To say you like to do something, you say:


Mi piace + infinitive
To ask someone if he/she likes to do
something, you say:
Informal:
Ti piace + infinitive
Formal:
Le piace + infinitive
ATTENZIONE!

You always use piace with an infinitive or a
singular noun, but you still need to change
to piacciono for plural nouns.
Idiomatic expressions
2 common idiomatic expressions in Italian
contain the word ora:
 Fare le pre piccole = to stay up late

Ti piace fare le ore piccole? = Do you like to
stay up late?
Non vedere l’ora (di fare qualcosa) = to not be
able to wait (to do something)
 Non vedo l’ora di rivederti! = I can’t wait to
see you again!


