Una casa per le ragazze: il report finale
Breve descrizione
La costruzione dell’ampliamento al convitto femminile a beneficio delle ragazze frequentanti il
Senior Secondary School Level, ha preso il luogo di una casa per bambini orfani, adiacente al
convitto già esistente, bruciata accidentalmente a maggio del 2010.
I lavori di smantellamento della vecchia casa per bambini – home 29 - sono iniziati alla fine del dicembre
2010, subito seguiti dai primi lavori di costruzione dell’ampliamento, nel gennaio 2011. Allo stato attuale i
lavori sono stati terminati, il convitto è attivo e può ospitare 88 ragazze, suddivise in 22 camere. Tuttavia
inizialmente in alcune camere si è stati costretti ad accomodarne 5, arrivando ad un totale di 103
inquiline; molte sono infatti le ragazze frequentanti la XI classe. Con il 16 aprile 2012, molte termineranno
gli esami della XII classe, lasciando il loro spazio alle ragazze rimanenti.

Dal 2011 il Tibetan Children’s Village di Dharamsala, oltre ai livelli scolastici base,
offre anche la Senior Secondary School Education, con tre orientamenti: umanitario,
commerciale e scientifico, attirando molti studenti tibetani in più. Nel 2012 un totale di 275
studenti frequentano l’XI classe. Di conseguenza, l’obiettivo del progetto è stato quello di
assecondare la necessità di ospitare un alto numero di ragazze in più nel TCV di Dharamsala,
contribuendo al miglioramento dello sviluppo globale dello studente. L’afflusso di studenti al livello
Senior Secondary al TCV di Dharamsala nei prossimi anni tende a rimanere tale, se non addirittura
ad aumentare.

A girl’s home: the final report
Short description
The building of the annex to the girl’s hostel for the the Senior Secondary School Level students,
has taken the place of an old orphan children’s house adjacent to it, burnt accidentally in May
2010.
The works of dismantling home 29 - the children’s house - have started in December 2010, followed by the
first construction works in January 2011. Currently the works are concluded, and the hostel is active giving
a home to 88 girls, sleeping in 22 rooms. Even if initially in some rooms, 5 girls have been accommodated,
coming to a total of 103 girls. This is due to the high frequentation of level XI. With April 16th, 2012,
many girls have attended the final exams of class XII, leaving their space to the remaining ones.

Since 2011 the Tibetan Chidlren’s Village of Dharamsala also offers a Senior
Secondary School Education, with three orientations: humanities, commerce and science, as a
result many more Tibetan students join the school. In 2012 we had a total of 275 students joining
class XI with the above mentioned orientations.
The final goal of the project was to give more space to the girls at the TCV of Dharamsala,
contributing to the global development of the student himself. The number of students at the
Senior Secondary level at the TCV of Dharamsala, will be rising during the next years.
