IVG Fittings Division. A new unit
in the group for complex solutions.
IVG Group started the year 2010 looking ahead through constant research for new solutions and the efficient exchange of
experiences of multiple realities. Different activities allow the
entire group to offer, at the same time, complementary products
and personalized solutions. This our personal approach to the
market making the best of all possible synergies with the aim
of getting to the heart of the problem of every customer with
service, reliability and integrated and efficient skills.
A new unit arises within IVG Colbachini: the Fittings Division.
It is a new technical organisation who takes force and capacity
from a strong industrial know-how and a long practical experience.
IVG Fittings Division is a flexible and versatile unit that can
offer complex and integrated services through a team of highly
qualified engineers who work in synergy with the research and
development department of IVG.
Its true force is to study, alternative and innovative solutions,
to design complex systems which can satisfy the customer’s
needs. The supply of fitted hoses reinforces the possibility to
propose a ready to use product that has a controlled quality,
which is traceable and tested before entering into service.
Moreover, it proposes a more suitable product to be applied to
the most efficient systems.
IVG Fittings Division workshop includes:
• machines designed to produce hoses
and couplings,
• swaging machines from ½” (19 mm)
to 20” (505 mm),
• machines for laser branding on metal,
• machines for micro-points branding on metal,
• machines to cut hoses,
• machines for packaging.
But the real news is that, starting from January 2010, something unique enriched the IVG Fittings Division equipments
fleet: a swaging machine suitable to swage flanged coupling
with internal diameter until 20” (505 mm). IVG are the only company in Europe, and among the few in the world, to be able to
offer this kind of application.
IVG Fittings Division has a wide range of couplings which can
also be supplied with all the necessary accessories (band-it,
collars, clamps, etc.) to be fitted by the customer.
The new department is technically equipped with a testing area,
to inspect and test flexible hose assemblies. All the measurement instrumentation is followed by a quality assurance program that guarantees the accuracy of the measurements.
Once again IVG is able to demonstrate its strong commitment to
continuous planning for the future of the Group.

IVG Group ha inziato il 2010 guardando al futuro, attraverso lo
scambio concreto di esperienze tra le sue molteplici realtà e la
costante ricerca di soluzioni.
Diverse competenze permettono all’intero gruppo di offrire prodotti complementari e soluzioni personalizzate. Questo è il nostro personale approccio al mercato, ottenere il massimo dalle

Una nuova unità nasce nel cuore di IVG Colbachini: la Fittings
Division.
Si tratta di una nuova organizzazione tecnica che tra forza e
capacità da un grande knw-how industriale a da una lunga esperienza pratica.
IVG Fittings Division è una reparto versatile e flessibile in
grado di offrire servizi integrati e complessi attraverso un team
tecnico molto qualificato che lavora in stretta collaborazione con
l’ R&D di IVG.
La sua vera forza consiste nello studio di soluzioni alternative ed
innovative e nella progettazione di sistemi complessi in grado di
soddisfare la clientela.
La fornitura di tubi raccordati ha rafforzato la possibilità di proporre un prodotto pronto per l’uso, con una qualità controllata e
rintracciabile, testato prima di entrare in servizio.
Il prodotto così proposto é adatto ad essere applicato immediatamente nei più efficienti sistemi di trasporto fluidi.
Il parco macchine di IVG Fittings Division comprende:

La vera novità è proprio che a partire da gennaio 2010 qualcosa
di unico ha arricchito le attrezzature di IVG Fittings Division:
una macchina pressatrice idonea a fissare raccordi flangiati con
dimetro interno fino a 505 mm (20”.) Siamo gli unici in Europa,
e tra i pochissimi al mondo in grado di offrire questo tipo di
applicazione.
IVG Fittings Division dispone inoltre di un vasto magazzino di
raccorderia sciolta, completa di tutti gli accessori necessari (fascette, collari, clampe, ecc.). La nuova unità dispone di un’area
collaudo tecnicamente equipaggiata per ispezionare e testare
gli assemblati realizzati. Tutti gli strumenti di misurazione sono
verificati sulla base di un programma di assicurazione qualità
per garantire controlli in linea con gli standard internazionali.

