Sie leuchten, sind transluzent in den Farben blau,
farblos, rot oder orange und schweben im Raum wie
Planeten im Universum...kleine Leuchtkörper, nicht
viel größer als Kirschen, bestückt mit LEDs der
neuesten Generation. Wir schreiben das Jahr 2010...
Die Rede ist von *Track (sprich: Star-Track), einem
sehr filigranen und leichten System, das es dem
Nutzer ermöglicht, bei nur einem Deckenauslass
jeden im Raum befindlichen Punkt mit einer
Lichtquelle zu versehen. War man mit den
bisherigen Schienen- und Seilsystemen noch stark
eingeschränkt, so bieten sich mit dem innovativen
Stromverteilungssystem von *Track neue
Möglichkeiten der Lichtpositionierung. Der
Gestaltungsvielfalt sind hierbei kaum Grenzen
gesetzt: Mit nur drei Komponenten, nämlich
Lichtquelle (LED), Oktogon und Verbinder
entstehen Lichtlinien und individuell geführte
Lichtstraßen. Alles ist möglich!
*Track besteht aus zwei Ebenen: einem Stromverteilungssystem und den Lichtquellen.
Das *Track-Stromverteilungssystem ist eine sehr
filigrane Struktur aus weiß-silbernem Platinenmaterial (2 mm), die sich zusammensetzt aus schlanken
Verbindern in unterschiedlichen Längen und
achteckigen Knotenpunkten. Dank eines flexiblen
Stecksystems kann die Struktur individuell gestaltet
und geführt werden. Die Montage an die Decke
erfolgt mit Abstandshaltern oder bei hohen Decken
schwebend an feinen Seilen.
Die Lichtquelle ist eine zweigeteilte Kugel: Der eine
Teil ist die LED zusammen mit einer Licht
bündelnden Linse, sowie einer transluzenten
Kunststoffabdeckung, der andere Teil besteht aus
dem erforderlichen Kühlkörper in eloxiertem
Aluminium. Die transparente Kunststoffabdeckung
wird in den Varianten farblos, blau, rot und orange
angeboten, der Kühlkörper ist in farblos eloxiertem
Aluminium erhältlich. Die Kugel – und damit die
einzelne Leuchte – hat einen Durchmesser von
lediglich 28 mm. Ihre Lichtleistung beträgt ca.
80 Lumen bei einem Verbrauch von nur 1,6 Watt.
Gehalten und mit Strom versorgt wird sie durch sehr
feine vernickelte Kupferlitzen, die an den achteckigen Knotenpunkten (Oktogone) des *Track-Stromversorgungssystems mithilfe von Madenschrauben
fixiert werden. Die Lichtrichtung der Kugel kann
nach oben, unten oder seitwärts eingestellt werden.
2011 haben wir eine Wandversion von diesem
System entwickelt und erstmalig auf der Euroluce
vorgestellt: *Track Wall. Die Struktur des modularen
Stromverteilungssystems ist flexibel wie die der
Deckenversion und kann vom Kunden mitgestaltet
werden. *Track Wall wird mit 4 cm Abstand zur
Wand montiert. Im Gegensatz zur Hängeversion
befinden sich auf der Rückseite der gesamten
Struktur kleine, aber sehr leistungsstarke LEDs, die
für eine gleichmäßige und starke Hinterleuchtung
des Systems sorgen.
Die Kugeln mit den lichtstarken LEDs werden beim
Wandsystem mit einem Abstand von 8 cm zum
Oktogon, mit Hilfe zweier Drahtbügel montiert. Die
Kugel kann nach oben, unten und zur Seite gedreht
und somit die Lichtrichtung flexibel positioniert
werden. Eine weitere Besonderheit von *Track Wall:
Dieses System benötigt nicht unbedingt einen
Wandauslass, sondern kann auch lediglich durch ein
kleines Netzteil versehen mit transparenter
Zuleitung und Stecker gespeist werden. Ist ein
Wandauslass vorhanden, empfehlen wir ein
passendes, von benwirth licht entwickeltes,
Baldachin-Set.

