Birel celebrates 50 years of
activity in the karting field_
The most famous kart manufacturer in
the world, celebrates 50 years of activity.
Founded by Umberto Sala (named The
Birel) in the end of the 50s, the company
started its mass production with the
Reattino model in 1959. Since then, the
karts made in Lissone, near Milan, have
determined the kart technical evolution by
placing on the market for its high technology
and its polished design. Since then Birel
karts have won 30 titles making the Italian
brand one of the most successful of the
world. Thanks to Birel, many drivers, who
now have an amazing career, run and won
like Riccardo Patrese, Keke Rosberg, Teo
and Corrado Fabi, Mika Hakkinen, Juan
Pablo Montoya, Janson Button and Robert
Kubica. Today Birel is amongst the leader
companies in this field: it has one of the
most prestigious and organized racing
division, a research and development
center and a productive organization with
very high quality standards and also a
worldwide network distribution.
La più famosa e conosciuta casa costruttrice
di kart al mondo taglia il prestigioso traguardo
dei 50 anni di attività. Fondata da Umberto Sala
(soprannominato il Birel) alla fine degli anni ‘50,
infatti, l’azienda ha iniziato la propria produzione
in serie con il modello Reattino nel 1959. Da
allora i kart prodotti a Lissone, nei pressi di
Milano, hanno segnato l’evoluzione tecnica
del kart imponendosi sul mercato per l’elevata
tecnologia e il raffinato design. Da allora i kart
Birel si sono aggiudicati 30 titoli iridati facendo
del marchio Italiano uno dei più titolati al mondo.
Grazie alla Birel hanno corso e vinto piloti
destinati più tardi ad una brillante carriera nell’
automobilismo, come Riccardo Patrese, Keke
Rosberg, Teo e Corrado Fabi e Mika Hakkinen,
fino ai più recenti Juan Pablo Montoya, Janson
Button e Robert Kubica. Oggi la Birel è tra le
aziende leader di mercato del settore: dispone di
uno dei più prestigiosi e organizzati reparti corse,
un centro ricerca e sviluppo all’avanguardia
e un organizzazione produttiva con standard

The chassis RY 30-S1
Limited Edition_
The best way to celebrate 50 years of activity for a
company that has always aimed to the quality of its
products, is doubtless making an exclusive kart and put
all its know-how in it. That’s why the RY 30-S1 Limited
Edition model was created, equipped with exclusive
accessories in just 100 pieces. This kart links the history
and the present of Birel. The history of the company
is underlined by the 50% of the frame blue coloured,
the original colour of the Reattino model, the first kart
mass produced by Birel since 1959 (the other 50% is
in classic Birel red). While the present company ability
of expressing the highest technology in the market is
highlighted by the exlusive equipment, which foresee
magnesium, golden and Hi-Tech accessories. A special
celebratory graphic has been created for this purpose,
characterized by gold colour, the Italian flag and by blue
and red which symbolize the first Birel production (blue
colored) and the last Racing model made in red.
Il modo migliore per festeggiare i 50 anni di attività per una
azienda che ha sempre puntato sulla qualità dei propri prodotti,
è senz’altro produrre un kart esclusivo in cui fare confluire tutto
il know-how di cui si è in possesso. Nasce così il modello RY
30-S1 Limited Edition, allestito con accessori e livrea esclusivi,
oltre che in soli 100 esemplari. Questo kart coniuga insieme
la leggendaria storia ed il presente della Birel. La storia della
Birel è sottolineata dal 50% del telaio colorato di azzurro (il
restante 50% è del classico rosso Birel), il colore originale del
modello Reattino, il primo kart prodotto in serie dalla Birel a
partire dal 1959. Mentre la capacità attuale dell’azienda di
esprimere tecnologia ai vertici del mercato è posta in evidenza
dagli esclusivi allestimenti che prevedono accessori in
magnesio, dorati e Hi-Tech. Ovviamente non poteva mancare
una grafica celebrativa, caratterizzata anch’essa dal colore
oro, dal tricolore Italiano e dai colori blu e rosso che vogliono
simbolicamente unire la prima produzione Birel (di colore Blu)
con gli ultimi modelli Racing caratterizzati dal colore rosso.

The components_
The frame chosen is the RY 30-S1 which can be
assembled both in KZ and KF version (with front
brakes). The exclusive graphic of the pods has the
celebratory logo and is characterized by gold, blue
and red colours [1].
The frame accessories are the top of the Freeline
production and have many golden and magnesium
parts (like support axle bearing and front/rear hubs),
Hi-Tech steering column and Freeline by Tillet seat
[2].
Every particular is highly detailed, as the celabratory
logo and the Limited Edition writing made by laser on
every part and the exclusive floor panel covered in
PVC [3].
Only 100 pieces of the celebratory kart for the 50th
Birel anniversary will be produced and each one will
have its own plate with the kart number and the name
of the purchaser [4].

Limited Editio
Il telaio scelto è il modello RY 30-S1 che potrà essere
allestito, a scelta, nelle versioni KZ e KF (con freni
anteriori). La grafica esclusiva delle carenature riporta il
marchio celebrativo della ricorrenza ed è caratterizzata
dai colori oro, blu e rosso [1].
Gli accessori con cui è allestito il telaio, invece,
rappresentano il top di gamma della produzione
Freeline e prevedono molti particolari in magnesio
(flange dell’assale e mozzi anteriori/posteriori) e dorati,
il piantone dello sterzo Hi-Tech e il sedile Freeline by
Tillet [2].
Ogni dettaglio è curato nei particolari, come si nota dai
marchi realizzati al laser del logo celebrativo e Limited
edition su ogni componente e dall’esclusivo pianale
rifinito con l’adesivo in PVC [3].
Saranno prodotti esclusivamente 100 esemplari del
kart celebrativo dei 50 anni Birel e ognuno avrà una
targhetta riportante il numero del kart acquistato e il
nome dell’acquirente. [4].

The Certificate of Authenticity_
The majority of the 100
celebratory
karts

be probably bought by
collectors, as it happened
in the past for the most
prestigious models of Birel
production. For this reason,
each model will have an
authenticity certificate on
which it will be written the
date of production, the frame
number and the name of the
purchaser. The document will
be an important guarantee
certificate and will make
the purchase an interesting
investment.

privata di molti appassionati,
come già è accaduto per i modelli
più prestigiosi della produzione
