ISM iPad Usage Expectations
The iPad has become one of the indispensable tools in the ISM primary school. The 1:1 iPad
program aims to integrate technology into teaching and learning so as to support the
educational mission of our school. The use of the iPad in class carries responsibilities and
behavioral expectations consistent with school rules and policies. The students in ISM primary
school should use the iPads and the school network in a responsible, ethical, and legal manner
at all times.
Expectations
Organisation
1. Students should bring their iPad to school every day, with a cover, clearly labelled with
their name and at least 60% charged. (iPads will not be charged at school).
2. With Parental help, students should ensure there is adequate storage space to complete
school work.
3. With parental help, students should install all core apps and apps recommended by
teachers.
4. There should be separate folders for “school” apps and “home” apps. The “home” app
folder should be put onto a separate page.
5. The “school” app folder should contain only the list of core apps as well as the apps
recommended by the teachers.
- The “home” app folder should not be opened for any reason at school.
6. A) Students in Grades 1 and 2 should not have a passcode set on their iPad so that
teachers can easily access their work.
B) Students in Grades 3-6 are not encouraged to have a passcode set; if set, the code
should be kept CONFIDENTIAL, except to be shared with teachers.
Safety of the device
1. Students should keep their iPad safe by storing it in their bag when walking in and out of
school, putting it in the dedicated place in the classroom and locking it away at break
and lunch times.
2. iPads are not to be left at school overnight for any reason. The school will not be held
responsible for loss or damage to iPads which are left unattended.
3. Students should handle their iPad responsibly (e.g. carrying with two hands).
4. Students should not eat or drink near their iPad.
5. Students should treat other people's iPads with respect.
Responsible use
1. Students should only use their iPad for learning and at the times agreed with the
teacher.
2. Students should cite their online sources in line with the school’s Academic Honesty
Policy.
3. Students should not give any personal information to anyone online such as their last
name, address, phone number, or the name and address of the school without their
teacher’s permission.
4. Students should tell an adult right away if they read or see something on their iPad that
is inappropriate or makes them feel uncomfortable.
5. Students should gain permission before taking photos or videos of others.

The following things are not allowed:
1. Using any texting or social media app while at school (e.g. messages, facetime, Skype,
Instagram, Facebook or any other social apps).
2. Sending or displaying unkind, offensive messages or images.
3. Using another person’s iPad without permission.
4. Taking photos or videos of people without their permission.
5. Using digital resources without giving credit to the source of the material.
6. Using an iPad to play games which are not approved by teachers.
7. Using an iPad on school premises outside of school hours: 8:30-15:25 or during break
times.
8. Gaining or sharing access to any other’s passwords, accounts, files, and/or data.
INFRACTIONS AND CONSEQUENCES
Not bringing the iPad to
school.
All missed iPad schoolwork must be done at home.
Coming to school with the
iPad not charged.
If a student continues to fail to bring a charged iPad to school,
she/he will take consequences determined by the number of the
infraction occurrence.
Damaging the iPad
intentionally.
Same as other consequences stated in the school policy on
damaging other people’s property.
Use of the iPad for anything
which is not allowed at
school.
All missed iPad schoolwork must be done at home.
Any negative use of iPad
directed at another student,
teacher or anyone else.
2nd Occurrence
The iPad will be taken from the student for the remainder of the
school day. Student will be required to meet with the Assistant
Principal. Parents will be notified.

1st Occurrence
The iPad will be taken from the student for the remainder of the class
in which the infraction occurs.
3rd or more Occurrence
The iPad will be taken from the student for the remainder of the
school day. It will be returned at the end of the school day and the
student will be asked to leave it at home for 3 days. Parents will be
asked for a meeting together with the student, the Assistant Principal
and the Principal.

L’iPad è diventato uno strumento indispensabile in Primary, qui alla ISM. Il programma iPad 1:1
mira ad integrare tecnologia, insegnamento ed apprendimento, per supportare la missione
educativa della nostra scuola. L’uso dell’iPad in aula comporta responsabilità e aspettative
comportamentali consistenti con le regole e le policy scolastiche. Gli studenti della Primary
devono usare gli iPad e il network scolastico in maniera sempre responsabile, etica e legale.