Das Stromverteilungssystem von *Track und *Track
Wall wurde zum Patent angemeldet.
They glow, they are translucent, they are blue,
colorless, red or orange, and they float in the room
like planets in space… small lamps, not much larger
than cherries, fitted with LEDs of the newest
generation. It is the year 2010…
We are talking about *Track (read: Star-Track), a
very delicate and lightweight system, enabling the
user to place a light source on any given point in the
room, using only a single ceiling outlet. While one
was still very much restricted by the previous track
and wire systems, *Track’s innovative power
distribution system offers new possibilities for
positioning light. There are few limits to your design
options: Using only three components (LED light
source, octagon, and connector), lines of light and
individually arranged streets of light can be created.
Everything is possible!
*Track consists of two ‘levels’: a power distribution
system and the light sources.
*Track’s power distribution system is a very delicate
structure made of white and silver circuit board
material (2 mm), consisting of slim connectors of
different lengths and octagonal nodes. Due to a
flexible connector system, the structure can be
individually designed and arranged. The system can
be installed on the ceiling with spacers, or can be
suspended from higher ceilings on fine wires.
The light source itself is a small globe, consisting of
two parts: the LED (including a lens to focus the
light and a translucent plastic casing) and the
necessary cooling element, covered in anodized
aluminium. The transparent plastic casing is
available in blue, red, orange or colorless, the cooling
element is always colorless. The globe (as the sole
luminaire) has a diameter of merely 28 mm. It has a
light output of 80 lumen at a consumption of 1,6
watts. The globe is being supported and supplied
with power by very fine nickeled copper litz wires,
which are fixed to the octagonal nodes (octagons) of
*Track’s power supply system with stud screws. The
globe’s light direction can be set upward, downward
or to any side.
In 2011, we developed a wall version of this system
and first presented it on ‘Euroluce’: *Track Wall. The
modular power distribution system’s structure is just
as flexible as in the suspended version and leaves
room for the client’s own design ideas. *Track Wall is
mounted at 4 cm distance to the wall. As opposed to
the suspended version, there are small, but very
powerful LEDs on the backside of the whole
structure, providing an even and bright backlighting
of the whole system.
The globes with their high-power LEDs are mounted
at a distance of 8 cm from the octagon with the help
of two wire holders. The globe can be turned
upward, downward and to every side, so that the
light direction can be flexibly set. A further
particularity of *Track Wall: the system does not
necessarily require a wall outlet, but can also be
energized using a small power pack with a
transparent feed line and plug. Where there is a wall
outlet, we recommend the use of a fitting canopy set
developed by benwirth licht.
A patent has been filed for *Track and *Track Wall’s
power distribution system.
Translucides, soit de couleur bleue, rouge, orange,
soit incolores, ils étincellent et flottent dans la
pièce comme des planètes dans l’univers… ce sont
de petits corps lumineux, pas plus grands que des
cerises, munis de LED de toute dernière génération.
C’est l’année 2010…
Il est question de *Track (se prononce: Star-Track),
un système très filigrane et léger permettant à
l’utilisateur de placer une source lumineuse sur tout
point donné de la pièce, avec une sortie électrique
unique au plafond. Si l’on était encore très limité
par les systèmes de câbles et de rails précédents, le
système de distribution de courant *Track offre,
lui, de nouvelles possibilités quant au positionnement de la lumière. Les possibilités de design sont
presque illimitées : avec seulement trois composants, à savoir les sources lumineuses (LED), les
octogones et les connecteurs, des lignes et voies
lumineuses disposées individuellement se forment.
Tout est possible!
*Track présente deux plans : un système de distribution de courant et des sources lumineuses. Le
système de distribution de courant *Track est une
structure très filigrane faite de platines conductrices (2mm) en blanc et argent, qui se compose de
minces connecteurs de longueurs différentes et de
nœuds de communication octogonaux. Grâce à un
système de fixation flexible, la structure peut être
créée et disposée individuellement. Le montage au
plafond s’effectue au moyen d’entretoises ou, dans le
cas de plafonds hauts, pendant à de fins fils d’acier.
La source lumineuse est une petite sphère composée de deux parties: l’une est la LED munie d’une
lentille concentrant la lumière et d’une coque de
plastique translucide; l’autre consiste en un corps
réfrigérant nécessaire en aluminium anodisé. La
coque de plastique translucide est disponible dans
les variantes incolore, bleue, rouge et orange. Le
corps réfrigérant est disponible en aluminium
anodisé incolore. La sphère – et donc chaque
lampe – a un diamètre de 28 mm seulement. Son
rendement lumineux est d’environ 80 lumens pour
une consommation de 1,6 watt seulement. Elle est
tenue et alimentée en électricité par de fins fils de
