A combination of: conferences; lectures; exhibitions; except for 4 festivals (ResFest, Mythos, FestivaLetteratura, Festival Filosofia), all the others are born between 2004 (3) to 2006 (4). from poetry to literature, from myths to science, from history to architecture. shows; meetings with artists, intellectuals, scientists, scholars; laboratories,… 4. Mid-size towns in the north and the centre of Italy: festival becomes an opportunity for tourists and local people to discover, to live, to appreciate the city in all its different sides. 5. Short lasting but intense programme: 6. Good audience response: 15.000 visitors for Poesia all the festivals take place during a week-end period (3/4 days) except for 3 festival, which last from a week to 15 days. Festival, 28.000 for Festival della Mente, 63.000 for Festival della Scienza, 50.000 for Festival dell’Economia, 100.000 for Festival Filosofia. All the festivals increase their audience year by year. 7. “The city is the venue”: for these festival the whole city becomes theatre for the many different activities of festivals. Festival becomes the way to discover architectural and cultural sides in the city. The sustainability model is based on some key features and some organizational and managerial patterns 1) Intensive use of a broad range of public spaces; 2) Involvement of the local community. Key role of volunteers 3) Strong diversification of the funding-mix (the third sector and business). No recognition and money from the state. Key role of the banking foundations 4) Local partnerships: festivals as bridge of connectivity among partners and institutions) 5) Conceived and run by non cultural-organizations 6) Simple and basic in terms of format and productive model 6) Multi-disciplinarity. The main theme is faced by different disciplines.
