nobody is hanging around suspiciously nearby. If you are
driving, keep all bags, luggage and other belongings well out of
sight and do not leave items of clothing or baggage unattended
in a parked vehicle.

To discourage pickpockets and bag-snatchers, do not keep
your wallet in the back pocket of your trousers or in your
handbag. Keep it close to your body, preferably in front, such
as in an inside jacket pocket. Always carry a shoulder bag and
wear the strap across your chest.

that it is very probably a scam. If they continue to harass you,
try walking away and, if necessary, do not hesitate to attract

Fate molta attenzione a non lasciare il vostro bagaglio

In the port of Naples and main tourist areas you’ll see a

you may need. Should you wish, trained staff are also on hand
to provide assistance for some parts of your excursion.
Be very careful not to leave your luggage unattended and do
not put bags or backpacks down on the ground by your feet.
Scegliete solo taxi autorizzati con regolare licenza. Dopo aver
indicato la destinazione, controllate che il tassametro venga
messo in funzione correttamente all'inizio del viaggio. Per
alcun destinazioni (Porto, aeroporto, lungomare ecc.) e per le
escursioni fuori città, esistono delle tariffe speciali che sono
esposte all’interno della vettura. In caso di contestazione, non
esitate a rivolgervi agli operatori di Polizia.
I tassisti abusivi, che sembrano offrire tariffe più vantaggiose,
non sono necessariamente dei malfattori, ma non possiedono
né assicurazione né licenza. Li potete individuare facilmente,
perché, in genere, non rispettano il proprio turno e vi propongono, spesso in maniera insistente, i propri servizi.
Fate sempre attenzione al vostro bagaglio a mano, a cineprese,
fotocamere, computer. Evitate di poggiarle sul sedile.
Make sure you take only authorized, licensed taxis. After stating your destination, check that the taxi driver switches on
the meter at the start of the journey. Special fixed fares are
available for some destinations (port, airport, seafront, etc.) and
for excursions outside Naples. These are clearly displayed inside
the vehicle. In the event of a dispute, do not hesitate to seek
help from a police officer.
Illegal taxi drivers may offer lower fares and don’t necessarily
have any evil intentions, but they do not have a license and are
not insured to carry passengers. They aren’t difficult to spot as
they generally don’t wait in line at taxi ranks and are often quite
pushy about offering to drive you where you want to go.
Always keep hold of your hand baggage, camcorder, camera
or laptop. Avoid placing these items on the seat beside you.
