USING THE REDUCER
The reducer allows the angler to economise the line loading, removing the need for
backing and making filling faster and less expensive. The Reducer is easily removed
if required to allow full depth line capacity.

LINE LOADING
The Stratos rotates in a clockwise direction. When transferring line from a bulk
spool ensure the line leaves in an anti clockwise direction. This procedure removes
inherent twist.
TOP TIP:
For best results soak the line in a bucket of water. Fit the reel to the butt of a rod,
thread the line through the butt ring & attach securely to the reel. Wind the line
under tension through a soft damp cloth. The line should be filled until level with the
spool lip.

SHIMS
The reel is fitted with removable and interchangeable shims that allows the user to
customise the line profile to their own requirements. By moving shims to the front
it creates front coning or by adding shims behind the spool it banks the line up
towards the back of the spool. Please note the “E” models have less shims than
that stated in the diagram below but the same principle applies.

Fox engineers have utilised a front
clutch which is far superior to a rear
mounted version as the operation
does not run through the gears in the
body of the reel. Reducing the
distance between the bail arm roller
and the rotating part of the spool as
much as possible further improves
reliability and performance.

The drag operates on a stainless steel
ball bearing system. This assembly is
unique and rotates on its own spool
arbor, not on the main shaft.
The design uses a contained multi disc
assembly with self lubricating
components providing fantastic
smoothness and accuracy, while
requiring minimum inertia to activate.
The drag system is adjusted by turning
clockwise to increase (+) tension and
anti-clockwise to decrease (-) tension,
as shown above.

ANTI REVERSE
The Anti-Reverse is located on the underside of
the reel body. Using Anti-Reverse eliminates
any free rotation of the spool which can prevent
tangling. The Anti-Reverse should also be ‘ON’
when the Free Spool System is engaged.

FREE SPOOL SYSTEM
The Free Spool mechanism disengages the main
drag, allowing the reel to give line against a running
fish when it picks up the bait. This provides a reliable,
smooth setting which is adjustable to suit conditions.

RANGE CASTING CLIP
The Stratos features a stainless steel
clip which is spring loaded to suit
different line diameters and features
a moulded plastic cushion beneath
the clip to protect the line. The line
clip allows the user to precisely
control the amount of line leaving the
spool to achieve ultra consistent
distance and accuracy. This facility is
invaluable when casting to far margin
or island features or for hitting open
water marks in conjunction with a line
marker. The design of the clip
ensures the line is buffered and
protected from damage as it hits the
clip, although we recommend
feathering the cast to ensure impact
is always at minimum force.The clip is
also useful for retaining the line
securely when the spool is in storage.

MAINTENANCE
The Stratos features tamper proof screws and is designed not to be taken apart.
No self maintenance should be carried out - if the reel is taken apart the warranty
will be invalidated.
In the unlikely event of any technical problems, please return the reel to our UK
Headquarters where we operate a full repair and maintenance service.
When cleaning your reel do not immerse in water, instead simply wipe clean using
warm water and a damp cloth. Added protection can be achieved with a light spray
of WD40, removing any excess with a clean soft cloth.

USAGE DU REDUCTEUR
Il est possible d'installer notre Réducteur de Capacité sur les deux bobines.
Cela permet au pêcheur d'économiser lors du chargement du fil, en supprimant
le besoin d'un bourrage et en rendant le remplissage plus rapide et moins
onéreux. Le Réducteur s'enlève aisément s'il est nécessaire de disposer de
toute la capacité de fil.

CHARGEMENT DU FIL
Le Stratos tourne dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre. Lorsque vous chargez le
fil avec une bobine du commerce, assurez-vous que le fil s'en dévide dans le sens
inverse des aiguilles d'une montre. Ce procédé élimine le vrillage inhérent à
cette opération.
ASTUCE:
Pour de meilleurs résultats, plongez le fil dans un seau d'eau. Fixez le moulinet sur
le talon de la canne, passez la ligne dans l'anneau de départ puis attachez la
fermement sur le moulinet. Enroulez le fil en le maintenant sous tension à l'aide
d'un chiffon doux et humide. La ligne devrait être chargée jusqu'au niveau de la
lèvre de la bobine.

ENTRETOISES
Le moulinet est équipé d’entretoises amovibles permettant de modifier le type d’étalement
de ligne sur la bobine: En positionnant les entretoises sur le dessus de la bobine on
obtient un cône inversé, alors que le placement de celles-ci sous la bobine permettra un
étalement dégressif de haut en bas. Les modèles E sont fournis avec moins d’entretoises
mais le principe reste identique.