cuivre nickelés, fixés aux nœuds de communication
octogonaux (octogones) du système de distribution
de courant *Track au moyen de vis sans tête. La
direction de la lumière de la sphère peut être réglée
soit vers le haut, le bas ou de côté.
En 2011, nous avons réalisé une version murale
de ce système que nous avons présentée pour la
première fois au salon Euroluce : *Track Wall. La
structure du système de distribution de courant
modulaire est flexible comme celle du plafonnier.
Le client peut donner libre cours à sa créativité.
*Track Wall se monte à une distance de 4 cm du
mur. A l’inverse du plafonnier, de petites, mais
très fortes LED se trouvent au dos de l’ entière
structure, veillant ainsi à un rétro-éclairage puissant
et régulier.
En ce qui concerne le système mural, les sphères
munies de LED très lumineuses sont montées au
moyen de deux attaches métalliques à une distance
de 8 cm de l’ octogone. Les sphères peuvent être
tournées vers le haut, le bas et de côté, permettant
ainsi de positionner flexiblement la direction de la
lumière. Une autre particularité de *Track Wall : ce
système n’a pas besoin obligatoirement d’une sortie
électrique murale, mais peut être tout simplement
alimenté par un petit bloc d’alimentation avec câble
électrique transparent et fiche. Si une sortie électrique murale est disponible, nous recommandons
un set baldaquin approprié, conçu par
benwirth licht.
Une demande de brevet a été déposée pour le
système de distribution de courant de *Track et
*Track Wall.
Illuminano, sono traslucide nelle tonalità, blu,
incolore, rosso e arancione e rimangono sospese
nella stanza come pianeti nel firmamento… Piccoli
corpi luminosi non più grandi di una ciliegia, dotati
di LED della generazione più recente. Siamo
nell’anno 2010…
Stiamo parlando di *Track (si intende Star-Track),
un sistema molto accurato e leggero che consente
all’utente, mediante un unico attacco al soffitto, di
provvedere ogni punto della stanza di sorgente
luminosa. Se con il sistema a binario e corde
realizzato finora si era estremamente limitati, con il
sistema di distribuzione di elettricità della *Track si
offrono nuove possibilità di disposizione delle luci.
Non ci sono limiti alla varietà di disposizione: con
soli tre elementi, quali sorgente luminosa (LED),
ottagono e connettori si possono creare linee
luminose e percorsi luminosi disposti individualmente nella stanza, tutto è possibile!
La struttura *Track è costituita da due componenti:
il sistema di distribuzione dell’elettricità e le sorgenti
luminose.
Il sistema di distribuzione dell’elettricità è una
struttura molto accurata, costituita da materiale di
circuito stampato di colore bianco-argento (2 mm),
formata da sottili connettori di diversa lunghezza e
da vertici ottagonali. Grazie ad un sistema a innesto
flessibile, è possibile dar forma alla struttura e
regolarla secondo i propri gusti. Il montaggio al
soffitto avviene tramite distanziali o, in caso di soffitti
alti, tramite funi sottili, rimanendo sospesa in aria.
La sorgente luminosa è una sfera divisa in due parti:
la prima è caratterizzata da LED, costituito da una
lente che forma fasci luminosi e da rivestimento
traslucido in materiale sintetico; l’altra parte è
costituita dall’indispensabile termodispersore in
alluminio anodizzato. Proponiamo il rivestimento
trasparente nelle varianti incolore, azzurro, rosso,
e arancione; il termodispersore è disponibile in
alluminio anodizzato incolore.
La sfera, e quindi la singola luce, ha un diametro
di soli 28 mm. Il suo rendimento luminoso è di
ca. 80 lumen per un consumo di solo 1,6 watt.
La sfera viene alimentata da corrente elettrica ed è
appesa a sottilissimi cavi di rame nichelato, fissati
all’ottagono del sistema di distribuzione di corrente
*Track con viti senza testa. La direzione della luce
può essere convogliata verso l’alto, il basso o
lateralmente.
Nel 2011 abbiamo sviluppato una nuova versione di
questo tipo di lampada e l’abbiamo presentata per la
prima volta alla fiera Euroluce. Stiamo parlando della
versione da parete *Track Wall. La struttura del
sistema modulare di distribuzione dell’elettricità è
flessibile quanto quella della versione a sospensione
e viene realizzata secondo le preferenze del cliente;
*Track Wall viene montata lasciando 4 cm di
distanza dalla parete. A differenza della versione
lampada a sospensione, nella parte retrostante
dell’intera struttura si trovano dei piccoli ma potenti
LED, che garantiscono un’illuminazione omogenea
ed intensa della parte posteriore del sistema
luminoso. Le sfere con i LED luminosi vengono
montate a una distanza di 8 cm dall’ottagono con
l’aiuto di due archetti in acciaio. Le sfere possono
essere rivolte verso l’alto, il basso o lateralmente,
garantendo così una certa flessibilità della direzione
luminosa. Un’ altra particolarità della lampada
*Track Wall: il sistema non necessita in ogni caso di
un’ uscita di corrente sulla parete, ma può essere
anche alimentata soltanto da un piccolo alimentatore
dotato di cavo di alimentazione trasparente e spina.
In caso di presenza di uscita di correte sulla parete,
Vi consigliamo un set con rosone e convertitore
integrato, sviluppato appositamente dalla
benwirth licht.
Per il sistema di distribuzione dell’elettricità delle
lampade *Track e *Track Wall è stata depositata la
domanda di brevetto.

