Murray ha conseguito la Legion of Merit, le medaglie Defense Meritorious Service, Meritorious Service, Air, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement, e sette Battle Efficiency awards e vari altri riconoscimenti personali. Di recente Murray ha partecipato allo staff del Segretario della Difesa nella divisione Air Warfare. (Allegato C.V.) Murray ASSISTANT CHIEF OF STAFF FOR OPERATIONS (J3), JFC NAPLES Rear Adm. Murray is a native of Springfield, Va. He graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1982 and a Master of Science degree in Business Administration in 1983. He was commissioned after completion of Aviation Officer Candidate School in October 1984, designated a naval flight officer at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Fla., in December 1985 and completed training in the F-14A at VF-124 in October 1986. Murray served in several F-14 squadrons including tours with the Wolfpack of Fighter Squadron VF-1; the Gunfighters of VF-124 as an instructor; Sundowners of VF-111 as Training Officer; and a Department Head with the Tophatters of VF-14. He served as Executive Officer and subsequently the Commanding Officer of VF143 Pukin Dogs from October 2001 to July 2004 where he participated in Operation Enduring Freedom. Murray served as both Deputy and Commander of Carrier Air Wing Nine from November 2006 to December 2009 where he participated in Operation Enduring Freedom. Ashore, Murray served at Naval Air Systems Command as the Deputy Program Manager, Systems Engineering for the F-14 Program Office (PMA-241). He completed his joint tour on the staff of United States Pacific Command where he served as the Current Air Operations Officer (J311). He served as Executive Assistant to the Commander, Naval Air Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet. He attended the Royal College of Defense Studies in London from January 2010 to August 2010. He was the Section Head for Strike Aircraft Plans and Requirements (N98S) on the Chief of Naval Operations’ staff from August 2010 to February 2013. Murray’s most recent tour was on the staff of the Secretary of Defense in the Air Warfare Division of the Director, Operational Test and Evaluation. Murray reported to JFC Naples in June of 2013. His awards include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, seven Battle Efficiency awards and various other personal achievement awards, service awards and ribbons.
