THE ARTWORK L’OPERA
The subject of this artwork is a “spin” that symbolizes the speed of payment
systems which, although fast, must maintain safety and soundness to ensure
effectiveness and efficiency. The representation of Europe in the upper part of
the work emphasizes internationalization, while the numerous arrows reinforce
the concept of dynamism and point out the large number of trade. The hand
that holds the spin wants to indicate mastery, experience and ability in the
management of the systems and in finding immediate and innovative solutions.
The artwork, acrylic on canvas, has a very strong character, bright colors and
a variety of signs that bind well to the represented theme. The impact of color,
composition and layering give the image a digital graphic style.
Il quadro ha come soggetto una trottola, in inglese “spin”. La trottola simboleggia
la velocità dei sistemi di pagamento che, seppur rapidi, devono mantenere
sicurezza e solidità per garantire efficacia ed efficienza. La rappresentazione
dell’Europa nella parte alta dell’opera pone in risalto l’internazionalizzazione,
mentre le numerose frecce rinforzano il concetto di dinamismo e rilevano la
numerosità degli scambi. La mano che sorregge la trottola vuole indicare la
padronanza nella gestione dei sistemi, l’esperienza e la capacità d’intervento
con soluzioni immediate e innovative. L’opera, in acrilico su tela, ha un carattere
molto deciso, i colori accesi e una molteplicità di segni che ben si legano al tema
rappresentato. L’impatto cromatico, la composizione e la stratificazione danno
all’immagine un aspetto che ricorda lo stile della grafica digitale.
GIOVANNI DI MODICA
Giovanni has a degree in sculpture at the Accademia di Brera and has worked, at the beginning,
realizing sculptures for cinema and ads and band stripes edited in Italy and USA. He has recently
realized short cartoons. Di Modica is a painter and a video maker with a huge communication
attitude, sometimes ironic, sometimes lyric.
Diplomato in scultura all’Accademia di Brera, inizia a lavorare nel mondo degli effetti speciali.
Realizza sculture per cinema e spot, disegna fumetti ed è pubblicato sia in Italia sia in USA.
Recentemente ha iniziato a realizzare cortometraggi animati. Pittore, illustratore e videomaker, Di
Modica ha una grande capacità comunicativa, talvolta ironica e tagliente, altre volte più lirica.
“Events in Art” is a project that promotes the talent of young artists, using the artworks as identifying
images of the Conferences. The objective of the initiative is to promote art and culture during the
events organized by ABIServizi S.p.A..
This project is realized in collaboration with Fabbrica di Lampadine.
