IO DENTRO
GLI SPARI
A story of mafia seen through the eyes of a boy
Sicily, today. A mafia ambush. A boy survives. Is a true story.
This is a great novel which deals with one of the most serious problems afflicting Italy. It tells the story of innocent victims, guilty of
being born in the wrong place, but it is not a biography or the story
of an enquiry. It’s a story written for children by an author- Silvana
Gandolfi - who knows what she’s doing.
«These pages can help us become aware of what all this is about and
understand, without being indifferent. In other words they can help
us grow up and take responsibility so that we can become free and
lead a true, authentic life»

«Inside the shots is another book regarding organised crime which
will help us think about this issue and take a stand.»
Ferdinando Albertazzi, La Stampa
«This work was inspired by a true story. It reminds us of e very simple
thing: the mafia exists and is far from being wiped out. On the contrary, Silvia Gandolfi, tells us about it very calmly without emphasising the tragedy of what is happening through the words of a very
real character: Franceso, a magistrate.»

NATO ALL’INFERNO
Some true stories are so compelling yet so simple they
touch readers’ hearts. This is one such story-it shines
with the special light of a diamond in the rough. A
highly intense and emotional story.
In post-war Sardinia, the poorest part of poverty-stricken Italy, a
young boy grows up alone, hungry and abused. Yet he is indomitable, honest and generous of heart. He worked the land, tended
goats, broughtreligious pictures to the isolated farmhouses and ferried newspapers to the brigands. He sold stockings and underwear
to the wives of day-labourers. He worked in the movies and saved
lives. His name is Mario Gregu and this book is the transcription of
the story of his life, in his own words. Reading this book feels like
meeting the protagonist of The Man Who Planted Trees by Jean Giono as a child...
Publishing date: March 2011

A Milanese gentleman, who was awe-struck and fascinated by the
tales of Mario Gregu’s life, asked Gregu to write his memories down.
This is the autobiography of the author, starting from infancy
straight through to his departure as a migrant worker first in Germany and then in Milan. However, it is also the history of a long-lost
Italy, a history which is the true wealth of this country.

Mario Gregu left Sardinia as a twenty
year-old. He went to work in Germany

in Milan. In Milan, he opened a greengrocer’s which flourished over the years.
In 1995 he returned to Sardinia, to the
town of Arzachena, where he lives with
his wife.
«Reading this was like a shot to the heart
and a kick to the stomach. It is a tale of complete internal integrity, of brilliance, of courage, of imagination-a tale of someone
who lived in a world he always believed in
and which always believed in him.»
Paolo Arosio
«This book is not some abstract essay about
haves and have-nots, though the author as a
child was definitely a have-not. That is the
least important aspect of the book. The most
important aspect is that Mario Gregu never
expected any help from outsiders. He used
only his very modest resources and in the
end, he made it. That is, all things considered, the only way to really make it.»

FRA NOI DUE IL SILENZIO
A brief, intense and incisive novel.
«Cirikli’s love was my first victory. I gave her everything and she gave

their parents nagging becomes irrelevant and even their friends

QUANDO IL DIAVOLO TI ACCAREZZA

One night Lena, an Italian student and Arioch, a demon as old as the
world itself, meet under the pouring rain while he is duelling with an
angel and falls to the ground, injured. Lena takes him home and
looks after him and this is the beginning of a journey within the
supernatural folds and precipices of her city, where angels and demons fight on the rooves of skyscrapers, where creatures from other
worlds and times wander through the narrow streets and where
dreams are as real as flesh and blood.
Lena knows that Arioch’s next victim will be her best friend, but she
can’t stop herself from following him, from fighting with him against
human and non human opponents and from risking her own life to
save his. This is because Arioch has something profoundly human
which gradually rises to the surface. Falling in love with a demon
is madness, but falling in love with a man is far too easy...

A SCUOLA CON NEANDERTAL BOY
The Italian version of the Flintstones whose main characters are children at school, hunting, on holidays and experiencing something different in the Prehistoric Age.
What did children do in prehistoric times? Did they have time to go
to school?
Neanderthal Boy tells us that even kids in the Ice Age had more or
less the same problems that kids have today: they had lots of subjects to learn (hunting, fishing, collecting, lighting fires, building a
hut, magic drawing, propitiatory songs), lots of sports activities to
do (jumping across a torrent, throwing a club, lifting enormous
rocks, jumping on a rolling tree trunk, stroking bears and running
away from tigers) and whoever didn’t do what they were supposed
to risked a suspension...

BERNARDO
E L’ANGELO NERO
IL RITORNO
DI PINOCCHIO
A subject of burning topicality, a clear insight on war,
a careful consideration on racism and prejudice.
A gentle love story between a little girl and a young
boy
Bernardo is a little boy of twelve, the son the town’s head of the
Fascist Party, he is riding his bike across the Tuscan hills. Bernardo would long to be loved by his father, who is ashamed of having such a fragile, asthmatic child, certainly not destined to become a boxer as he was as a boy. Bernardo is wearing the black
Fascist uniform, fez and gun. Quite so, he is carrying a small revolver which was given to him by his father to protect himself
against the ‘rebels’. For days, his father has been nervous and
preoccupied: the American Allies are moving up Italy and getting closer, they bomb the strategic points and send grasshoppers on reconnaissance flights. One day, in this atmosphere of
tension and hatred for the enemy, Bernardo comes face to face
with an injured Afro-American pilot, hanging with his parachute
from a tree. Thinking he was dead he decides to take him down,
but while he is doing so, the man regains consciousness. The
young boy, eager to prove himself, pulls his gun...
A novel full of contrasting shades, with no good guys on one
side and bad guys on the other, a book that depicts the shabbiness and greatness of human nature.
The adventure of a fragile but brave young boy in search of his
own identity. A book dedicated to ‘who believes too strongly in
his own ideas, and to who doesn’t believe enough’.
One town, one little girl, one night. A young boy knocks on a
window, he asks to be let in and claims to be Pinocchio... It is
the beginning of another story. An exceptional adventure made
of encounters, discoveries, friendship along the streets of the
city and of life.
The return of Pinocchio celebrates the discovery of the world
through children’s eyes, free from social and cultural conventions. A visionary journey through the night as seen by the child
who is buried within ourselves, the essence of all of Silvano
Agosti’s preferred themes, the author of the famous and most
acclaimed book Lettere dalla Kirghisia.
Fabrizio Silei was born in Florence in 1967. An art school diplomate, graduated in Political Science, he has worked for years
as sociologist for a number of research institutes focusing mainly
on the themes of identity and memory. A writer and an artist, an
expert on social communication, he is one of the new voices of
Italian literature. In his books he is able to tackle with lightness
and strength historical and social topics from a very personal
point of view. His first novel Alice e i Nibelunghi has been
praised both by critics and readers and in 2008 has been the
only Italian novel finalist in the Unicef Prize on literature for

GANDHI PER GIOVANI PACIFISTI
An introduction to Gandhi’s for young generations
about this great historical figure.
The great prophet of peace, assassinated in 1948 after having freed
India from the English dominion and having tried to keep the country
united, overcoming economic, religious and caste problems comes
back to life through the words written and spoken in his articles, letters, interviews and public speeches. And all his words demonstrate
how the truth, non-violence, non-possession, courage, tolerance,
equality of religions, importance of promises, sacrifice, fasting, and
the defence of civil liberties are not utopia but can be real. Ghandi’s
life proved it and he is still present with his message of peace.
