Status: startup awarded by the Google-funded News Innovation Contest
Business area: online journalism, social media, digital marketing
Activities: development of multimedia projects pitched by professional journalists and open to the participation of
citizens
• Thematic focus: European and international issues related to the environment, green economy and sustainable
development
• Interns profile:
o education in computer science
o good knowledge of PHP, Java, web publishing platforms (Word Press / Drupal),
o entrepreneurial attitude;
o team-work and project-flow implementation skills;
o fluent English;
o ability to work individually in a creative way;
o interest and motivation about social enterprise and global “green” issues is a plus
• Tasks:
o development of APIs and web applications inter-connecting the platform with partners’ websites, social
networks and other crowdsourcing services
o development of interactive maps in collaboration with FreeReporter.info (see separated info sheet
“Opportunità di stage in sviluppo mappe collaborative a Bruxelles”)
o development of mobile applications
• Number of trainees: max 5
• Duration: min 1 month
• Place:
o Rome (via “convenzione di stage”)
o Brussels (via Erasmus Placement or Leonardo da Vinci grant programmes)
