Wineletter 2010 Harvest – Vintage 2010 As always by this time, you will receive our yearly Wineletter, in which we are looking back on our work, month by month, as a result of precious experience and valuable information concerning vineyard growing and caring operations; meantime we’ll give you a report on the fermentation – ageing – refinement and bottling process of our quality wines. Here in Chianti, we have seen a deeply rainy spring, which led a slow ripening cycle of our grapes, in particular for Sangiovese, but a sunny and balanced summer has soften this effect, preserving health of the vines and their fruits. Consequently, our grapes were faultless and ripe, with good sugar and phenol contents. The grape harvesting started in middle of September for Merlot and at the end of September for Sangiovese. It ended in the middle of October with picking of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Harvest in 2010 was completed with a 10% decrease in production This year’s harvest will allow us to produce each and all of our quality wines with good structures, colours and aromas (scents), able to provoke you great emotions. Great wines are the most spontaneous, instinctive and authentic. Those that tell you about their origin, their belonging to a land, to a history. Wine is alive as each of us. It’s born, grows and reaches ageing and maturity. And in that moment has a fantastic taste…..
