Thanks to the integration of international Commerce and Communications,
the Ministry of Economic Development now possesses all the necessary tools
for allowing key factors affecting the country's economic growth – investment
promotion, innovation, energy, new communication technologies, internationalisation – to be managed in a unified and integrated way. These tools aim
to support companies along the difficult path of globalisation and, recognising
that the government's task is to stimulate, facilitate and sustain healthy upward
forces on the economy, shall be used in a co-ordinated and consistent manner.
Supporting the Italian economic system beyond the country’s borders is a top
priority and this will see Italy launching a new export challenge. The opening up of markets – emerging markets in particular – will bring about great
development opportunities for the Italian economy. Italy can seize these opportunities by reinforcing its presence abroad in an increasingly cohesive and
integrated manner. The Ministry of Economic Development is committed to

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs has been assigned the State’s functions in the
following areas: the management of political, economic, social and cultural relations with other countries; the representation, coordination and protection
of Italian interests in international bodies; the definition and implementation
of Italian international policy action; the management of relations with other
States and with international organisations; the stipulation and revision of international treaties and conventions; the handling of international litigation;

The Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE) is the government agency which
promotes, facilitates, and develops trade between Italy and the rest of the
world, by helping Italian firms to internationalise and set down roots in foreign
markets, and fostering the flow of productive inward-outward investments.
ICE also carries out an intense training activity for Italian and foreign managers
operating on international markets to promote the “Made in Italy”.
Located in Rome, the Head Office operates in connection with a worldwide
network of offices (17 regional offices in Italy and 116 offices in 88 countries).
S.IN.C.E. – the Italian Foreign Trade Information System accessible through
the website www.ice.gov.it – plus a broad application of information technology, have facilitated the continuous exchange of data from the network. This
allows ICE to respond promptly, and in real time, to the new challenges of the
global market. Foreign companies refer to ICE also through the dedicated official website www.italtrade.com for information and assistance, in order to

Marche, located along the Adriatic coast in central Italy, covers an area of 9,694
Km2. Its five provinces – Ancona, Pesaro-Urbino, Macerata, Ascoli Piceno, and
Fermo (recently established) – and its 246 very liveable municipalities reveal a
varied territory, which has a population of 1,569,578 inhabitants. Home of the
“Italian Style”, Marche combines tradition and innovation, offering a range of
skills and expertise: hides, leather, footwear, accessories; textile and clothing;
wood and furniture; mechanics; food production: shipbuilding; rubber and
plastic; and tourism. Leading companies are found side by side with small production firms, manufacturers and craftsmen.
The traditional industrial structure has been replaced by an economic development model based on clusters of highly specialized and flexible small and medium enterprises that have now evolved into “local systems with a global outlook”. Since time immemorial, Friuli Venezia Giulia has been an outstanding region
for transit and connection with the lands beyond the Alps and the sea, thanks
to its geographical position. Today the region is experiencing a rich and vibrant
cultural development.
It is, in fact, one of the most developed regions of northern Italy, with its economy founded on small and medium size enterprises, and on specialised farming. Alongside these, there are also a number of large industrial and service

Lazio, one of the twenty Italian Regions, is divided into five Provinces: Latina,
Frosinone, Rieti, Rome and Viterbo. Rome is the largest and most populated
Province and includes the Municipality of Rome, the region’s main city and
capital of Italy.
Lazio ranks third among Italy’s regions for number of inhabitants (5,300,000
residents), and ninth in terms of territorial area (17,000 square kilometres). Its

Liguria is the location of Italy’s main port system, one of the largest in the
Mediterranean, with Genoa, La Spezia and Savona-Vado making the most of
their geographical position as the main gateway for traffic from the Far East to
Europe's industrial heartland. Its modern infrastructure system allows a saving of five days sailing in comparison to Northern European ports. Strategically located at the centre of the major industrial and business area comprising
Northern Italy and Southern Europe, Liguria’s port system offers operators a

Research is a key strategic development lever in Liguria, a region where innovation and human capital are vital factors for long-term growth. About a

Piedmont is the largest region of continental Italy, with a population of over 4
million inhabitants.
It is an area of excellence, with extremely innovative, flexible and efficient clusters that cover complete production cycles in most sectors, and it produces
10% of Italy’s GDP. Piedmont and its largest city, Turin, the original capital

The Apulia region in the south-east of Italy is a strategic crossroads within the
Mediterranean basin. Recognized as one of the most dynamic regions in the
area, Apulia’s distinctive quality is its vibrant and enterprising economy, with

For several years, the Tuscany Region has been implementing vigorous economic measures to support and promote exports from small and medium enterprises representing the most important industrial sectors of the area (fashion, leather, furniture, design, and ICT). As well as being renowned worldwide

A small, historic winery situated on a rocky hilltop in Puglia, Southern Italy.
In 1987, we were the first winery to bottle a single-grape variety of Gioia del
Colle D.O.C. Primitivo, and are founder members of the Consortium for the
Protection of the Wines D.O.C. Gioia del Colle. In 2007, we organised the first
vertical tasting of the Gioia del Colle D.O.C. Primitivo wine, with 10 vintages
of our own “Fatalone Riserva” from 1994 to 2005, testifying to the long life

A small and very special wine production in Siena, near the Brunello area, producing I.G.T. Sangiovese Grosso & Cabernet Sauvignon wine. Vinification,
ageing, and storage of the bottles are all carried out on the Belcano estate, one
hundred metres from the vineyard, in strict keeping with the family guidelines:
late harvesting; vinification in 80q oak vats; just a few energetic pump-overs;
ageing in 20 and 30q capacity oak casks for a period ranging from 2 to 5 years;
and a minimum of 9 month’s refinement in the bottle. We do not mix one year
with another, and produce only one label per year, corresponding to that specific vintage, therefore a new one every year. Until now we only sell our ’02, ’03,
’04, corresponding to the 2002, 2003 and 2004 vintages.
