Curriculum Vitae Dr.ssa Rossana Galassi
Rossana Galassi was born in Loreto (AN) October 14th, 1967.
- 1992. She obtains a Master of Science in Chemistry from the University of Camerino with a thesis on "Carbene
derivatives of Au (I): Synthesis, Characterization, and Reactivity" by a vote 110/110 cum laude.
- 1993. She gets a research fellow on "Synthesis and Characterization of compounds mono Mossbauer of Au (I) and
trinuclear Au (I) and Au (III).”
- 1996. She spends a year in the laboratory of Prof. Rinaldo Poli at the University of Maryland at College Park (MD,
USA) studying Mo-Au derivatives.
- 1996. She obtains the title of PhD in 1996 with a thesis on “Synthesis and characterization of homo and
heteronuclear phosphine derivatives of gold (I). Experimental evidence of relativistic effects and isolobality of the
cation [AuPPh3]+ with the proton".
- 1997. She has a research fellow on the "Synthesis of new ligands PN2."
- 1998. She becomes an University researcher in the subject area CHIM03 (Inorganic Chemistry).
Scientific activity. Dr.ssa Galassi is mainly involved with coordination chemistry of group 11 elements in the following
areas:

Coordination chemistry of carbene, phosphane and azolate ligand compounds with Cu(I), Cu(II), Ag(I) and
Au(I)

Synthesis and spectroscopic characterization of Cu(I), Ag(I) and Au(I) metallocycles

Investigation of acid- base properties of coinage metal metallocycles, and their application in the field of
molecular recognition

Investigation on the antitumoral properties of gold(I) phosphane-azolates compounds both in vivo and in
vitro.

Investigation on the antimicrobial activity on the regards of Escherichia coli DiHydroFolateReductase of
mononuclear gold(I) derivatives.