SYSTEME DE FREIN

Les ingénieurs Fox ont utilisé un frein
avant, lequel s'avère nettement
supérieur à un modèle placé à l'arrière
du fait que le serrage ne traverse pas
les composants situés dans le bâti du
moulinet. En réduisant autant que
possible la distance qui sépare le galet
du pick-up de la partie rotative de la
bobine, on améliore d'autant plus la
fiabilité et la performance.

Le frein fonctionne grâce à un système
de roulement à billes en acier inoxydable.
Ce montage unique tourne sur son
propre arbre de bobine, et non sur
l'arbre principal. Le procédé met en
oeuvre un assemblage multi disques
intégré avec des pièces auto lubrifiantes,
lequel procure une douceur et une
précision fantastiques, tout en
nécessitant une inertie minimum pour
être actionné.
Le système de frein se règle en tournant
dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre
pour augmenter (+) et dans le sens inverse
des aiguilles d'une montre pour diminuer
(-) la tension, comme montré ci-dessus.

L'Anti-Retour se situe en dessous du bâti du
moulinet. L'usage de l'Anti-Retour peut empêcher
des emmêlements en éliminant toute rotation libre

SYSTEME DE DEBRAYAGE
DE LA BOBINE
Le mécanisme de Bobine Débrayable libère le frein principal,
permettant au moulinet de lâcher du fil contre un poisson
nageant très rapidement lorsqu'il s'est saisi de l'appât. Cela
donne un réglage fiable et fluide qui peut être ajusté pour
s'adapter aux conditions.

CLIP LIGNE POUR
DISTANCE DE LANCER
Le Stratos est muni d'un clip en acier à
ressorts inoxydable pour s'adapter aux
différents diamètres de fils. Une protection
en plastique moulé est placée sous ce clip
afin de protéger la ligne. Le clip ligne
permet au pêcheur de contrôler
exactement la quantité de fil qui sort de la
bobine afin d'atteindre régulièrement une
distance précise. Cet accessoire se révèle
extrêmement précieux lorsqu'il s'agit de
pêcher des bordures éloignées ou des îles,
ou bien encore pour atteindre des spots
en pleine haut. La conception de ce clip
garantit le maintien de la ligne ainsi que sa
protection au moment où elle en ressort,
bien que nous recommandions de ne pas
forcer le lancer afin de s'assurer que
l'intensité du choc soit toujours la plus
faible possible. Le clip est également très
utile pour maintenir le fil de manière fiable
lorsque la bobine est rangée.

ENTRETIEN
Le Stratos est pourvu de vis inviolables et est conçu pour ne pas être démonté.
Aucune réparation personnelle ne devra être effectuée - si le moulinet est
démonté, la garantie sera annulée.
Dans le cas peu probable de problèmes techniques quels qu'ils soient, merci de
retourner le moulinet à notre siège anglais où nous opérons un service complet de
réparation et d'entretien.
Lorsque vous nettoyez votre moulinet, ne le plongez pas dans l'eau mais essuyez le
simplement avec de l'eau chaude et un chiffon humide. Une protection
supplémentaire peut être apportée avec une légère pulvérisation de WD40, en
enlevant tout surplus à l'aide d'un chiffon propre et doux.

VERWENDUNG DES REDUCERS
Beide Spulen sind mit unserem einzigartigen Spool Reducer ausgestattet.
Damit kann der Angler beim Befüllen der Rolle mit seiner Schnur sparsam
umgehen, er benötigt keine Unterschnur und kann die Spule schneller und
billiger füllen. Wird die volle Schnurfassung benötigt, kann der Reducer einfach
abgenommen werden.

NEUE SCHNUR AUFROLLEN
Die Stratos dreht sich im Uhrzeigersinn. Wenn Schnur von einer Großspule
aufgespult wird, ist es wichtig, dass die Schnur gegen den Uhrzeigersinn von der
Großspule herunterläuft. Dadurch wird Schnurdrall vermieden.
Top Tipp:
Am besten geht es, wenn die Schnur in einem Wassereimer befeuchtet wird.
Montieren Sie die Rolle an einem Rutenhandteil, ziehen Sie die Schnur durch den
Führungsring und knoten Sie sie an den Spulenkern. Nun die Schnur unter
Spannung durch ein weiches befeuchtetes Stück Stoff ziehen. Die Schnur sollte bis
unter den Spulenrand reichen.