An Italian-French joint venture has taken on the Wolf Creek
Dam repairs in Kentucky. A strong wall of about 4,000 feet will
burrow down more than 275 feet to solid bedrock. Not only
will it help stop the waters of Lake Cumberland from seeping
through, but it will also help avoid potentially catastrophic
failures and the flooding of many communities. A true relief, for
all the people living downstream from the dam that was built
in 1950. As a quality producer of material handling hose, IVG
designs hoses for a wide range of earth moving applications,
especially for hydromills machines in the ground preparation
works for major foundation projects (skyscrapers, underground
parking, dams.). For this specific task IVG recommend ABR
Volga/ond/sot, size 6”, corrugated cover and 10 bar working
pressure and an elongation strength of 8 metric tons with
really low deformation. It was designed to withstand extreme
abrasions caused by rocks of all types and form.
IVG’s modern production technology, combined with a coupling
system internally designed, allows production of continuous
lengths of up to 120-m long.

risanamento della diga di Wolf Creek, nel Kentucky.
Una solida parete lunga circa 4.000 piedi, che affonda per più
di 275 piedi nella roccia compatta, avrà lo scopo di bloccare le
infiltrazioni delle acque del lago Cumberland. Servirà ad evitare
potenziali rotture catastrofiche, che potrebbero provocare
l’inondazione di numerose comunità. Un vero sollievo dalla
paura per chi vive a valle di questa diga, funzionante ormai
dal 1950. IVG è produttore di material handling hoses di gran
qualità, e progetta tubi per diverse applicazioni di movimento
terra. Particolarmente tubi per idrofrese, usate nei lavori di
preparazione del terreno per la realizzazione di fondamenta
impegnative (grattacieli, parcheggi sotterranei, dighe).
Per questo progetto il tubo è ABR Volga/ond/sot con diametro
6”, copertura ondulata e pressione di esercizio di 10 bar.
E’ stato studiato per resistere all’estrema abrasione causata dai
frammenti di roccia di ogni tipo e forma, e per sopportare una
trazione di 8 tonnellate con una deformazione molto ridotta.
La moderna tecnologia di produzione IVG, combinata con un
sistema di raccordatura speciale, progettato internamente,
permette la produzione di tratte continue lunghe fino a 120 m.

An IVG solution for every dark situation.
One of the aims of the Research and Development departments, in any industrial sector, of the last few years, has been to improve the SAFETY of the
products and their use. The Rubber hose industry research achieved important results in this field. One of the sectors where such study concentrated
its activity has been to improve the visibility of the assemblies in environments with poor lighting. IVG R&D department designed a high visibility
fluorescent rubber compound named “GLOW” that gives a fully luminescent glow after exposure to a light source. The first application has been
for the Fire Fighting services in the production of first aid reel booster hoses to be installed on fire trucks “FIRE CHICAGO GLOW EN 1947”. Such a
product has had very positive results in particular from the Fire Brigade in the United Kingdom. Applications can be found in many industrial activities.
Recently IVG utilized it in the OFF SHORE sector as an alternative to the normal coloured compounds used on the hose cover, to easily identify the
lines that convey fluids from vessels to off shore rigs in darkness or poor visibility. Other applications where it is possible to use such compounds are
the Mining Industry and the Construction sector. IVG Research and Development department inform us that it is possible to charge such a compound
in order to grant a visibility that lasts’ several hours after the exposure of the product to a light source

