N.B. Italian highways are patrolled for speed by radar detectors hidden al ongside the
highways as well as underneath overpasses. To avoid traffic tickets, be aware of these.
On this road there are several machines with a black and white signal where there is the
face of a man and below the sign there is the machine that check s the speed! Be aware
the limit on this street is 90km per hour!
Also, there is one toll on the way from the airport. There is someone at the tollbooth
most of the time. However, in the case of early or late departures, you may want to make
sure that you have some change before leaving. When paying tolls, make sure that you
get into the lanes with the workers or machines that accept coins or Euro. Do NOT go to
the Telepass lane.
1- Turn right at street light at airport exit
2- Take A11/E76 for 4.5 km
3- Head towards: EXIT FIRENZE NORD, BOLOGNA, ROMA, AREA SERVIZIO, FIRENZE NORD
4- Head towards: ROMA, FIRENZE SIGNA
5- Take A1/E35 and continue along for 16 km
6- Exit at FIRENZE IMPRUNETA - SIENA and pay the toll
7- After the tollbooth, there is a roundabout. Take the first exit on your right in the direction
of COLLE VAL D’ELSA, POGGIBONSI, and GROSSETO-FI-SI.

8- Continue on this four-lane highway for 41 km
9- Exit at COLLE VAL D’ELSA SUD. NOTE: DO NOT TAKE THE NORD EXIT.
10- At the stop sign at the highway exit, turn right.
11- After about 50 meters, you will approach your first of three roundabouts. Continue
straight in the direction of SP541 GROSSETO, which is indicated at the top of the roundabout
sign.

12- After the first roundabout, you will continue straight for 1.6 km and approach your second
roundabout.
13- Again, continue straight in the direction of SP541 GROSSETO, which is indicated at the top
of the roundabout sign.

Second roundabout sign
14- After the second roundabout, you will continue for 1.4 km and approach the third and last
roundabout. Again, continue in the direction of SP541 GROSSETO, which is indicated at the
top of the roundabout sign.

15- After the 3rd roundabout, you will travel approximately 1.1 km continuing in the direction
of GROSSETO.
16- You will approach a little two-lane bridge. Veer right over the two-lane bridge and
continue straight along this road for roughly 7 km.
NOTE: IMMEDIATELY AFTER CROSSING THE BRIDGE, THERE IS A SIGN ON YOUR RIGHT FOR
CASOLE D’ELSA. DO NOT TURN. CONTINUE ALONG SP541.
17- After 7 km, there will be a TOTAL gas station on your left and a small bar/restaurant on
your right called LA SPERANZA. After LA SPERANZA please turn right towards Casole D’Elsa.
18 – Drive straightly for about 1.5 km and take the road you will see on your left hand side.
Drive on a uphill dirt road for about 1 km and follow the signs to the Hotel.
