•
Multi-Beam User Coverage:
– Limited available spectrum resources (500 MHz in Ka Band) calls for
multi-beam coverage with high frequency re-use
– Smaller beams with higher gain allow capacity increase
– 3 user coverage scenarios:
» Short Term: 50 Beams (FR > 12)
» Short /Medium Term: 100 beams (FR > 25)
» Medium / long Term : 200 beams (FR > 50)

Che cos’è UNIC
“The UNIC project aims at providing the technology and
components to allow satellite operators to offer triple play
bundled services to their customers. Combining satellite
technology for Direct To Home (DTH) TV-service with
internet access and IP based services, including Voice over
IP (VoIP) can provide a competitive alternative to more
traditional access methods such as cable networks and
newcomers such as IPTV/TelcoTV and Digital Terrestrial
TV. In addition, the inherent advantages of satellite
communications, such as unlimited access within the
satellite footprint, and massive downlink broadcast capacity
can be exploited to provide bundled services to
customers previously excluded from traditional access
choices”

Digital Re-Unite
“Ma sopra tutte le invenzioni stupende, qual
eminenza di mente fu quella che immaginò di
trovar modo di comunicare i suoi più reconditi
pensieri a qualsivoglia altra persona benché
distante per lunghissimo intervallo di luogo e di
tempo?