Nel corso degli ultimi anni uno dei principali obbiettivi della ricerca, in qualunque settore industriale, è stato quello di aumentare la sicurezza degli
articoli prodotti e del loro utilizzo. Nel settore della produzione di tubi industriali in gomma, tale ricerca ha portato importanti risultati. Uno dei settori
in cui si è concentrata la ricerca è stato quello della facile identificazione delle manichette in gomma in ambienti con scarsa visibilità. A tale proposito
IVG R&D ha messo a punto una mescola fluorescente ad alta visibilità denominata “glow solution” che la rende completamente luminescente al buio
dopo l’esposizione a sorgenti luminose. La prima applicazione è stata nel settore dell’Antincendio per la produzione di tubi per arrotolatori montati su
autopompe “FIRE CHICAGO GLOW EN 1947”: Tale prodotto ha riscosso notevole successo specialmente presso le Brigate dei Pompieri del Regno Unito.
Ma i possibili impieghi sono però da ricercarsi in diverse attività industriali. Recentemente tale mescola è stata testata nel settore OFF SHORE come
alternativa alle normali coperture in gomma colorata utilizzata per rendere più facilmente identificabili i tubi per il passaggio di prodotti petroliferi tra nave
e piattaforma petrolifera in condizioni di scarsa visibilità. Altri settori in cui si sta valutando la possibilità di utilizzare tale mescola sono quello Minerario
e quello delle costruzioni edili, ma e fortemente raccomandato per tutte quelle applicazioni a rischio dove la manichetta debba essere facilmente e
rapidamente identificata. In fine è possibile caricare tale mescola al fine di garantire un rilascio prolungato dell’effetto fluorescente in grado di assicurare
una visibilità del prodotto anche a distanza di diverse ore dall’esposizione alla sorgente di luce.

properties.
Thunderflex hose is made with ultra high molecular weight polyetilene tube, and it dissipates the electrostatic charges without the need
of copper wires in the structure to be welded to the couplings. It has a black and white speckled tube and it is suitable to convey a
wide range of chemical, food or petroleum products: a technical solution for high-profile food and pharmaceutical environments which
need a high grade of cleanliness and safety. IVG Thunderflex has high strength synthetic cord and steel helix wire as reinforcement. The
hose can work at 16 bar (240 psi) working pressure and it resists full vacuum. Safety factor is 4:1. Working temperature range is from
-30°C (-22 F°) to +100°C (+212 F°). The cover is a yellow smooth rubber compound with excellent resistance to abrasion, weathering
and ozone, but an alternative version with black and white speckled cover is also available. It fulfils EN 12115 rules, and the tube is in
accordance to FDA, BfR and USDA specifications.

gamma di prodotti chimici, alimentari e petroliferi: una soluzione tecnica ad alto profilo per ambienti alimentari e farmaceutici che
necessitano di un elevato grado di igiene e sicurezza. La proposta IVG ha tessuti di rinforzo ad alta resistenza e spirale metallica
inserita nella struttura. Il tubo lavora ad una pressione di esercizio di 16 bar (240 psi) e resiste all’aspirazione massima. Il fattore di
sicurezza è di 4:1. La gamma di resistenza alla temperatura è da -30°C (-22 F°) a +100°C (+212 F°). La copertura è in gomma
gialla liscia con ottima resistenza all’abrasione, alle intemperie ed all’ozono, ma è disponibile anche una versione con copertura
maculata bianca e nera. Risponde ai requisiti della norma EN 12115, ed inoltre il sottostrato è in accordo con le specifiche FDA,
BfR e USDA.

Admiral Hoses Line is a significant step forward in hose
technology as is evidenced by the data contained on the

It has potential operational problem solving characteristics
not previously seen from the hose industry.
This Admiral Hoses are Loading hoses installed in three
offshore loading buoy systems in the North Sea were
investigated with respect to extreme load resistance and
fatigue durability.
Bassi Offshore produces this high performance hose with
the follow capability:
- Range Diameter from 8” up to 24”,
- Range of Length u pto 40’,
- Working pressure 40 bar (580 psi),
- Working pressure available up to 100 bar,
- 0% elongation at Working pressure,
- Deep water application up to 300 meters,
- Supersede the OCIMF recommendations,
- Tested based on the principal of service in accordance
to API 17K,
The target replacement interval for the hoses is set to
10 years for the installation in question with respect to
fatigue reliability.
Research and development for further extending the
barriers of performance and reliability continues within
our North Italian plant, with other specialised hose
designs, and additional exciting prospects are soon to be
unveiled.

