MARATONA DLES DOLOMITES - ENEL 2014

Alta Badia (Bz) – Nothing belongs to us, only time is ours. This is what Seneca wrote and time will
be the theme of the 28th Maratona dles Dolomites - Enel, which will be held on Sunday 6th July
2014. All the news will be available on the site www.maratona.it which in its new graphic design, will
be even more appealing. Those who have time do not wait for time: the pre-registrations start from
Wednesday 16th October until 6th November: it will be possible to send the applications for entry
only and exclusively on the site. This race in unequalled, unique and special and covers the
Dolomites with cyclists who tackle the three routes, unchanged: Long, 138 km and a climb of 4190
m, Medium, 106 km and a climb of 3090 m and Sella Ronda, 55 km and a climb of 1780 m. The
departure is from La Villa and the finish at Corvara, with a live television broadcast on Raitre from
6.15 a.m..
The draw, according to tradition, will concern half Italian cyclists and half foreigners and is scheduled
for the second half of November. To be precise, 4,500 names, whilst the other places (the limit is
fixed at 9,000 participants) will be divided between those entitled, official Tour Operators of the
Maratona and registrations with the surcharge to be donated to charity. From 14 th October Holimites,
the official tour operator, will put the registrations paired with stays on sale on its site
www.holimites.com.
THE PRE-REGISTRATIONS
Everything is ready for access to the new site which will literally be taken by assault on 16th October
with the start of the pre-registrations which will end on 6th November.
For all those who don’t make it, again only on the site www.maratona.it , there will be the first 190
registrations with a surcharge from 26th November. The second tranche will be put on sale on 26th
March 2014 with the sale of the other 190 registrations with a surcharge.
The pre-registrations is a race before the race, setting new records every year. Last year there were
31,600 and this year again there are all presuppositions to reconfirm, or even surpass, this success.
As for every edition, there will be a theme for 2014 and it will be that of TIME.
Charity is another of the aspects of this event which each year offers hope and concrete help in the
world. The registrations with a surcharge are used for this. In collaboration with the Association of
Groups “Insieme si può” non-profit organization/NGO (www.365giorni.org) there will be two projects
on water and health in Uganda: one to solve the problems linked with drinking water with the digging
of wells and the other with the construction of latrines in brickwork.
