Specific nutritional solutions and kibbles: the best to meet the demands of specific
dog breed morphologies
The muzzle of the Bulldog, the coat of the Yorkshire, the silhouette of the
Dachshund, the skin of the West Highland White Terrier… they are just examples of
the specificity of the dog breeds. Each one has genetically codified features that
make physiological and morphological differences evident.
Further, purebred dogs have also specific sensitivities; that is why each
characteristic must be considered to meet special nutritional demands at best.
TAILOR-MADE NUTRITION FORMULAS. In 2001 Royal Canin was already
pioneering the industry of nutrition that respected the dog needs according to the
life stage, the kind of metabolism and skeletal and muscular system, which are
often very different from one breed to another.
With the precious support of breeders and veterinary doctors, Royal Canin
developed the range Breed Health Nutrition, based on the deep study of the
physiology and behaviour of each breed: on the one hand specific nutritional
solutions that meet the dog needs at best and on the other tailor-made kibbles that
perfectly suit the breed morphology.
BULLDOG 24. Today good 26 formulas are part of Breed Health Nutrition. Like
Bulldog 24, designed to meet the demands of the Bulldog over one year old: the
kibble is shaped and has the texture that make it easier for the dog to pick up
despite the brachycephalic jaw.
YORKSHIRE TERRIER ADULT. Yorkshire Terrier Adult, designed for pure breed dogs
over 10 months old, is the ideal formula that enhances the coat beauty through the
combination of borage oil and biotin. It also supports the hair growth thanks to the
essential sulphurated amino acids for keratin synthesis.
DACHSHUND. Dachshund helps support the joints. That breed has short limbs and
vertebrae that are subject to much mechanical stress: for this reason Royal Canin’s
solution has the aim to keep the dog weight under control and convey a balanced
amount of calcium and phosphorous.
WEST HIGHLAND WHITE TERRIER 21. West Highland White Terrier 21 enhances the
beauty of that breed’s rough coat and delicate skin. It reduces the risk of skin
irritation by means of the patented Skin Complex: a tailor-made nutrition that
requires specific amino acids for the hair growth as well as fatty acids deriving
from oil borage and flax seeds for coat beauty and skin health.