Si tratta di una linea con forti potenziali, e con caratteristiche di problem solving come mai si sono viste
nell’industria dei flessibili. I tubi Admiral sono stati installati in tre loading buoy system nel Mare del Nord
e sono stati accuratamente esaminati rispetto alla loro resistenza ai carichi estremi ed alla loro durata a
fatica. Bassi Offshore produce questi tubi ad altissime prestazioni con le seguenti caratteristiche:
- Range diametric da 8” a 24”,
- Lunghezza fino a 40’,
- Pressione di esercizio 40 bar (580 psi),
- Pressione di esercizio disponibile fino a 100 bar,
- 0% di allungamento alla pressione di esercizio ,
- Idoneo a lavorare immerso in acqua fino a 300 metri,
- Soddisfa ampiamente tutte le raccomandazioni OCIMF,
- Testato in accordo a API 17K,
L’intervallo di tempo per la sostituzione di questi tubi nelle installazioni sopra dette è stato fissato a 10 anni.
Questo in considerazione della sua affidabilità rispetto alla resistenza alla fatica.
La ricerca e lo sviluppo di nuovi prodotti, per un progressivo aumento delle performances e dell’affidabilità
continua nel nostro stabilimento nel Nord Italia, con altri progetti molto particolari: nuove singolari proposte
saranno svelate al più presto.

A business marriage with SPIR STAR.
SAMI Instruments is another manufacturing company part of the IVG Group producing quality high pressure valves, manifolds and
instrumentations.
A recent multi-year agreement with SPIR STAR of Houston has been reached to exclusively distribute SAMI’s high pressure valves (15,000
psi and up) in North America. This business marriage should highly benefit both companies giving SAMI an established American distribution
network, and allowing SPIR STAR to complement its product line of high pressure thermoplastic hoses with SAMI’s stainless steel high
pressure needle valves. Currently SPIR STAR stocks the whole range of SAMI’s high pressure products, including fittings, check valves, ball
valves, needle valves. Products approved for sour gas applications are also available. Being SPIR STAR active exclusively in the high and
ultra high pressure segment of the business, SAMI is currently entertaining talks with several other potential distributors in order to reach
similar agreements to develop the low pressure side of the business (10,000 psi and below). SAMI’s products are most commonly used in
the automotive, petro-chemical and water blasting industry. The manufacturing plant located just outside of Venice in Italy, utilizes state of
the art highly computerized multi-spindle machines which combined with the renown attention to detail that characterizes most items “made
in Italy”, the end results are simply outstanding and consistent products fully approved by several international standards and specifications.

per valvole che vanno a partire dai 15.000 psi per tutto il territorio del Nord America. Da questo connubio
trarranno beneficio entrambe le aziende: SAMI utilizzerà un network di distribuzione già esistente,
SPIR STAR completerà la linea di prodotti che attualmente realizzano e commercializzano, ovvero i tubi
termoplastici ad alta pressione. Già oggi SPIR STAR detiene l’inventario di tutta la gamma che produce
SAMI inclusi raccordi, valvole a sfera e ad ago, check valve, e una linea speciale di prodotti resistente a
H2S. SPIR STAR è concentrata principalmente nel settore dell’alta e dell’altissima pressione, SAMI sta
dunque considerando altri potenziali distributori con lo scopo di raggiungere accordi di distribuzione per
prodotti con resistenza inferiore ai 10.000 psi. I prodotti di SAMI sono generalmente utilizzati nel settore

A season full of events
Spring 2010 is characterized by a rich program of events organized by Muvec (the Venetian
Bells Museum). The Concentus Musicus Patavinus orchestra, conducted by Gabriele Donà,
will open the music program with two concerts. They will perform pieces by Ludwig van
Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Max Bruch.
The extraordinary performances of the quartet Anthos and of the cello piano duo SimonTalbot will close the exceptional spring musical season. Concerts will take place at the Muvec Foundry Music Hall and Zacco-Armeni

Edis meeting 2009
IVG had the pleasure of hosting part of the Edis meeting
on October 1st 2009 in the IVG headquarters of
Cervarese S. Croce and in Villa Fogazzaro Colbachini of
Montegalda, also the Muvec headquarters.
It was a special event for IVG and an occasion to meet
some of the main international players of industrial
distribution and discuss many topics with some of our
major European partners.
The Hannover Fair in recent year has become a must for IVG:
an opportunity to introduce new products and meet our partners.