7. Gli studenti devono portare l’iPad a scuola ogni giorno, con la custodia, un’etichetta che
indichi chiaramente il proprio nome ed una carica pari almeno al 60%.(Gli iPad non
verranno caricati a scuola).
8. Gli studenti, con l’aiuto dei genitori, devono assicurarsi che ci sia abbastanza spazio
disponibile per completare il lavoro scolastico.
9. Gli studenti, con l’aiuto dei genitori, devono installare le app fondamentali e quelle
consigliate dagli insegnanti.
10. Le app “scolastiche” e quelle “di casa” devono essere in cartelle differenti. La cartella
delle app “di casa” deve essere collocata in una pagina separata.
11. La cartella delle app “scolastiche” deve contenere solo le app fondamentali e quelle
raccomandate dagli insegnanti.
- La cartella delle app “di casa” non deve essere aperta a scuola per nessun
motivo.
12. A)Gli studenti dei Grade 1 e 2 non devono impostare una password sull’iPad, in maniera
tale che gli insegnanti possano accedere facilmente ai loro lavori.
B)Non incoraggiamo gli studenti dei Grade 3-6 ad impostare una password; se
impostata, il codice deve essere mantenuto CONFIDENZIALE e rivelato solo agli
insegnanti.
Sicurezza dell’iPad
6. Gli studenti devono mantenere al sicuro il proprio iPad, riponendolo in cartella quando
camminano dentro e fuori la scuola e nello spazio apposito in aula.Devono inoltre
chiuderlo a chiave durante gli intervalli e nell’ora di pranzo.
7. Gli iPadnon vanno lasciati a scuola durante la notte per nessuna ragione. La scuola non
potrà essere ritenuta responsabile per perdita o danni agli iPad lasciati incustoditi.
8. Gli studenti devono maneggiare i propri iPad responsabilmente (ad esempio, tenendoli
con due mani).
9. Gli studenti non devono mangiare o bere vicino agli iPad.
10. Gli studenti devono trattare gli iPad altrui con rispetto.
Uso responsabile
6. Gli studenti devono usare il proprio iPad solo per l’apprendimento e durante gli orari
concordati con l’insegnante.
7. Gli studenti devono citare le risorse trovate online, in linea con la Policy di Onestà
Accademica della scuola.
8. Gli studenti non devono rilasciare informazioni personali (cognome, indirizzo, numero di
telefono, o nome e indirizzo della scuola) a nessuno, online, a meno che non abbiano il
permesso dell’insegnante.
9. Gli studenti devono rivolgersi subito ad un adulto in caso leggano o vedano sul proprio
iPad qualcosa che ritengono inappropriato o che li mette a disagio.
10. Gli studenti devono chiedere il permesso prima di scattare foto ad altri o riprenderli.

Non è permesso:
9. Usare app di messaggistica o social quando si è a scuola (ad esempio, messaggi,
facetime, Skype, Instagram, Facebook o altreapp social).
10. Mandare o mostrare messaggi o immagini scortesi e offensivi.
11. UsareiPad altrui senza permesso.
12. Scattare foto o fare riprese ad altri senza il loro permesso.
13. Usare risorse digitali senza accreditare la fonte del materiale.
14. Usare gli iPad per giochi che non sono approvati dagli insegnanti
15. Usare iPad a scuola al di fuori dell’orario scolastico (8:30 – 15:25) o durante gli intervalli.
16. Ottenere o condividere l’accesso a password, account, file o dati altrui.
INFRAZIONI E CONSEGUENZE
Non portare l’iPad a scuola.
Tutto il lavoro scolastico con l’iPad deve essere fatto a casa.
Venire a scuola con l’iPad scarico.
Se uno studente continua a non portare un iPad carico a
scuola, dovrà subirne le conseguenze, determinate dal
numero di infrazioni.
Danneggiareintenzionalmentel’iPad. Stesse conseguenze stabilite nella policy scolastica a
proposito dei danni a proprietà altrui.
Usare l’iPad per qualunque cosa
non sia permessa a scuola.
Tutto il lavoro scolastico con iPad deve essere fatto a casa.
1° volta
L’iPad verrà confiscato allo studente fino alla fine della
lezione in cui è avvenuta l’infrazione.
Uso negativo dell’iPad diretto ad
altri studenti, ad insegnanti o altri.
Azioni considerate come uso
inappropriato da parte dello staff
scolastico.
2° volta
L’iPad verrà confiscato allo studente fino alla fine della
giornata scolastica. Lo studente dovrà incontrare il Vice
Principal e verranno avvisati i genitori.
3° volta e oltre
L’iPad verrà confiscato allo studente fino alla fine della
giornata scolastica e restituito solo alla fine della stessa. Gli
studenti dovranno lasciarlo a casa per 3 giorni. Verrà
organizzato un incontro con genitori, studente, Vice Principal
e Principal.