ROLLENSCHEIBEN
Die Rolle ist mit abnehmbaren Wechselscheiben ausgestattet. Damit kann das
Schnurverlegungsprofil für die jeweiligen Bedürfnisse verändert werden. Durch ein
Verschieben der Scheiben nach vorn läuft die Schnurwicklung nach vorn konisch zu.
Wenn die Scheiben hinter der Spule montiert werden, ergibt dies eine Wölbung der
Schnurwicklung nach hinten. Bitte beachten Sie, dass die E-Modelle weniger
Scheiben haben als in der Zeichnung aufgeführt, das Prinzip ist aber dasselbe.

BREMSE
Die Bremse arbeitet mit einem
Edelstahlkugellager-System. Diese
Zusammensetzung ist einmalig und
läuft über eine eigene Welle, nicht auf
der Rollenachse. Eine ganze Reihe
Bremsscheiben sowie sich selbst
schmierende bewegliche Teile ergeben
einen fantastischen Lauf und hohe
Genauigkeit, gleichzeitig ist die
Bedienung ein Kinderspiel.

Die Entwickler bei Fox haben sich für
eine Frontbremse entschieden, diese
ist einer Heckbremse weit überlegen,
weil die Wirkung nicht durch das
Getriebe im Inneren der Rolle verläuft.
Die Entfernung zwischen
Schnurlaufröllchen und dem sich
drehenden Teil der Rolle wurde
ebenfalls möglichst weit reduziert, was
die Zuverlässigkeit und Arbeitsweise
der Rolle weiter verbessert.
Die Bremswirkung wird durch Drehen im
Uhrzeigersinn stärker, gegen den
Uhrzeigersinn wird sie schwächer,
wie oben zu sehen.

RÜCKLAUFSPERRE
Die Rücklaufsperre ist an der Unterseite des
Rollenkörpers angebracht. Die eingeschaltete
Rücklaufsperre verhindert ein unkontrolliertes
Zurückdrehen der Rolle, dadurch werden
Verwicklungen vermieden. Die Rücklaufsperre
sollte auch auf „ON“ stehen, wenn mit dem
Freilauf gearbeitet wird.

FREE SPOOL SYSTEM
Der Freilaufmechanismus setzt die Bremse außer
Betrieb und gibt bei einem Run ungehindert Schnur
frei. Er kann zuverlässig und einfach eingestellt
werden, mit vielen Abstufungen, um sich der
jeweiligen Situation anpassen zu können.

RANGE CASTING CLIP
Die Stratos hat einen Schnurclip aus
Edelstahl, der mit einer Feder unter
Spannung steht, damit können
verschiedene Schnurdurchmesser
verwendet werden. Ein Plastikeinsatz unter
dem Clip schützt die Schnur vor
Beschädigungen. Der Schnurclip ermöglicht
dem Angler die genaue Kontrolle der beim
Wurf freigegebenen Schnurmenge, um
immer wieder genau die gleiche Stelle zu
erreichen. Unverzichtbar, wenn am anderen
Ufer oder an einer Insel gefischt werden
soll, oder Stellen im Freiwasser mit Hilfe
einer Schnurmarkierung wiedergefunden
werden sollen. Die Form des Clips sichert
ein Abfedern der Schnur , dadurch werden
Beschädigungen verhindert, trotzdem
empfehlen wir ein Abfedern des Wurfes
kurz vor Auftreffen der Montage, um die
Kraft, die dann auf die Schnur im Clip wirkt,
weiter zu minimieren. Der Clip kommt auch
zum Einsatz, um die Schnur bei der
Lagerung der Ersatzspule zu befestigten.

REPARATUR
Die Stratos hat spezielle Schrauben und ist nicht dafür gebaut, vom Angler geöffnet
zu werden. Man sollte also nicht selbst versuchen, etwas zu reparieren - Wenn die
Rolel geöffnet wurde, verfällt die Garantie.
Im unwahrscheinlichen Fall von technischen Problemen muss die Rolle zu uns nach
England geschickt werden, dort gibt es eine umfangreichen Service für Ihre Rolle.
Wenn Sie Ihre Rolle reinigen, bitte nicht ins Wasser halten, stattdessen einfach mit
einem feuchten Tuch mit warmem Wasser abwischen. Zusätzlicher Schutz kann
durch ein leichtes Einsprayen mit WD40 erreicht werden, die Reste davon dann
bitte auch mit einem weichen Stoff abwischen.