Die Komponenten
Die Komponenten für *Track und *Track Wall
können fast beliebig miteinander kombiniert
werden. Sie setzen sich aus Kugel und Seil (*Track)
bzw. Kugel und Drahtbügel (*Track Wall) zusammen, achteckigen Knotenpunkten (Oktogonen) und
Verbindern in verschiedenen Längen.
Die Kugeln
Die Kugeln können mit Kunststoffabdeckungen in
folgenden Einfärbungen bestellt werden: farblos,
blau, rot und orange. Der Kühlkörper wird immer
aus farblos eloxiertem Aluminium gefertigt. Kugeln
mit Seil sind für die Deckenversion von *Track
vorgesehen; die Kugeln mit Drahtbügeln können
sowohl für *Track Wall als auch für *Track
eingesetzt werden. Alle Sets werden mit Kugeln mit
farblosen Kuststoffabdeckungen geliefert. Farbige
Kugeln können gesondert bestellt werden.
Die Oktogone
Bei den Oktogonen aus weiß-silbernem Platinenmaterial wird grundsätzlich zwischen Oktogon Typ A
und Oktogon Typ B unterschieden. Typ A dient als
Steckplatz für ein bis maximal zwei Lichtquellen
(Kugeln), Typ B fungiert lediglich als Knotenpunkt
für die Verbinder.
Für Oktogon Typ A (Steckplatz) bieten wir folgende
Varianten an:
Oktogon Wall A: Oktogon mit rückseitiger
Hinterleuchtung durch SMD LEDs 3000 K.
Oktogon Ceiling A: Oktogon mit kleinem
leuchtenden Mittelpunkt (LED Effektlicht, 4000 K).
Für Typ B (Knotenpunkt) gibt es hingegen drei
Varianten:
Oktogon Wall B: Oktogon mit rückseitiger
Hinterleuchtung durch SMD LEDs 3000K
Oktogon Ceiling B: Oktogon mit kleinem
leuchtenden Mittelpunkt (LED Effektlicht, 4000 K)
Oktogon B II: einfache Platine ohne jede LED
Bestückung.
Oktogon Wall ist sowohl für das Decken- als auch
das Wandsystem geeignet. Durch die Hinterleuchtung mit SMD LEDs wird zusätzliches Licht an
Wand bzw. Decke geworfen.
Die Verbinder
Das *Track System ist auf ein Raster 12,5/25/50 cm
aufgebaut. Dadurch ergeben sich Verbinder in
verschiedenen Längen inklusive der möglichen
Diagonalen.

