Description The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) seeks proposals for the MMRF 2013 Research Fellow Award Program, an initiative supporting researchers at the post doctorate/medical fellow or junior faculty levels working under the supervision or guidance of a research mentor in the multiple myeloma field. Amount Proposals may request up to $75,000 total costs, including up to 10% indirect costs, for a one (1) year period. Applications for the MMRF 2013 Research Fellow Award Program are solicited from investigators at academic, not-for-profit, institutions. You must be a researcher who holds a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree and has less than 5 years of experience from the highest degree obtained. Eligibility Post-doctorate and medical fellows applying for the award must work under the supervision of a research mentor in the multiple myeloma field. Investigators at the level of assistant professor who are beginning studies in the multiple myeloma field and are thereby applying for this award must have a research sponsor at their institution who is in the multiple myeloma field and can provide guidance to the applicant in the area of the project proposed. The Fondazione Celiachia (FC) is inviting Applications to grant three-years Italian research projects in the area of celiac disease and gluten associated pathologies. These grants are intended to: 1. support the research of established and independent scientists, leading an existing research unit Description 2. encourage talented young researchers to submit their research proposals. The scientific activity must be carried out in a non-profit research institution located in Italy (university, hospital or other research center). Amount Grants are for a three-year period, contingent upon the presentation of yearly renewal requests. Funding applications must not exceed € 100,000 per year. Komen for the Cure®. Description The AACR Outstanding Investigator Award for Breast Cancer Research, funded by Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, will recognize an investigator whose novel and significant work has had or may have a far-reaching impact on the etiology, detection, diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of breast cancer. Such work may involve any discipline across the continuum of biomedical research, including basic, translational, clinical, and epidemiological studies. Amount The recipient of the award will receive a $10,000 honorarium and present a 25minute lecture at the 36th Annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium. The symposium will be held December 10-14, 2013, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, TX. All cancer researchers who are affiliated with any institution involved in cancer research, cancer medicine, or cancer-related biomedical science anywhere in the world may be nominated. Such institutions include those in academia, industry, or government. Description The AACR and the Prevent Cancer Foundation are pleased to co-sponsor this major international award in recognition of outstanding cancer prevention research. The AACRPrevent Cancer Foundation Award for Excellence in Cancer Prevention Research is given to a scientist residing in any country in the world for his or her seminal contributions to the field of cancer prevention. Such investigations must have been conducted in basic, translational, clinical, epidemiological, or behavioral science in cancer prevention research. Further, these studies must have had not only a major impact on the field, but must also have stimulated new directions in this important area. Amount The recipient of the award will receive a $5,000 honorarium, present a 50-minute lecture at the 12th Annual AACR International Conference on Frontiers in Cancer Prevention Research. Descrizione Il Gruppo Sapio, in accordo con diversi Centri di Ricerca ed Università, istituisce il Premio Sapio per la Ricerca Italiana per l’anno 2013 con lo scopo di favorire la ricerca in campo scientifico, tecnologico e socio economico, per il progresso civile e sociale. I premi sono riservati a rilevanti contributi, anche interdisciplinari, per l’avanzamento della ricerca in campo tecnico-scientifico e socioeconomico. Tali risultati devono essere conseguiti nel corso del triennio precedente alla data di pubblicazione del bando di concorso e devono essere stati svolti ed aver apportato concreti risultati negli ambiti di riferimento.
