C.I.E.L.I.
(Italian Excellence Center on Integrated Logistics)
CIELI, originates in Genoa in autumn 2003, following a national valuation process
of the MIUR (Italian Ministry for University), which has chosen it among many
alternative projects, putting together different competences.
The original team comprises researchers of the University of Genoa and includes
more than ten departments belonging to the Faculties of Economics, Engineering
and Law. Thus, it guarantees a remarkable resource and interdisciplinary
approach on research, consultancy and training activities.
The centre aims in developing and enhancing the interdisciplinary research in the
logistics field, integrating its different basic thematic areas (transports, supply
chain, industrial logistics, distribution logistics, security, etc.)
PhD in Logistics,
Transport and Territory
The interdisciplinary nature of the PhD (Economy, Engineering and Law) aims at
providing the students with an in depth knowledge in the field of logistics and
transport through study and research activities while encouriging the participation
to national and international seminars and conferences of the PhD candidates.
The course has the following structure:
First year: oriented towards the consolidation of the principles and main
i(economic, legal and engineering) instruments with the scope of uniforming the
knowledge base of the students that have different backgrounds. To achieve this
goal the centre organizes special seminars and encourages the students to take
cross-faculty courses.
Second year: specific education in the specific areas within the topics and
development of inter-disciplinary competences in tren with the chosen research
topic.
Third year: devoted to the completion of the specialization process and drafting
of the final elaboration.