Verbinder 25 = 207 mm
Verbinder 30 = 312 mm
Verbinder 50 = 457 mm
Verbinder 70 = 665 mm
Auch hier bieten wir jeweils zwei Varianten an:

combined in virtually any way. They consist of globe
and wire (*Track) or globe and wire holders (*Track
Wall), octagonal nodes (octagons) and connectors of
different lengths.

The globes

The globes are available with plastic casings in the
following colors: colorless, blue, red and orange. The
cooling element is always made of colorless anodized
aluminium. Globes and wire are designed for use
with the suspended version of *Track; the globes
with wire holders can be used both with *Track Wall
and *Track. All sets come with colorless globes. Blue,
red and orange globes can be ordered separately.
Les sphères peuvent être commandées avec des
coques plastiques de teintes suivantes: incolore,
bleue, rouge et orange. Le corps réfrigérant est
toujours fabriqué en aluminium anodisé incolore.
Les sphères avec fils sont prévues pour le plafonnier

Il rivestimento in materiale sintetico delle sfere può
essere ordinato nei seguenti colori: incolore, azzurro,
rosso e arancione. Il termodispersore viene sempre
prodotto in alluminio anodizzato incolore. Per la
versione *Track da soffitto sono previste sfere e cavi;
le sfere con gli archetti in acciaio possono essere
impiegati sia per il sistema *Track Wall, sia per
*Track. Tutti i set vengono forniti con sfere incolore.
Le sfere colorate possono essere ordinate
separatamente.

The octagons made from white and silver circuit
board material are distinguished into type A and
type B octagons. Type A serves as a slot for one to
two light sources (globes), type B only functions as
a node for the connectors.
En ce qui concerne les octogones faits de platines
conductrices de blanc/argent, on fait en principe la
différence entre l’ octogone de type A et l’ octogone
de type B. Le type A sert de poste d’enfichage pour
une à deux sources lumineuses (sphères) maximum;
le type B fait fonction uniquement de nœud de
communication pour les connecteurs.
Gli ottagoni, costituiti da materiale di circuito
stampato bianco-argento, possono essere classificati
in ottagono di tipo A e ottagono di tipo B.

grid. From this results the use of connectors in
different lengths, including the possible diagonals.

Die Montage
Installation
Le montage
Um eine präzise Ausrichtung des *Track-Systems zu
ermöglichen und um eventuelle Ungenauigkeiten
beim Bohren aufzufangen, haben wir eine
„schwimmende“ Fixierung der Oktogone an Wand
oder Decke entwickelt. Diese ist sowohl für die
Decken- als auch für die Wandmontage geeignet.
Hierbei wird ein Abstandshalter mit Magnet an
Wand oder Decke befestigt. Das Oktogon wird auf
den Magneten geklickt. Es kann bei Bedarf um 15
mm in alle Richtungen verschoben werden.
Da das *Track-System sehr leicht ist, kann bei hohen
Decken die Struktur auf Wunsch sehr filigran
abgehängt werden. Feine Stahlseile werden durch
eine spezielle Technik kaum sichtbar in der Decke
verankert. Rückseitig am Oktogon befindet sich ein

In order to allow for a precise arrangement of the
*Track system and to compensate for possible
drilling inaccuracies, we have developed a ‘floating’
mechanism to install the octagons on wall or ceiling.
It can be used both with the ceiling and the wall
versions. A spacer with a magnet is fixed to wall or
ceiling. The octagon is clicked on the magnet, and
can be moved up to 15 mm in any direction if
necessary. Due to the *Track sytem’ s very light
weight, the whole structure can be very delicately
covered on high ceilings if desired. Using a special
method, fine wires are then almost invisibly fixed to
the ceiling. On the back of the octagon, there is a
wire holder allowing for easy positioning of the
individual octagons.
Pour permettre une disposition précise du système
*Track et pour éviter des inexactitudes au niveau du
perçage, nous avons mis au point une fixation
« flottante » des octogones. Celle-ci est appropriée
aussi bien pour le montage au plafond qu’au mur.
Pour ce faire, une entretoise munie d’un aimant est
fixée au mur ou au plafond. L’ octogone se clique sur
l’aimant. Il peut être déplacé de 15 mm dans toutes
les directions, si besoin est. Dans le cas de plafonds
hauts, comme le système *Track est très léger, il est
possible de suspendre la structure d’une manière très
filigrane, si souhaité. De fins fils d’acier sont ancrés
dans le plafond, à peine visibles, par une technique
spéciale. Au dos de l’ octogone se trouve un support
de câble métallique qui permet un ajustement simple
de chaque octogone.

