FOUNDER'S INTRODUCTION
I established SAVING Srl in November 1964.
Since the beginning, the Company had two souls: Project Freight Forwarding (in the field of Oil & Gas and Power Generation
Industries) and General Freight Forwarding. The result is an envied success as within a few years Saving Srl became a
specialist in both fields and achieved and gain the confidence of many major International Engineering Companies in Italy,
Europe and the United States as well as of major ‘Accounts’ in Italy in the field of large-scale production of durable goods (Ignis,
Zanussi, Philips, Siemens, etc.).
A few years later, we established separate divisions for activities of Project Freight Forwarding and Shipping and General Freight
Forwarding:

‘Door to door’ logistic and shipment of industrial plants, Heavy Lifts and Out of Gauge Projects, Chartering (special Cargo vessels
and Airplanes), assisting load-out operations, drawing and assisting at loading plans, stowage plans, special lashing and
securing and extreme lifting operations.

Handling General Freight Forwarding by Sea, Air and Land, through groupage or in full. Import and Export operations from and
to all over the world through a consolidated network of correspondents and branches. Customs operations, storage, bonded
warehousing and logistical operations.
Today SAVING Group own about 30.000 sqm warehouses located in the ring around Milan including Cavenago Terminal located
Est to Milan, 800 meter distance from to first entrance/exit of Milan-Venice-Trieste Motorway through which our major traffics
are actually oriented to. Main destinations: Eastern Italy Sea Ports (Porto Marghera, Porto Nogaro, Monfalcone, Trieste,
Chioggia and Ravenna), Austria, Germany, East Europe, Russia, Turkey and Middle East where main SAVING Group regular
lines are actually oriented.
Cavenago Terminal is fitted by about 5,000 sqm yard for temporary storing large equipment and by about 12.500 sqm covered
warehouse including a 2,000 sqm Customs Bonded and a VAT Tax suspension authorized and certified section.
SAVING GROUP can answer demanding Clients through its skilled and experienced staff that offers them a wide range of
personalized solutions, all in strict accordance with Client instructions. To confirm our commitment in performing high quality
services, we are also certified “UNI EN ISO 9001:2008” which guarantees a close selection of Suppliers that offer high standard
throughout all process.
Saving Group has an established reputation and relationships with the major Manufacturers and Engineering Companies. It

N° 1 x 130 tons Reactor (28m length) + N° 1 x 50 tons Stripper from
Milano Malpensa Cargo City (Italy) to Wichita Airport (Kansas – Usa)
Final Destination: Coffeyville Refinery - Kansas
Due to the exceptional weights and to the urgency of the shipment, SAVING has hired the
ANTONOV 225 (nick name: Mriya), the biggest and unique cargo plane in the world, actually
crossing the sky, which can load up to 250 tons.
The airplane has landed at Malpensa Cargo City at 05.15pm on Friday, March 30th, 2012.
The loading operations have started from 08.00am on Saturday, March 31st, 2012 while the takeoff from Malpensa to Wichita (Kansas – USA) has been at 10.45pm of same day.
Transport of the relevant cargo from the Italian producer to Malpensa Cargo City, coordination of
the loading and unloading operations in Italy, hiring of the Antonov 225 to the American ground,
have totally been managed by SAVING Shipping & Forwarding offices in Como (Italy) and in Chicago
(USA).

The OOG transport from the Producer to Malpensa have been carried out in the nights of March
27th and 28th, 2012.
In Malpensa, the loading operations have been
preceded by the construction of a 25m loading ramp
that has linked the plane hold floor to the ground.
This operation has taken hours of work as a
millimetric alignment among the trim and the ramp
slope was absolutely necessary.
Loading operations of the Stripper and the Reactor
have started at 3.30pm. 3x200t jib cranes have been
working as a whole to load and position the items on
the ramp with the utmost caution and accuracy. The
plane winches have allowed the sliding of the items
from the ramp to the final positioning into the AN-225
hold.

Loading operations have ended at 6.00pm on Saturday March 31st, 2012. Just afterwards, lashing
operations have started to fasten the items inside the hold. These operations were extremely
important to comply with the ANTONOV standards that in this case require to contract with 2.5G of
acceleration.
In Wichita, the Antonov has landed
at 06.15am on April 02nd, 2012.
Items have been unloaded, following
same procedures, and delivered in
the morning of April 05th.
The items were installed at the Coffeyville Refinery in
Kansas on April 06th, 2012.

Porto Nogaro (Italy) to Nizhnekamsk (Tatarstan Republic)
Date of cargo readiness being October 20th 2011, the operation was really very problematic, if not
rather Impossible. That’s why we named same as:
“MISSION IMPOSSIBLE”
Volga River Authorities officially announced that closure of the Volga River and Canals system was
planned by the 30th of October 2011.
For shortening the transit time from Italian Port of loading up to Rostov we chartered a 500 tons
lifting capacity vessel and we transshipped the 3 heavy items onto MV Oksky-42, a specially
reinforced Russia Sea-River Vessel adapted to very heavy cargoes to be loaded /discharged
RO/RO.

MV OKSKY-42 succeeded to actually enter
into the Volga River and Canals in Rostov
just last day before the closure and,
escorted by two Ice-breaker.
Tugs all the river navigation long, MV Oksky-42
and it’s cargo safely reached Nizhnekamsk
River Port via Kama River on November 18 th
2011.
Because of extremely adverse weather
conditions and temperature up to 20°C
below Zero, discharging operations and
transport up to Job Site were very tough but
by November 30th 2011 all cargo was
delivered to the Plant.
