAMBRUSCO GRASPAROSSA DI CASTELVETRO WINE FESTIVAL
3rd and 4th weekend of September
This manifestation usually takes place during the last two weekends of September. It is born to
celebrate the most important local product: Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOP. In the
historic centre of Castelvetro, the wineries of Castelvetro proudly showcase their vintage and it is
possible to taste and buy their wines. This will also be a unique chance to extend one’s knowledge
of culture, traditions and rare, precious and delicious gastronomic products, which will be available in the heart of Castelvetro’s historic centre on the stands of exclusive artisans of taste.
GRASPAROSSA! UNCOMPROMISING QUALITY - 3rd weekend of September
Only small producers, only land of the hill, only limited production, in a territory of quality production based on sustainable economic development. These are the principles upon which the
technical event dedicated to fans, journalists and food and wine tourism industry, the discovery of
Lambrusco Grasparossa Castelvetro DOP, its area of origin and of its many possible combinations
at the food.
POETRY FESTIVAL - Last weekend of September
At this important festival every year actors, writers, singers and celebrities participate to act and
speak about poetry. This event, reaching its 8th edition in 2012, has the ambitious aim to promote
poetry and culture by stimulating reflection through words. Young people from primary and
secondary schools of nine different Municipalities are directly involved in the festival taking part in
poetry workshops. At the end of those activities the best young poet will be rewarded.
IT’S CHRISTMAS TIME IN CASTELVETRO - December
Every year in Castelvetro it is possible to breathe the suggestive Christmas atmosphere visiting the
huts hosting artisans of traditional crafts and the Christian Nativity. All around a very impressive
choreography charms children and adults and the streets of the village are brightened by the spectacular Christmas lights. Visitors will be enchanted by observing the craftsmen, the blacksmith, the
shoemaker, the cooper, the vintner and many more, in action. The manifestation offers the
possibility to delight local products and to buy handmade items.

OF EMILIA ROMAGNA.
March - SPRING FESTIVAL: initiative dedicated to the artistic heritage, culture, nature and identity
of our country with “ Tours of Taste” at the farms of the area;
April - GO ON THE HILL: guided tour through hills and vineyards to discover the history and culture
of the area. At the end of the walk “Agricultural drink” tasting and stop at a ‘farm production of
wine and local product;
May - WINERY OPEN: tours and tastings at wineries producing Lambrusco Grasparossa Castelvetro DOP and other wine products;
September - GRAPE HARVEST WELCOME!: in the absolute respect of the processing steps that
characterize the period, is the opportunity to attend to the typical stages of the production cycle
with visits to wineries and tasting.
October - NATIONAL FLAG DAY ORANGE: tourism and cultural initiatives promoted by the ITALIAN TOURING CLUB. Guided tours, theme tours, tastings and events dedicated to fans of history,
culture and gastronomy.
November - “ENOTURISMO“ EUROPEAN DAY: tours of taste between wine, local products and
culture. At the old village, historical re-enactment of the feast of St. Martin.
