WORKS PORTFOLIO SELECTION www.simonabocchi.com ATTESTATIONS & ACCREDITATIONS SIMONA IN HER STUDIO SIMONA’S BIOGRAPHY Simona Bocchi was born in Monza, Italy. She is a Fine Arts graduate from Liceo Artistico Terragni, Como, Italy. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts and Sculpture from Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, Milan and NABA, Milan, where she studied under the tutorship of Hidetoshi Nagasawa, the renowned Japanese sculptor and architect. She obtained further Master’s degrees from Accademia di Belle Arti di Sassari, Italy, The Wimbledon College of Art, London and The Accademia della Belle Arti, Carrara. Between 1996 and 2006 she lived and worked in the Italian capitals of sculpture: Carrara, Pietrasanta and Verona, famous for their marble caves and for their bronze foundries. In this period she further enhanced and refined her knowledge of materials and techniques, from the famous Carrara Marble, to bronze and jute, which are all used in her works of art. In 2006 she was invited to organize an exhibition in New Delhi, India. Her encounter with India proved to have a big impact on her creative vein and inspiration and it marked the beginning of a new chapter in her artistic directions. She decided to settle down in Udaipur, which is well known internationally for the quality and variety of its marbles. In her works she aims to combine the respect for the tradition with the suggestion of modernity, where all elements and symbols meet to give shape to sculptures that have a unique appeal of sensuality and incredible aesthetics. Simona also co-operates also with architects, engineers and interior designers to realize works of art for public and private spaces such as Gardens, Hotels, Corporate Headquarters, Museums, Public Parks and Private Homes. She creates a perfect harmony between the monument or the sculpture and the place and environment where the work of art is going to be positioned. Her sculptures and monumental art, are collected around the world and are exhibited in public spaces and museums in Italy, Uruguay, Switzerland and India and In Norway where she has been spending several years creating monuments that are exposed at The Oseana Kunst Museum, Bergen besides the monuments prepared for private collections.
