Was sieht ein Barcodescanner?
Um einen Barcode erfolgreich lesen zu können, muss dem Scanner
ausreichend Kontrast zwischen Untergrund und Barcode angeboten wer­
den. Ideal sind schwarze Codestriche auf weißem Grund. Aber natürlich
sind Farbkombinationen ebenso möglich. Es gibt jedoch Farbkombina­
tionen, die ein einwandfreies Arbeiten des Scanners nicht zulassen.
Die richtige Farbwahl
Was der Scanner erkennt, kann deutlich von dem abweichen, was das
menschliche Auge sieht. Allgemein gelten helle Farben (einschließlich
den warmen Farben Rot und Orange) als besonders geeignet für den
Untergrund sowie die Ruhezonen vor und hinter der Codierung. Die
dunklen Farben (einschließlich Schwarz, Blau und Grün) eignen sich
besonders für die Codestriche.
Obwohl bei vielen Farbkombinationen die Codestriche für das Auge
deutlich sichtbar sind, können nicht alle vom Scanner erkannt werden.
Die unten angegebenen Farbkombinationen (Auswahl), die für einen
Rotlicht-Barcodescanner lesbar bzw. nicht lesbar sind, können nur ein
Anhaltspunkt sein. Um sicherzugehen, lassen Sie sich von SlCK oder
Ihrer Druckerei beraten.

Choix des couleurs des codes à barres
Que voit un lecteur de codes à barres?
Afin de pouvoir lire correctement un code à barres, il est nécessaire que
le contraste entre le fond et les barres du code soit suffisant. Lʼidéal
est dʼutiliser un code noir sur un fond blanc. II existe bien sûr dʼautres
combinaisons parfaitement lisibles, mais il en existe également qui
empêchent une lecture sans faute.
Le bon choix des couleurs
Il nʼy a aucun lien entre ce que Iʼœil humain peut distinguer et ce quʼun
lecteur de codes peut lire. En règle générale, les couleurs claires, le
rouge et lʼorange sont particulièrement adaptées pour lʼarrière-plan du
code, ainsi que pour les zones « inter codes ». Les couleurs foncées, le
noir, le bleu et le vert sont particulièrement adaptées pour les barres.
Bien que de nombreuses combinaisons de couleurs laissent les codes
parfaitement visibles à Iʼœil nu, un lecteur de code qui utilise la lumière
rouge ne pourra pas forcément les lire. Nous vous communiquons cidessous une liste de combinaisons de couleurs réputées être lisibles ou
non lisibles. II ne sʼagit cependant que dʼune liste donnée à titre indica­
tif, nous vous recommandons de prendre conseil auprès de nos techni­
ciens ou de votre imprimeur pour plus de précision ou de certitude.

What does a bar code scanner read?
To scan a bar code successfully, the scanner must be able to recognize
sufficient contrast between dark bars and a light background. Black
bars on a white background are ideal, but certain other colour combina­
tions are equally effective. Some colour combinations, however, will not
scan successfully.
The right colours
A scanner “reads” the bar code by means of a redlight laser beam, so
what the scanner sees is quite different to what the human eye sees.
Broadly speaking, light colours (including “warm” colours such as red
and orange) can be considered suitable for the background, including
the “quiet zones” before the first bar and after the last bar. Dark colours
(including black, blue and green) are particularly suitable for the bars.
Although many combinations are clearly visible to the eye, some will
be scanned and some wonʼt be scanned by a bar code scanner using
red light. The selection of colours which will and wonʼt scan, as shown
below, is only a guide. Consult SlCK and your printer to be certain.

Cosa legge uno scanner di codice a barre?
Per potere leggere un codice a barre con successo, deve esistere
abbastanza contrasto tra lo sfondo ed il codice a barre stesso. I codici a
barre neri su di uno sfondo bianco sono Iʼideale. Ma naturalmente sono
possibili varie combinazioni di colori. Esistono tuttavia combinazioni di
colori, che causano alcuni problemi allo scanner.
La giusta scelta dl colori
Ciò che viene riconosciuto dallo scanner è ben diverso da ciò che vede
Iʼocchio umano, dato che lo scanner “legge” il codice tramite un raggio
laser rosso. Generalmente, i colori chiari (compresi i colori caldi rosso ed
arancione), sono particolarmente adatti per lo sfondo come per le zone
morte prima e dopo il codice. I colori scuri (compresi nero, blu e verde),
sono particolarmente adatti per le barre.
Nonostante molte combinazioni siano visibili allʼocchio umano, alcune
saranno riconosciute dallo scanner ed altre no. La lista sottostante
contiene alcune combinazioni di colori che sono leggibili ed altre che
non lo sono. Questa però è solo una guida, per essere sicuri, consultate
la SlCK o la vostra tipografia.

Wat ziet een barcodescanner?
Om een barcode betrouwbaar te kunnen lezen, moet de scanner vol­
doende contrast tussen ondergrond en barcode aangeboden worden.
ldeaal zijn zwarte strepen op een witte ondergrond. Maar er zijn natuur­
lijk ook andere kleurencombinaties mogelijk. Er zijn ook kleurencombi­
naties die een betrouwbare werking belemmeren.
De juiste kleurkeuze
Wat de scanner herkent, kan duidelijk afwijken van hetgeen het men­
selijk oog ziet. Over het algemeen zijn lichte kleuren (inclusief “warme”
kleuren zoals rood en oranje) bijzonder geschikt voor de ondergrond en
de vrije ruimte voor en achter de code. De donkere kleuren (inclusief
zwart, blauw en groen) zijn goed bruikbaar voor de codestrepen.
Alhoewel bij veel kleurcombinaties de codestrepen voor het menselijk
oog duidelijk zichtbaar zijn, worden ze niet allemaal door de barcode­
lezer herkend. De hieronder aangegeven kleurcombinaties, die voor
een rood licht-barcodelezer leesbaar resp. niet leesbar zijn, zijn alleen
richtlijnen. Laat u voor alle zekerheid adviseren door iemand van SlCK
of uw drukkerij.
