In the Personal Care sector, Fater, joint venture between Angelini and Procter & Gamble, is Italian market leader in the nappy, lady napkins and incontinence sectors with the brands Pampers, Lines, Linidor and Dignity. In the Machinery sector, Fameccanica, joint-venture with Procter & Gamble, is world leader in the design and implementation of integrated production lines for the absorbent sanitary product industry. Angelini also operates in the following sectors: perfumery (Idesa in Spain, ITF in Italy and Germany), wine growing and agriculture (Bertani Domains in Italy) and real estate (Italy and Spain). 2 Pharmaceutical sector The pharmaceutical sector is the core business of the group: in 2014 it represented over 50% of the consolidated turnover. In the pharma sector, Angelini has branches in Italy, Spain, Austria, Portugal, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Greece, Turkey, Russia, CIS, Usa, Pakistan and employs 2700 people with a turnover (2014) of 760 million Euros. Angelini is an integrated company, active in research and development, as well as the production and marketing of active ingredients, branded medicines, generics, medical products and food supplements. Main therapeutic areas are: pain relief, inflammation, Cns, cold & flu, oral care & sore throat, gynaecology and disinfection. Angelini is one of the top pharmaceutical companies in Italy by sales volume, with the highest growing rate for prescription market – mainly in pain therapeutic area thanks to the Tachipirina line - and a leading company in the selfmedication sector with brands like Tantum Verde and Amuchina. In recent years Angelini has been implementing an internationalization strategy in countries with a high potential for growth, both through targeted acquisitions and by expanding existing structures abroad. In 2000 foreign turnover accounted for 15%. In 2014 it was almost 50%. Pharmaceutical R&D. Angelini has over 40 years experience in the R&D of small pharmaceuticals molecules, spanning from the design of original molecules to regulatory filing. Several proprietary drugs have been fully developed by Angelini and two of them have gained the status of global products, marketed worldwide in more than 60 countries: the topical anti-inflammatory benzydamine and the antidepressant trazodone. In more recent times, Angelini, under license from Nippon Shinyaku, fully developed the antibacterial prulifloxacin, a fluoroquinolone, for the European market. Angelini R&D is engaged in the development of new drugs, the finding of new indications for already marketed drugs and the extension of its line of products making use of a high level of technological innovation. Research programs are aligned with the company portfolio, mainly on research areas of: pain/inflammation; CNS (mood disorders and insomnia); infection. Recently Angelini’s R&D entered a teamwork program – the Italian Drug Discovery Network (IDDN) – with other Italian pharma companies and public research institutes. The aim is to foster the interaction between public and private research in the discovery of new pharmacologically active compounds. Production plants. Angelini’s production is divided among the three Italian plants in Aprilia, Ancona and Casella (Genoa). They produce, respectively: Api and advanced intermediates; pharmaceuticals, medical devices and medical-surgical products; disinfectants. 3 Personal Care Fater is leader in the Italian market for absorbent sanitary products for personal care. It employs more than 1000 people with a turnover (2014) of 923 million Euros. Its products are widespread in Italy: it is estimated that two Italian families out of three have at least one Fater product in their home. The brands: Lines and Tampax (lady napkins, panty liners), Pampers (nappies and wipes for babies), Linidor and Dignity (absorbent products for incontinence). In 2012, Fater acquired the brands ACE and NEOBLANC (bleach products), produced in the plants of Campochiaro (CB-Italy), Porto (Portugal) and Mohammedia (Morocco). Founded by Angelini family in 1958, Fater has become in 1992 an equal terms joint-venture between Angelini and Procter & Gamble. In recent years, Fater received the Great Place To Work Award as the best company in Italy in terms of working environment and atmosphere. Machinery Fameccanica, is absolute world leader in the design and implementation of integrated production lines for the absorbent sanitary product industry. Fameccanica is a company entirely controlled by Fater, an equal terms joint venture between Angelini and P&G. Born in 1975 Fameccanica employs about 870 people with a turnover (2014) of 256 million Euros. The company operates in Italy, Brazil, China and North America. Fameccanica devises, designs, manufactures and installs complete lines for the production, grouping together and packaging of nappies for babies, training pants, absorbent sanitary products for women, panty liners and products for incontinent adults. 4 Wine growing and agricolture Bertani Domains operates in the wine growing sector bringing together many years of experience with the latest technologies. It consists of six wineries, totaling about 800 hectares, of which 500 planted in vines, in the areas of Amarone, Montalcino, Nobile di Montepulciano and in Friuli region of Italy; and of 1,000 hectares of farmland in the Marche region. Total production is about 4 million bottles per year. Bertani Domains produces wines in three prestigious DOC (name of origin controlled): Brunello di Montalcino (Montalcino Val di Suga), Vino Nobile di Montepulciano (Montepulciano TreRose) and Chianti Classico (San Leonino a Castellina in Chianti). In the wine estate Collepaglia nei Castelli di Jesi, it is produced Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore. Puiatti wine estate, in Friuli, produces its prestigious white and sparkling wines, and the vines of Bertani and Tenuta Novare (Valpolicella area, north of Verona) are famous for the production of Amarone. In 2015, Bertani Domains acquired Fazi Battaglia, the famous company that produces Verdicchio in the Marche region. Perfumery Angelini operates in the Perfumery and Cosmetics business creating and distributing worldwide perfumes and essences through Angelini Beauty, a Business Unit composed by Idesa Parfums (Spain) and ITF (Germany, Italy). Angelini Beauty creates, develops and distributes perfumes and cosmetic product lines under license for brands like Blumarine, Dsquared2, Trussardi, Gianfranco Ferrè, Armand Basi, Angel Schlesser, Mandarina Duck, Anne Möller, Pomellato and, since 2015, Laura Biagiotti.
