La liturgia odierna porta un’annuncio di
salvezza e di liberazione. Come assemblea
liturgica siamo radunati per ascoltare la parola di
Dio e quindi viverla. Allora, il testo sacro viene
proclamato, segue la spiegazione e la
comprensione. Da questo momento di fede
sbocciano tre atteggiamenti: le lacrime di
conversione, l’invito ad aprire le labbra alla lode
 divina e l’esortazione all’attiva carità.
Grazie di cuore a tutti coloro che hanno
participato alla celebrazione della Giornata Mondiale
del Migrante e del Rifugiato; grazie mille per la vostra
generosa offerta per la missione Scalabriniana.
Giornata di Preghiera per l’Unità di tutti i
Cristiani: Continuamo a pregare perché quanti
siamo stati consacrati per mezzo di un solo
battesimo possiamo formare un solo ovile sotto un
solo pastore.
La presentazione dei Bambini/e della Prima
Comunione e Prima Confessione avrà luogo
domenica prossima, 31 Gennaio, alla Messa delle
11:30 am.
Festa della Presentazione e Conclusione della
Giornata Mondiale della Vita Consacrata sarà
celebrata nella nostra parrocchia il martedì 2 febbraio
alle 7 pm. L’Arcivescovo presiederà la Sta Eucaristia
e conteremo con la presenza di numerosi religiosi
che lavorano nella Arcidiocesi. Siete tutti invitati!
Mercoledì delle Ceneri: É il 10 febbraio e marca
l’inizio della Quaresima, una giornata di conversione
verso una vita nuova offerta da Gesù. Ci saranno 3
Messe: 8 am, in Italiano; 9 am, per i bambini della
Scuola e 6:30 pm, trilingue.
Giornata Mondiale dell’Ammalato sarà celebrata
qui ad OLS con una Messa speciale presieduta
dall’Arcivescovo Miller il Giovedí 11 Febbraio alle
11:00 am. Durante la messa il Sacramento
dell’Unzione degli infermi verrà amministrato a coloro
che soffrono di malattie serie o di età anziana.
Chiediamo a persone generose di contribuire con
dolci e biscotti. Grazie!

Today’s liturgy carries an announcement of
salvation and liberation. As God’s people we
assemble to listen to God’s Word and put it into
practice. So the holy passage is proclaimed,
followed by an explanation and understanding.
From that act of faith three main attitudes arise:
tears of conversion, an invitation to open ones lips
to divine worship and active charity.
Our sincere thanks to all those who attended
Migrant’s Day Mass, as well as to all those who
generously contributed to support the Scalabrinian
Apostolate around the world.
Universal Week of Prayer for Christian Unity: Let
us continue to pray that all may be one, as Christ
desires.
Parish Vocation Committee invites you to attend
an hour of Eucharistic Adoration & pray for vocations
on Tuesday, Jan 26 from 7:15 to 8:15 pm. All are
welcome!
 Enrollment Mass for 1st Communion & 1st
Confession Children will be on Sunday, Jan 31st
at 11:30 Mass.

Feast of the Presentation & Conclusion of the
Year of Consacrated Life will be on Tuesday
February 2nd at 7:00 at OLS Parish. Mass will be
presided by Archb Miller with the attendance of
many religious.
Ordinandi Dinner: On Thursday, Feb 4th at St.
Helen's Church —3871 Pandora St, Burnaby, BC-,
starting at 6:30 pm, the Archdiocese celebrates the
ordination of four men to the priesthood! Each one of
them will share his vocation story. Dinner at 6:30
pm; cost $40. All are welcome.
Ash Wednesday: It falls on Feb 10th and marks the
beginning of Lent, a journey of conversion toward
newness of life in Jesus Christ. There will be 3
Masses: 8 am, Italian; 9 am, School Mass; 6:30 pm,
Trilingual.
The World Day of the Sick will be celebrated at
OLS on Thursday, February 11 with a special Mass
presided by Archb Miller at 11:00am. The sacrament
of anointing of the sick will be administered to
anyone who because of serious sickness or old age
desires to receive it. Your cooperation in bringing
some goodies or sweets is much appreciated.
On the weekend of February 12 - 14, there will be
a Vocation Live-In for boys or young men interested
in the priesthood or the consecrated life, at the
Seminary of Christ the King, Mission, BC. For more

Lenten Retreat on Mercy: On Sunday, February
27th & 28th, preached by Fr. Patrick Murphy, CS —
Director of Casa del Migrante, Tijuana, Mexico to
help us get closer to God’s merciful heart.
Guía nuestras acciones según tu voluntad, Señor,
porque en el nombre de Jesús damos frutos generosos de
obras buenas.

En preparación para Cuaresma, te invitamos a

Presentació del Señor y Conclusión del Año de la Vida
Consagrada será el martes 2 de feb a las 7:00 pm en
esta parroquia. Presidirá el arzobispo y asistirán muchos
religiosos de la arquidiócesis!
Miércoles de Ceniza: Es el 10 de feb y señala el inicio
de la cuaresma, un camino de conversión hacia la plenitud
de vida en el Señor.
Día Mundial del Enfermo: Será a las 11 am, el jueves
11 de feb y presidirá el arzobispo. El sacramento será
administrado a quien tenga una enfermedad seria o por
edad avanzada y que desee recibirlo.
Retiro de Cuaresma sobre la Misericordia: El domingo
27 de feb, P. Patrick Murphy, Director de la Casa del
Migrante, predicará y nos ayudará a entrar en el corazón
misericordioso del Padre.
