This year too, the city of Catanzaro will welcome the 3rd Joint Meeting on Adolescent Medicine. The meeting will deal with issues of great topical interest in the field of adolescence medicine: communication, problems in assistance and in the psycho-social field, chronic diseases, endocrinegynaecological diseases and eating disorders. Great space will be dedicated to present therapies in haematology and oncology, thus focussing the attention on thalassaemia and haemoglobinopathy. Researchers from Argentina, Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, India, Israel, Italy, Spain, the United States, Switzerland, Turkey, and Qatar have joined us. All together, we will be able to devise joint projects for adolescents, thereby going beyond cultural and religious barriers and prejudices which do not belong to the world of science. I do believe that these days of study, in our city, in our Province, will see us writing together a beautiful page aiming at tolerance, peace and well-being of our adolescents.
