CME Credits
The scientific programme of the 55 th Annual Meeting of the Italian Cancer Society has been submitted
for the accreditation by the Italian Ministry of Health. Credits have been requested for the following

Abstract submission
The organizers invite authors to submit abstracts for consideration and inclusion in the programme.
Abstracts must be sent by June 7 2013 and must focus on the following topics:

Abstracts must be written in English and must not exceed 2.500 characters (including blanks).
All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by a Scientific Committee and selected for oral or poster
presentations (sizes: cm 70x100h.).
PRIZES
“Piero Trivella” and “EACR” Prizes to the best posters
The Associazione Oncologica Pisana “Prof. Piero Trivella” and the European Association for Cancer
Research (EACR) will award the best posters.
To apply for poster prizes it is necessary to:
• Be SIC Member
• Be first author of the submitted abstract (copy of the abstract must be attached)
• Be younger than 35 years at the date of the Meeting (copy of the identity card must be attached)
• Be regularly registered in the Meeting
Those who wish to apply for the prize must present their poster at the Meeting even in case their
abstract has been selected as oral presentation. Should the winner not be present at the Award
Ceremony, the prize will be awarded following the ranking order.
The application must be sent by June 14, 2013.
Travel Grants
A limited number of Travel Grants can be awarded upon financial availability.
To apply for Travel Grants it is necessary to:
• Be SIC Member
• Be first author of the submitted abstract (copy of the abstract must be attached)
• Be younger than 35 years at the date of the Meeting (copy of the identity card must be attached)
• Be regularly registered in the Meeting
• Attach the Curriculum Vitae including a list of all publications
The application must be sent by June 14, 2013.
“Elena Cappannini” Prize to the best 2012 publication as first author in innovative
approaches for cancer treatments
To apply for this prize in memory of Elena Cappannini it is necessary to:
• Be first author of the publication in the field of preclinical or clinical innovative approaches for
cancer treatment published in 2012 (copy of the paper and CV must be attached)
• Be younger than 40 years at the date of the Meeting (copy of the identity card must be attached)
The application must be sent by June 14, 2013.

All prizes will be awarded, on the basis of a merit ranking, on September 25, during the
Award Ceremony.
Abstracts must be sent using the online form. Abstracts sent in any other way will not be accepted.
Notification of acceptance or rejection, together with information about session, date, time and type
of presentation, will follow.
Each Author can present only one abstract. Abstracts will be included in the Programme and in
the Abstract book only if the Presenting Author will be regularly registered in the Congress.
