Passato Prossimo with Essere
Why do some verbs use Essere in Passato Prossimo?
In Italian verbs which are intransitive , that is,
which do not have direct objects use ESSERE as
the helping verb in the Passato Prossimo.
Other verbs which also use ESSERE in the Passato
Prossimo, usually are verbs that are about motion or
transportation.
Why do some verbs use Essere in Passato Prossimo?
Verbs which use ESSERE also have to agree in
gender and number with the subject performing the
action, as seen below:
Loro sono arrivati alle nove della mattina.
