Wanderhotel und Vitalpina
Seit über 15 Jahren ist das Hotel Icaro Mitglied der Wanderhotels und der Vitalpina
Hotels in Südtirol und steht damit für Urlaub mitten in der Natur und für eines der besten
Wanderhotels im Alpenraum. Als geprüfter Wanderführer verkörpert Gastgeber Walter Sattler
die alpine Kompetenz im Hotel Icaro. Die von ihm persönlich geführten 4 bis 5 Wander- und
Bergtouren pro Woche sind ein Highlight für unsere Gäste.
Natura meravigliosa e movimento
Da più di 15 anni l’Hotel Icaro fa parte dei Wanderhotels (Hotel Tuttomontagna) e degli
Hotel Vitalpina dell’Alto Adige, ed è perciò uno dei migliori hotel per escursionisti nelle Alpi.
Il titolare Walter Sattler è una guida escursionistica di formazione e impersona la competenza
alpina all’Hotel Icaro. Le escursioni e le passeggiate guidate personalmente da lui sono veri e
propri “eventi” per i nostri ospiti.

The Hotel Icaro has been for more than 15 years by now a member of the Wanderhotels
(Hiking Hotels) and of the Vitalpina Hotels in South Tyrol, and it is therefore one of the best
hotels for hikers in the Alps and offers holidays in contact with nature. The owner Walter
Sattler is a certified hiking guide and embodies the alpine competence in the Hotel Icaro.
The walking and hiking tours, personally guided by him, are really “events” for our guests.

Klimaneutraler Urlaub
Wir sind das erste klimaneutrale Hotel in den Dolomiten. Mit dem Ziel etwas Gutes für
die Umwelt zu tun und die Effizienz unseres Hauses zu verbessern, sind wir schon länger
im freiwilligen Umwelt- und Klimaschutz aktiv. Beispielsweise beziehen wir grünen Strom
aus Wasserkraft, heizen mit Gas und verwenden umweltfreundliche Reinigungsmittel der
Südtiroler Firma Hygan. Im Herbst 2010 haben wir uns entschlossen, unseren Betrieb
klimaneutral einzustellen. So ließen wir die gesamten CO² Emissionen unseres Hotels des
Jahres 2010 berechnen (Ergebnis 312 Tonnen). Daraufhin haben wir entschieden, in das
Klimaschutzprojekt “Windenergie in der Marmara Region - Türkei“ zu investieren und somit
unsere Emissionen auszugleichen. Auch 2012 und 2013 führten wir unser Engagement
im Klimaschutz fort, mit dem Klimaschutzspezialisten ClimatePartner, und gleichen die
unvermeidbaren Treibhausgasemissionen des Jahres 2011 (195 Tonnen) und 2012 (195
Tonnen) durch die Unterstützung eines Wasserkraftwerks in Guatemala aus.
Vacanza a impatto zero
Siamo il primo Hotel a impatto zero delle Dolomiti, quindi con il vostro soggiorno presso
di noi contribuite attivamente alla protezione dell’ambiente. Da anni ci impegniamo
volontariamente per proteggere il clima, con l’obiettivo di fare qualcosa di positivo per il
pianeta e aumentare l’efficienza dell’albergo. Ad esempio, usiamo l’energia rinnovabile
dell’acqua, riscaldiamo con il gas naturale e utilizziamo detersivi eco-compatibili dell’azienda
altoatesina Hygan. Nell’autunno 2010 abbiamo deciso di diventare a impatto zero, per cui
abbiamo fatto calcolare le nostre emissioni totali di CO² dell’anno 2010 (312 tonnellate) e
poi tutta la famiglia ha deciso di investire nel progetto di protezione ambientale “Energia
eolica in Turchia (regione di Marmara)” e quindi compensare le emissioni di CO². Anche nel
2012 e 2013 abbiamo continuato con il nostro impegno per il clima e stiamo compensando
le nostre emissioni del 2011 (195 tonnellate) e 2012 (195 tonnellate) investendo in una
stazione idroelettrica in Guatemala.
Climate neutral holidays
We are the first climate neutral Hotel in the Dolomites, and this means that with your stay
you contribute actively to climate protection. We have been preserving the environment for
years, aiming at doing something good for our climate and in order to improve the efficiency
of the Hotel. For example we use green energy from water, heat with methane gas and
employ environment-friendly cleaning supplies of the South Tyrolean company Hygan. In
autumn 2010 we decided to become climate neutral and therefore our total CO² emissions
of the year 2010 were measured (result: 312 tons). So all family members decided together
to invest in the climate protection project “Wind energy in Turkey (Marmara region)” and
thus compensate the emissions. Also in 2012 and 2013 we decided to continue our climate
commitment and cleared the CO² emissions of the year 2011 (195 tons) and 2012 (195
tons) by supporting a hydro station in Guatemala.

Immer wieder faszinierend ist die unglaublich schöne Panoramalage des Icaro direkt an
den Pisten und inmitten des Skigebiets Seiser Alm. Nichts verstellt den Panoramablick auf
die ganze Seiser Alm und die atemberaubenden Bergmassive der Dolomiten wie Schlern,
Sellastock, Langkofel, Plattkofel – seit 2009 Weltnaturerbe der UNESCO.

It is always fascinating to experience the incredibly enchanting position of the Icaro directly
on the slopes in the middle of the ski area of the Alpe di Siusi. Nothing blocks the panoramic
view on the whole Alpe di Siusi and the breath-taking Dolomites, such as Sciliar, Sella massif,
Langkofel and Plattkofel – since 2009 UNESCO World Natural Heritage.
