Descrizione:
Dopo un primo breve ciclo di lezioni sul panorama letterario spagnolo tra Otto e Novecento, si procederà
ad un analisi e commento della trilogia nei suoi aspetti stilistico-formali e tematico-compositivi basilari.

A metà semestre è prevista una prova in itinere sul panorama lirico spagnolo tra Otto e Novecento,
riservata agli studenti frequentanti. Chi supererà tale prova, verrà esaminato solo sulla parte relativa
all’analisi e al commento della trilogia di Pedro Salinas.
Gli studenti dell’ordinamento 270 presenteranno, inoltre, due schede di lettura su opere del panorama
narrativo spagnolo del Novecento. Gli elaborati devono essere consegnati al docente, in cartaceo, non
meno di 20 gg. prima della prova orale.
La valutazione terrà conto delle diverse prove.

Prerequisites :
Good working knowledge of the Spanish language. Exhaustive notions about Moderne Spanish
Literature and his historical and cultural context.
Objectives:
Students must acquire an exhaustive knowledge of Salinas’ work and a thorough one of his love
trilogy. They will also acquire a good knowledge of the Spanish literary history and of the classical
foundations of literary analysis
Mode of examination: both written and oral
Open to: students who have to sit their third-year exam in Spanish Literature. This module,
together with Spanish Literature 3 B, forms a 12 CFU course in Spanish Literature, as provided for
in the curriculum
Description: After an initial cycle of lectures on the movements and poetics of the 19th and 20th
Centuries, the course will deal with a reading and commentary of the Salinas’ love trilogy.

Part-time students from all other courses of study:
In addition to the abovementioned texts, a selection of criticism will be available in photocopies.
The students must produce: two abstracts (in the form of text analysis) in Italian, of about 6000
characters each, on two Spanish poems of the 16th and the 17th, Centuries; or two written reports
on cultural activities programmed or approved by prof. Frattale (conferences, seminars and the
like). Such cultural activities will be advertised during lectures, or must be agreed on with prof.
Frattale individually. Abstracts and written reports must be handed in at least 20 days before the
oral exam.
Mid-semester there will be a written exam (in itinere) on the movements and poetics of the 19th and
20th Centuries. Who pass this exam will sit the oral exam only on Salinas’ love trilogy.
For the final mark, all partial results will be taken into account.
