E’ la scienza sociale che studia i diversi
sistemi economici (economie).

La parola economia deriva dal greco antico e significa «buon
governo/gestione della casa».
Un sistema economico è costituito dall’insieme dei processi che
governano la produzione, la distribuzione/ vendita e il consumo di merci
e servizi.
L’economia di un paese è il risultato di un insieme di processi che
coinvolgono la cultura, la storia, l’organizzazione sociale, la struttura
politica e legale, l’evoluzione tecnologica – così come il contesto
geografico e le risorse naturali.
La struttura principale della
maggior parte delle moderne
economie è il MERCATO.
