Your son has been selected to participate in a major statistical survey on the
second generation in the state secondary schools of I and II grade, which will be
conducted for the first time by Istat in the coming months and attended by 1,400
Higher Education Institutions distributed throughout the country, around 80,000
students (Italian and foreign), professors of Humanities and Mathematics and
School Directors.
Suo figlio è stato selezionato per partecipare a un’importante rilevazione statistica sulle
seconde generazioni nelle scuole statali secondarie di I e II grado, che l’Istat svolgerà
per la prima volta nei prossimi mesi e alla quale parteciperanno 1.400 Istituti Scolastici
distribuiti su tutto il territorio nazionale, circa 80.000 studenti (italiani e stranieri), i
docenti di Lettere e Matematica e i Dirigenti scolastici.
The survey is provided by the National Statistical Programme 2014-2016 - Update
2015-2016 (code IST-02607), currently under approval. The project, funded by the
European Fund for the Integration of Third-Country Nationals aimed at learning
the experiences and opinions of students, teachers and directors regarding the
integration of children with a migration background, is made in collaboration with
the Ministry of the Interior (Funding Agency) and the Ministry of Education,
University and Research (MIUR).
La rilevazione è prevista dal Programma statistico nazionale 2014-2016 –
Aggiornamento 2015-2016 (codice IST-02607), attualmente in corso di approvazione.
Il progetto, finanziato dal Fondo Europeo per l’integrazione dei cittadini di Paesi Terzi
volto a conoscere esperienze e opinioni di studenti, insegnanti e dirigenti in merito
all’integrazione dei ragazzi con background migratorio, è realizzato in collaborazione
con il Ministero dell’Interno (Ente finanziatore) e il Ministero dell’Istruzione,
dell’Università e della Ricerca (MIUR).
The school that your son attends is among those called to participate in the survey
which will begin on 3 March and should be completed by 30April 2015.
La Scuola che suo figlio frequenta è tra quelle chiamate a prendere parte all’indagine
che avrà inizio il 3 marzo e si dovrebbe concludere entro il 30 aprile 2015.
In the coming days a municipal data collector will show up at the school and ask
you to fill out an online questionnaire. The questionnaire is anonymous and since
not being a test of academic preparation, it does not require any special skills or
abilities.
Nei prossimi giorni un rilevatore comunale si presenterà presso la scuola e chiederà di
compilare un questionario on-line. Il questionario è anonimo e non essendo un test
sulla preparazione scolastica non è richiesta nessuna particolare competenza o
abilità.
Students will be asked to provide information freely, answering some questions:
How they find it at school, what they like to do with friends, how and where they
spend their free time, what they want to do when they grow up, etc.
Verrà chiesto ai ragazzi di raccontare liberamente, rispondendo ad alcuni quesiti,
come si trovano a scuola, cosa preferiscono fare con gli amici, come e dove passano il
tempo libero, cosa vogliono fare da grandi, etc..
The questionnaire will be filled out in the timetable of the school so that the
students can then go back to classes and resume normal lessons. The students
will, however, be considered present at the lessons as the activity that they shall
carry out will be an important one, with institutional purposes. The questionnaire is
easy and quick to compile, but in case of difficulties or doubts the municipal data
collector will be available during compilation process.
Il questionario sarà compilato nell’orario di scuola in modo che i ragazzi possano poi
tornare in classe e riprendere il normale svolgimento delle lezioni. Gli allievi saranno,
comunque, considerati presenti alle lezioni perché quella che svolgeranno sarà
un’importante attività con finalità istituzionali. Il questionario è di facile e rapida
compilazione, ma in caso di difficoltà o dubbi il rilevatore comunale resterà a
disposizione durante la compilazione.
Only thanks to the cooperation of all the students, the school will be able to
understand how to better build together, increasingly welcoming and responsive to
their needs and their desires multicultural environments.

Istat is legally obliged to respect the statistical confidentiality (Art. 9 of Legislative
Decree no. 322/1989).
The data collected during the survey can be used only for statistical purposes by
Istat and other institutions and statistical offices belonging to the National
Statistical System. The same data can also be used only for scientific research
purposes, by persons not belonging to the said National Statistical System,
within the limits and under the conditions set by article 7 of the Code of
Professional Ethics and Good Conduct for the processing of personal data for
statistical and scientific research purposes carried out as part of the National
Statistical System.
The General Director of socio-demographic and environmental statistics of Istat
is responsible for the statistical processing of the collected data in this research.
The holder for the processing of personal data is Istat - National Institute of
Statistics, Via Cesare Balbo 16, 00184 Rome, and the manager is the
aforementioned General Director, who you can also contact to obtain the names
of other managers and as regards the exercise of the rights of the data subjects.

L'Istat è tenuto per legge a rispettare il segreto statistico (art. 9 del decreto legislativo n.
322/1989). I dati raccolti in occasione dell'indagine possono quindi essere utilizzati,
esclusivamente a fini statistici, dall'Istat e dagli altri enti e uffici di statistica facenti parte
del Sistema statistico nazionale. I medesimi dati possono inoltre essere utilizzati, per
sole finalità di ricerca scientifica, da soggetti non facenti parte del citato Sistema
statistico nazionale nei limiti e secondo le modalità stabilite dall'art. 7 del Codice di
deontologia e di buona condotta per i trattamenti di dati personali a scopi statistici e di
ricerca scientifica effettuati nell'ambito del Sistema statistico nazionale.
Responsabile del trattamento statistico dei dati raccolti nell’ambito della presente
indagine è il Direttore centrale delle statistiche socio-demografiche e ambientali dell’Istat.
Per il trattamento dei dati personali il titolare è l'Istat - Istituto nazionale di statistica, Via
Cesare Balbo 16, 00184 Roma, e il responsabile è il Direttore centrale sopra indicato, al
quale è possibile rivolgersi anche per conoscere il nominativo degli altri responsabili e
per quanto riguarda l’esercizio dei diritti degli interessati.
