LURISIA RADON CONGRESS
This congress, which takes place in the "Terme di
Lurisia" spa, a fascinating place, full of historical
and cultural memories of radioactivity, visited in
1918 by Marie Curie, intends to offer an
opportunity for discussion and clarification to the
scientific
community
involved
in
radon
measurements.
Congress works will be organized in three
sessions: one, specifically devoted to discussion
of the in-the-field radon intercomparison
results for passive measurement devices, which
took place during summer 2014; a second
session will discuss radon monitoring
programmes ongoing in Italy, with a specific
emphasis for the National Radon Plan; the third
session will be devoted to technical aspects
connected to remedial actions.
This initiative confirms the interest of the Italian
radiation Protection Association in the promotion
of opportunities for discussion and clarification
among experts in different fields of radiation
protection , especially in the frame of the efforts
for standardization and harmonization.
The significant number of non-italian Laboratories
which took part in the intercomparison shows the
interest in this kind of initiatives.
In order to foster discussion and exchange, each
session, after some introductory talks, includes
time for discussion.
Simultaneous translation Italian/English will
be provided
