Ciao, io sono Chicco de’ Risis e adesso ti racconto la mia storia.
Ero un piccolo seme. Una sera di marzo mi hanno lasciato cadere dolcemente in
una grande pianura.
Poi, per proteggermi, mi hanno coperto con fresca acqua di fiumi, canali e
fossi.
Dopo qualche mese sono diventato così …


Le gambe sono ancora sott’acqua, ma
con la mia testolina mi guardo
intorno e conosco tanti amici.

Intanto si prendono cura di me, così potrò
crescere sano e bello come …l’ORO!
In summer time I become … like gold!
Arrivato l’autunno, saluto i miei amici,
perchè … è il tempo della raccolta.
Un grande trattore dalle ruote giganti mi
ha trasportato alla cascina. Qui mi hanno
pulito e in riseria sono divento lucido e
bianco.
Autumn is coming up, so ... bye, bye,
friends, it’ s harvest time! The farmer
comes and picks me up. On the farm I’ ll
become white and bright.
Adesso sono qui in un bel sacchetto a
scacchi bianchi e rossi e sto ascoltando
la storia delle mondine, cioè delle donne
che una volta ripulivano le risaie e poi
raccoglievano le piantine.

Tra poco ho sentito dire che diventerò
una bella insalata di riso, ma,
soprattutto, diventerò buonissimo!!!!