GEBRUIK VAN DE REDUCER
Beide spoelen zijn voorzien van onze unieke Spool Reducer. Hierdoor hoeft de
spoel niet helemaal opgespoeld te worden met lijn wat onnodige kosten
voorkomt. De Reducer is gemakkelijk te verwijderen zodat de spoel wel volledig
opgespoeld kan worden inzien noodzakelijk.

LIJN OPSPOELEN
De Stratos draait met de klok mee. Al de lijn opgespoeld wordt van de bulkspoel
dan deze de bulkspoel te verlaten tegen de klok in. Hierdoor wordt overtollig kinken
van de lijn voorkomen.
SUPERTIP:
Voor het beste resultaat dient de lijn nat gemaakt worden alvorens deze
opgespoeld wordt. Bevestig de molen stevig op de hengel en haal de lijn door het
startoog en bevestig de lijn aan de molenspoel. Wind de lijn onder kleine weerstand
op door deze door een zachte vochtige doek te halen.

RINGEN
De molen is uitgerust met verwijderbare en uitwisselbare ringen die de gebruiker in
staat stelt zelf de lijnligging op de spoel te bepalen: een meer voorwaartse of juist
achterwaartse conische vorm. Door ringen naar de voorzijde te verplaatsen komt
meer lijn richting de spoelrand te liggen, door juist ringen naar de achterzijde van de
spoel te verplaatsen komt meer lijn aan de achterzijde van de spoel te liggen. Let op
dat de “E” modellen minder ringen hebben dan in de figuur hieronder is afgebeeld,
maar het principe is identiek.

SLIPSYSTEEM
De slip is gebaseerd op roestvrijstalen
kogellagers. Deze manier van
monteren is absoluut uniek. Dit
ontwerp gebruikt een ingebouwde
meervoudig slipschijvensysteem met
zelfsmerende componenten. Hierdoor
ontstaat een soepel en nauwkeurig
systeem met een minimum aan wrijving en speling.
Het slipsysteem wordt bijgesteld door deze
met de klok mee te draaien om de
weerstand te verhogen (+) en tegen de
klok in te draaien om de weerstand te

RANGE CASTING CLIP
De Stratos heeft een roestvrijstalen
lijnclip voorzien van een veersysteem
zodat diverse lijndiameters zonder
kans op beschadiging gebruikt kunnen
worden. De clip is voorzien van een
kunststof achterkant om de lijn te
beschermen. Door de lijnclip te
gebruiken zal iedere worp precies
even ver en nauwkeurig zijn. Dit is van
onschatbare waarde als er zeer
nauwkeurig geworpen moet worden.
Bijvoorbeeld op een glooiing of vlak

ONDERHOUD
De Stratos heeft speciale montageschroeven en is ontworpen om niet te
demonteren. Onderhoud kan niet zelf uitgevoerd worden. Als de molen toch
gedemonteerd wordt vervalt de garantie.
In geval van technische problemen kunt u contact opnemen met de winkelier zodat
de molen gerepareerd kan worden.
Als u de molen schoonmaakt, dompel deze dan niet onder water. Maak de molen
schoon met lauw water en een vochtige doek. Extra bescherming kan worden
aangebracht door de molen in te spuiten met WD40. Overtollige spray moet
verwijderd worden met een schone droge doek.

UTILIZZO DEL RIDUTTORE
Entrambe le bobine sono equipaggiate con il nostro esclusivo riduttore.
Questo consente all'angler di risparmiare sulla quantità di filo da imbobinare,
eliminando la necessità di caricare filo di supporto e rendendo l'operazione di
caricamento più veloce ed economica. Il riduttore può essere agevolmente
rimosso quando necessario per garantire una capacità di filo maggiore.

CARICAMENTO DEL FILO
Lo Stratos ruota in direzione oraria. Quando caricate il filo sul mulinello
prendendolo da una bobina, assicuratevi che il filo esca in direzione anti-oraria.
Seguendo questa semplice procedura eliminerete il pericolo di torsioni del filo.
CONSIGLIO PREZIOSO:
Per ottenere migliori risultati, bagnare il filo in un secchio di acqua. Fissare il mulinello
sull'impugnatura di una canna, fare passare il filo attraverso l'anello più vicino al mulinello,
fissandolo poi all'interno della bobina. Avvolgere il filo con il mulinello tenendolo in tensione e
facendolo passare tramite un panno morbido inumidito. Il filo dovrebbe essere caricato fino a
quando non si raggiunge il bordo della bobina.

