Quite “young”:
2.
Different topics covered:
3.
A combination of: conferences; lectures; exhibitions;
except for 4 festivals (ResFest, Mythos,
FestivaLetteratura, Festival Filosofia), all the others are born
between 2004 (3) to 2006 (4).
from poetry to literature,
from myths to science, from history to architecture.
shows; meetings with artists, intellectuals, scientists, scholars;
laboratories,…
4.
Mid-size towns in the north and the centre of
Italy: festival becomes an opportunity for tourists and local
people to discover, to live, to appreciate the city in all its different
sides.
5.
Short lasting but intense programme:
6.
Good audience response: 15.000 visitors for Poesia
all the
festivals take place during a week-end period (3/4 days) except
for 3 festival, which last from a week to 15 days.
Festival, 28.000 for Festival della Mente, 63.000 for Festival
della Scienza, 50.000 for Festival dell’Economia, 100.000 for
Festival Filosofia. All the festivals increase their audience year
by year.
7.
“The city is the venue”:
for these festival the whole
city becomes theatre for the many different activities of festivals.
Festival becomes the way to discover architectural and cultural
sides in the city.
The sustainability model is based
on some key features and some organizational
and managerial patterns
1) Intensive use of a broad range of public spaces;
2) Involvement of the local community. Key role of volunteers
3) Strong diversification of the funding-mix (the third sector and business). No
recognition and money from the state. Key role of the banking foundations
4) Local partnerships: festivals as bridge of connectivity among partners and
institutions)
5) Conceived and run by non cultural-organizations
6) Simple and basic in terms of format and productive model
6) Multi-disciplinarity. The main theme is faced by different disciplines. Core program
enlargement
7) Audience: festival is being experienced as a happening, a sense of festivity
1) Intensive use of a broad range of
public spaces
2) Involvement of the local community.
