Ente Moda Italia will be in Seoul, South Korea from 30 June to 2 July,
supporting the launch of KR-AFT SHOW, the new international fair
showcasing fashions for men, women and children.
44 Italian brands will be participating:
great opportunities for Italian firms on a market with double-digit growth
Ente Moda Italia will be on the front lines for the first edition of KR-AFT Korea Art Fashion
Trade Show, organized by People of Tastes at the aT Center Seoul, from 30 June to 2
July 2014. EMI is staging “La Moda Italiana”, a special area featuring new clothing,
footwear and accessory collections for men, women, and children presented by 44 Italian
brands, 5 of which are also supported by AIMPES. A selection of French, Spanish,
Lithuanian, and of course, South Korean firms will also be participating in the KR-AFT Show.
“We are very proud of this new trade fair in South Korea”, says Antonio Gavazzeni, president
of Ente Moda Italia. “It’s a new adventure, and we were actually among the drivers behind it.
Our feature “La Moda Italiana a Seoul” was presented in hotels the past four times, and now
it’s an international trade show at a fair facility. This means that it will be a real promotional
and marketing platform, developed by our local partner, People of Tastes, with decisive
stimulus over the past two years from the Italian firms led by EMI. It is a clear sign that the
South Korean market, which has been enjoying some of the strongest growth on the
international stage, has reached the level of maturity that can support the launch of a new
trade fair that will also be able to draw buyers from neighboring countries”.
“We are confident that the new fair will give an even greater boost to our companies’ sales on
the South Korean market”, adds Alberto Scaccioni, CEO of Ente Moda Italia”. “In 2013, Italian
exports to South Korea rose by 20% (Sistema Moda Italia), and the figures for the early
months of 2014 confirm this trend of double-digit growth. The South Korean market is one of
the most promising for Italian Style with its distribution system that is strongly oriented towards
Western models, with boutiques, multi-brand and department stores that want to diversify and
satisfy an increasingly quality- and trend-conscious clientele. And, with the implementation of
the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and South Korea, we are moving
forward with the elimination of customs tariffs on a large number of products. In other words,
everything is in place to give trade relations between these two markets an even stronger
impetus”.