To determine the individual drilling positions, we
offer a printout in the original size that can be fixed
to the wall or to the ceiling to copy the drilling

The globes can alternatively be connected to the
octagons with small wire holders (75 mm length) or
very fine nickeled litz wires (ceiling version only).
The desired position and exact height can be
determined, and the structure can then be fixed with
small stud screws.

Il montaggio
Affinché il montaggio del sistema *Track avvenga in
modo preciso e si evitino eventuali imprecisioni
durante la trapanatura, abbiamo sviluppato un
nuovo sistema per il fissaggio degli ottagoni sulla
parete o sul soffitto: si tratta di un dispositivo
“mobile”, adatto sia al montaggio sulla parete, sia al
soffitto. Un distanziale con un magnete viene fissato
sulla parete o sul soffitto. L’ ottagono viene bloccato
sul magnete. A seconda delle esigenze esso può
essere spostato in tutte le direzioni di 15 mm.
Poiché il sistema *Track è molto leggero, in caso di
soffitti alti, la struttura può essere appesa a cavi
sottilissimi. Sottili cavi di acciaio vengono fissati al
soffitto attraverso una tecnica speciale, rendendoli
quasi invisibili. Nella parte posteriore dell’ ottagono
si trova un supporto per cavo, che permette una
regolazione semplice dei singoli ottagoni.
Per determinare la posizione dei singoli fori,
mettiamo a disposizione un modello di dimensioni
originali, da fissare sul soffitto o sulla parete per
consentire la trascrizione dei punti.
Le sfere possono essere collegate agli ottagoni, o
servendosi di piccoli archetti in acciaio (lunghi 75
mm), oppure utilizzando sottilissimi cavetti nichelati
(solo per la versione da parete). La posizione
desiderata/ l’altezza esatta viene determinata e fissata
tramite piccoli viti senza testa.
Sia per *Track, sia per *Track Wall offriamo set
preconfezionati con sagome che ne facilitano il
montaggio. Tutti i componenti possono essere
ordinati anche singolarmente.

lunghezza a seconda delle esigenze. Larghezza 10 mm. Connettori e ottagoni sono costituiti da materiale di circuito stampato con uno
spessore di 2 mm con superficie biancoargento. Corpi luminosi: sfera Ø 28 mm con
superficie appiattita su un solo lato, dotata di
un LED (ca. 1 ,6 watt/80 lm) nella colorazione
3000 K, oltre che di una lente che forma fasci
luminosi e di un rivestimento trasparente in
materiale sintetico (incolore, rosso, arancione,
azzurro), termodispersore in alluminio anodizzato incolore. Alimentazione: sottilissimi

Das *Track System benötigt einen Konverter. Für die
Montage an Rigipswänden oder Decken mit einem
entsprechenden Hohlraum für den Konverter gibt es
einen Einspeiser an einer transparenten Zuleitung. Für die Montage an der Wand ohne entsprechenden
Wandauslass wird der gleiche Einspeiser verwendet.
Der Konverter befindet sich dann am Boden.
Für die Montage an der Wand mit vorhandenem
Wandauslass oder bei der Deckenmontage ohne
Hohlraum bieten wir ein fertiges Baldachin Set mit
integriertem Konverter an. Die Abdeckung ist
ebenfalls aus weiß-silbernem Platinenmaterial
gefertigt und kann mit passenden Verbindern direkt
in die Struktur des *Track-Systems integriert
werden.

a ready made canopy set with an integrated

The *Track system requires a converter. A feeder with
