FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT
INVITATION AND SCOPE
You are cordially invited to participate in the 5th
International Conference on Biodegradable and
Biobased Polymers (BIOPOL-2015) to be held in
Donostia-San Sebastián (Spain) on 6-9 October
2015.
1st and 2nd BIOPOL were organized in Alicante
(Spain) in October 2007 and 2009, while BIOPOL2011 was held in Strasbourg (France) and BIOPOL2013 in Rome (Italy). The success of the previous
editions aimed us to organize this 5th edition.
The aim of the conference is to provide a forum
for scientists from both academia and industry
(researchers, students and engineers from all over
the world) to exchange up-to-date ideas on
fundamentals, current research and new
applications of bio-based and/or biodegradable
polymers. The conference program will feature
lectures by expert invited speakers while parallel
sessions will be scheduled to provide space for
researchers to present their current research work
as oral communications or posters in one of the
topics of the program.
TOPICS
- Bioplastics from natural polymers, directly
extracted from biomass:
VENUE
The Conference will be held in the Palacio Miramar
near the city center. San Sebastian has good
connections with most of the main European cities
through the Bilbao airport and direct bus
connection to the city.
PUBLICATION
Special issues of the Polymer, Degradation &
Stability (Elsevier), Polymer International (Wiley)
and Journal of Renewable Materials (Scrivener
Publishers) will published with selected papers
from BIOPOL-2015. Details of these publications
will be announced through the conference web
site.
CONFERENCE LANGUAGE
The official language will be English. No translation
services will be provided.

the BIOPOL organization. San Sebastian has a wide