DISTANZIALI
Il mulinello Ë fornito completo di distanziali removibili e intercambiabili, che consentono allíutente
di personalizzare il profilo del filo sulla bobina a seconda delle proprie esigenze. Spostando i
distanziali sulla parte frontale, si crea un cono superiore, mentre aggiungendo i distanziali sulla
parte inferiore della bobina, si ottiene líeffetto opposto. Si prega di notare che i modelli ‘E’
possiedono un numero inferiore di distanziali rispetto a quelli evidenziati nel diagramma
riportato sotto, ma il principio di utilizzo rimane lo stesso.

SISTEMA DI FRIZIONE

Gli ingegneri Fox hanno utilizzato una
frizione frontale, che risulta essere
notevolmente superiore in termini di
prestazioni rispetto alla versione
posteriore, essendo il suo azionamento
svincolato dagli ingranaggi presenti
all'interno del corpo. Riducendo il più
possibile la distanza tra il rullino
dell'archetto e la parte rotante della
bobina, si ottengono inoltre maggiore
affidabilità e migliori prestazioni.

La frizione utilizza un sistema basato su
di un cuscinetto a sfera. Questo sistema
è costituito da un singolo assieme, e
ruota sul proprio asse, non sull'albero
principale. Questo disegno prevede
l'impiego di un assieme composto da più
dischi con elementi autolubrificanti,
fornendo una incredibile scorrevolezza e
accuratezza e richiedendo un minimo
sforzo per l'attivazione.
La regolazione della frizione si ottiene
girando il pomello in senso orario per
aumentare (+) la tensione e in senso
antiorario per diminuire (-) la stessa,
come mostrato sopra.

ANTI REVERSE
Il sistema “Anti-Reverse” è localizzato sulla parte
inferiore del corpo del mulinello. L'utilizzo dell'
Anti-Reverse elimina qualsiasi rotazione libera della
bobina evitando possibili grovigli di filo. Il sistema
Anti-Reverse dovrebbe essere sempre in “ON”
quando si attiva la funzione di “bobina libera”

SISTEMA A BOBINA LIBERA
Il meccanismo di “bobina libera” disattiva la frizione
principale, consentendo al mulinello di fornire liberamente filo
in caso di pesce che parte dopo avere abboccato. Questo
fornisce uno strumento funzionale, affidabile, che può essere
regolato per adattarsi alle più svariate condizioni.

La bobina può essere “riagganciata” al sistema meccanico
del mulinello semplicemente operando un quarto di giro di
manovella oppure in modalità manuale come illustrato. Non
appena il sistema di “bobina libera” viene disattivato, il
mulinello ritorna alla regolazione originale effettuata tramite
la frizione principale, consentendo all'angler di “combattere”
in sicurezza con il pesce.

CLIP PER REGOLAZIONE
RANGE DI LANCIO
Lo Stratos è caratterizzato da una clip in
acciaio inox caricata tramite una molla per
adattarsi a differenti diametri di filo; la
parte a contatto con il filo è rivestita in
materiale plastico ammortizzante per
preservare lo stesso. La clip consente
all'utilizzatore di regolare in modo accurato
la quantità di filo che deve uscire dalla
bobina, per raggiungere distanze di lancio
elevate in modo accurato.
Questa facilitazione è di impagabile valore
quando si lancia a margini molto distanti
oppure quando si usa un “marker” sul filo.
Il disegno della clip garantisce che il filo
venga protetto evitando danni, grazie al
sistema di aggancio, ad ogni modo noi
raccomandiamo di calibrare il lancio in
modo da ridurre al minimo l'impatto.
La clip è inoltre molto utile per fissare
saldamente il capo del filo libero quando la
bobina viene riposta in una custodia.

MANUTENZIONE
Lo Stratos è caratterizzato da viti speciali sigillanti ed è stato disegnato per non
essere smontato. La manutenzione non dovrebbe venire effettuata dall'utilizzatore.
In caso di disassemblaggio del mulinello, la garanzia sullo stesso viene invalidata.
In caso alquanto improbabile di problemi tecnici, si prega di rispedire il mulinello
presso la nostra sede nel Regno Unito, dove vengono condotte le attività di
riparazione e manutenzione dei nostri prodotti.
Quando pulite il vostro mulinello, non immergetelo in acqua; è sufficiente pulirlo con
panno inumidito e acqua calda. Protezione aggiuntiva può essere ottenuta utilizzando spray WD40 sulla superficie esterna, rimuovendo poi la parte in eccesso con
un panno morbido pulito.
